I have a feeling that in the coming years that no project in Top 25 will have less than $1 billion dollar valuation,  this is where Bancor will derived most of its vale because it is a Federal reserve for most of this tokens. The idea indeed seems abstract to most people

I agree. The implications of Bancor are mind-boggling, and most people's mind cannot grasp such a magnitude of change. If I'm right, we all early adopters will be very very happy at some point.

Anyone in the same boat as me tried to buy using the complicated instructions but instead of getting Bancor tokens got an ether token back?

If so how can I spend these, tried sending a small batch to bittrex ethereum wallet but it did not recognise it.  I basically have this ether token in my wallet than i cannot spend.

Anyone help on this?

I've got exactly the same problem, and I know for certain that others did as well. How we are all sitting with these surreal Ether tokens in our bag. Since it was Bancor's unprecise instructions to lead us all in error, they should now publish a guide on how to resurrect our Ethers. Bancor's crew is really cool and fair, for what I've seen until now, so I guess that when they got some time they'll eventually give a fix to this problem they've caused to us. I guess they must be very busy on lots of more important issues in these days.

Nobody in the community who knows how we can convert this "Ether token" into a real Ether of into something useful anyway?

You should ask for support on telegram or slack, there are people who can help.

Here is info from telegram:

With all the ETH based tokens out in the market, we will be having these issues until the devs of both exchange and the token work this out. Having said that, i dont think your tokens would be lost. Its just not written to be recognised for now, when they do it will show up. Make sure to checkout ethexplorer to see the correct status. If tokens show up there, things are fine.

Why you all think that once bounty will be released everyone will sell their tokens? I think Bancor has great community and most of bounty participants will hold BNT long term as a investment. I know I will!

obviously i will not sell my bounty tokens! i'm not mad  Cheesy

Nobody could force you to hold your tokens it's all about faith and trust in the dev team. I bought some during recent dip but would like to hold until it would reach $100 one day before end of this.
I wish you are right, as I have BNT as well from the ICO, but I am not that optimistic. That would mean 8Bn market cap, 6x Dash, 4x LTC and kind of Ripple territory. Do you think BNT has a chance? Is it any better than Ripple, LTC or Dash?

One day you will regret for this trolls even you couldn't realize how big potential this project has even it has use case. In current situation when this market is in pressure it looking impossible but it would happen on day.

Bancor is a long term project. I would say 3 to 5 years or less depending on blockchain tech maturity. I personally believe that 1 BNT will equal to 1 ETH at least for a long term accumulation based on Bancor's excellent mechanism.

Moreover, BNT is backed by ETH and the famous VC Tim Draper.

Because Bancor is doing nothing else than tailgating Ethereum price. No point to keep this token if the price doesn't behave any differently than ETH. If the same gain can be achieved from an useful asset such as ETH, why would anyone keep a useless one like Bancor?

As a reserve for new tokens created on Bancor platform for example. Whatever man, If you care only about the daily price then focus on other coins. Wish you all good!

price at bittrex is kinda slow moving. i was expecting the usual big dump, then big pump again before a slow decline downwards. i wanted to daytrade since i missed this ICO although the price did not multiply the investments like usual.
Lol this is not the pump and moon token.

They have the smart contract to balance the price quickly.

You comment caught my attention as I was reading this thread in preparation for the possibility of investing in this token by purchasing it at Bittrex, but the part you said "They have the smart contract to balance the price quickly." completely threw me off in my plans to buy and I need clarification how the value of this token are to increase in the future.  I, just like a plethora of people here, invests in ICO's with the expectancy and hope that one day the value of the token can appreciate to give us a meaningful ROI.  Now I am not looking for a 10x increase in a week or in a month, but also I am expecting the free market to dictate the value of the token at any given time.  The only way I can see where a smart contract can balance out the price quickly if it ever goes up in value is if there is some reserve extra tokens not under circulation that all of the sudden gets launched to the market so that there could be more coins in circulation as to dilute the price divided by the total market capitalization invested value, such as what Tether do in order to ensure that their tokens are always valued as closed to $1 as possible.  So with all that said, if there is a system in place similar to Tether to "balance the price quickly" shall there be a sudden rush in purchasing, what criteria is use to finally let the free market rise up the value of each token where the investors can finally begin to see a Return On Investment?

EDIT:  In the other hand, if the price is balanced out in order to maintain an arbitrary fixed value per token regardless how the marketcap grows in overall $$$ invested value then this could make this token as a great store of value to hedge when bitcoin and most altcoins goes down in value to protect investors in value not going down dollar wise when the market "dries up" allowing to "buy back" later on at the same dollar value you existed  at regardless how low BTC "crashed"

I strongly advise you to read the whitepaper, which explains very well how it works. The only "manipulation" of the price is ar the moment set by the devs who have created a massive buy wall at ICO's price, which is very good for all of us. Bancor's smart contract system doesn't at all influence the direction of the market, it only smoothes volatility and gives protection against pump&dumps schemes. Price will supposedly rise very much once Bancor's wide range of applications will be released, like the app to create currencies and the one to create ETFs.

I have a doubt ... from what I see with Bancor is that it is very difficult to make the bombs by their own system prevents this happening, I buy enough, but I am doubtful and worth the wait for slow climbs or go to Other currencies with more volatility and give more play.
The truth still did not understand well this form of control of prices.

You must be a dreamer, bounty tokens is going to enter market soon, so expect the price to react to that, because some bounty tokens holder will surely take profit
