I am interested in BEAM as a developer for implementing blockchain technologies for my clients.
A couple of questions for you guys please: -
1. What are the typical transaction costs for sending from one address to another ... how is this calculated?
2. My first task was to download the desktop wallet that includes the miner. How do I get hold of BEAM apart from mining it?

What price was on token sale? Icodrops says that token sale ended but no details about price etc..

BEAM never spent ICO - 3 Jan is the launch date of mainnet. The information from the website you specify is inaccurate and misleading.
For example, on this exchange you can buy/sell BEAM and see the dynamics of value https://bitmesh.com/exchange?market=usdt_beam#/
Early private 'investors' in the project, get a 40% cut of the 20% 'dev fund' mining reward.
Call it whatever you want, but fair, meh.

Price has really been tanking. The emission (inflation) is just too high.
"Treasury" is also way too high - which is what puts me off for the long term.

I have no task to sell coins today or tomorrow, even if the coin costs 2, 3 or $5.
I mine this coins to sell it later, after 1 or 2 year. Now selling it makes no sense.

2 weeks is long period, this coins would cost nothing when i accept them. Right now they didn't give US our coins because they are busy - preparing for another project. That's not a service , the most thing is get coins and sell them when they cost something, in 2 weeks they waste more than half of price. There is no reason to calm down and wait, i am warning all ppl about these lier pool, if u have some problems, nobody can helped them. Ppl must know that, and think twice before mining on these pool. I have problems with another exchanges and pools also , but this service is the worst, ppl must wait their coins, for 2 weeks , because pool is preparing for the new project to earn money. And they didn't care about our problems.
I understand you, but now Beam on an unpopular stock exchange.
If you sell these coins for $ 1, then later, when the coin appears on another (some big stock exchange),
you will regret selling it so cheaply. I think that the coin will cost 5 dollars (or 7-8% from ZCash price),
so I have not sold my coins. Good Luck!
