Yes, taproot did not get activated in v0.1.6 we almost reached the target, one mining pool didn't upgrade, and literally taproot activation was short by 5 blocks.

So we decided to give it a reschedule, and new builds are available at GitHub and bitgesell.ca website. Also a few small fixes regarding 'bitcoin' mentioned in wallet dump etc., were done.

The new taproot activation rules are more relaxed, hopefully we would make it, 1st on September.

I'd like to share some remark:
- when we updated node software for taproot signalling, I had to write pools after some time, and most did got upgraded, except one who didn't made it. And this nonetheless looks decentralization is in play. That took around 10 days. Of course, we are looking at the situation taking place in bitcoin, and after including taproot deployment code and updating BTC core, in just a few days the network gained complete and almost unilateral majority from miners, although the signalling 2-week period times out only in August. https://taproot.watch/about Overall from top 20+ mining pools having 95+% of mining power, only one at the bottom did not switch to taproot signalling in block bit on 2nd week of releasing BTC Core update. I am pretty impressed the speed of update and consolidation level of such change (almost like they have one chat group )

I saw the newly released version contained a rescheduled taproot activation. So, let's upgrade our node to a newer version if we would like to enable Taproot on BGL!

This is true. Bitgesell has an somewhat active and moderated Telegram group with more than 550 followers. Twitter can reach much more people, so the account should be up to date. For example, you could post the updates and activities (traction) from page one of this thread there.

The Taproot soft fork was planned but didn't get activated. So there was no soft fork at block 66000.

No, bitgesell is not about trend, moonshot, hype, but long term. Don't have to promise to the moon, mars, or hell. Bitgesell does not need to rush to step but quickly forgotten supporters. This is a self-funded project, I know (though not exactly) that Emma has spent a lot of money out of her/his own pocket since this ann was published a year ago. The struggle must pay off in the long run.

When will you list more exchanges or discuss listing with new exchanges?  now we need to work on this issue as much as possible, and when there is another crypto surge, we may also fly to Mars.

I can't understand if there was a soft fork for block 66000 and whether Taproot and Schnorr signatures was activated? If this event occurred, does it mean that BGL did it first than BTC?

I don't have any suggestions unfortunately, but I think BGL could try to be accepted in some little things, if someone has a site that sells something, they could accept BGL as a payment method too. I know this wouldn't impact prices much, but it would naturally spread the word and show the existence of BGL. The way things are being done is satisfactory, it's rare to find active projects like BGL.

Maybe the bull run from 2020 to 2021 help them become millionaires and they are no longer want to do sponsored videso.

Yeah, that should be easy for any devs to replace the word Bitcoin with BGL, just make sure it doesn't replace the licensed comment or things that correlated to some code. I believe the devs still not have an urge to replace those words and focus on something else.

Yeah, this one is a great list. But these people charge a lot & some of them stopped doing sponsored videos. We may try them out when we have a large community.
