Mine at Jonny's Pool
It's amazing how much variance there is in the first few batches.  People have reported being able to hit and hold 504GH/s stable at a clock of 250, while others (like myself) can do no over clocking at all, and cannot hit even the reduced advertised stock speeds on all units.  For example, one of my S3s hashes very happily at 441GH/s @ 218.75.  The other one can barely hold 420GH/s at the same clock speed.  I've tried over clocking, under clocking both of them, but neither works.  Any change to a higher clock frequency inevitably leads to "x" and "-" and lower-than-stock hash rates.  I've pulled both of my units apart, cleaned and replaced all thermal paste with AS.  Unfortunately, I'm just one of the unlucky ones.

My 2 S3's arrived this morning.  They are now up and running at a steady 458 GH/s.  Interestingly they use about 30 watts less power than the S1's.

458 GH/s what frequency and how many Watts each S3?

Release B4  Grin

they are likely using the last few days to ensure happy B1-B3 customers. By the end of the week almost every order should be shipped and they can offer 48-hr shipping on B4 onwards.

also, they probably need a few days to redesign the miner to achieve 500GH if its possible.

500GH Would be devine. Hopefully BITMAIN can do it.

They told me they won't redesign it (I asked more info the DC/DC component).

I got one unit that run at 250 mhz at ~503 GH/s (0.001% error rate)
The other one, running at stock at ~434 gh/s (Any OC kill the performance)
I understand them, it would need a new design using different power chips and they probably have a nice stock of the actual PCB. The best way would be to use buck controller with external power MOSFETs instead of buck converters, but it will also cost slightly more.
For those running under specs, you can also check the voltage provided to the chips.
If for some reason the resistors that define the voltage for the buck converter are both at opposite side of the tolerance, it will give lower voltage than expected or slightly higher, depending on what value they are.
For overvolting, there will be 8 resistors to replace on each PCB to raise the voltage. I gave values to expect in an earlier post in this thread. And yes, it will worth the extra power draw for a few monthes.
If someone can make HQ pictures of the area around the coils, I'll probably be able to tell which resistor to replace before my S3 arrives.

Well after several days of running my S3's 4 out of 7 are running to spec (441GH/s @ 330Watts). 3 are running below spec (420GH/s @ 308Watts). After reading BitMain's suggestion to open them up and inspect heat sink and thermal paste, I found all 3 had some OVER USE of thermal paste on at least one of the boards. Cleaning them up and applying a proper amount of paste so as to NOT grease ASIC pins together, they are running @ spec...  For now, update in a few hours.

IF your S3 is running but running slow or has "x" or "-" indicators I would clean them up, apply proper thermal paste (pads would be even better), before trying to RMA as that could take sometime. Clean-up takes less than an hour.

They are all working up to the specs now ?

The rejects and HW % are in an acceptable level ?

If they can't, we will do it with overvolting.
I'm still waiting for shipping or tracking informations, but once I receive my order, the first thing I'll do is overvolt  and overclock, as usual.

I know how to overclock because its easy, but... overvolt?? how you do that?. And its worth it overclocking? i mean for the difference of Watts.

Stock 441 GH/s --> 340W and with overclock i dont know if its worth it that increase Huh

Has anyone come up with a cheap water cooling solution for the S3?  I already have a nice waterloop built that i'd like to use with a 34" radiator outside.  Hopefully I don't have to spend an arm+leg on water blocks...

what do you want water cooling for?  you can't over clock most of them.  the stock fans keep the gear pretty cool.

if you set freq to 212.5 it is cooler and pretty quiet .  not whisper quiet but decent.

Not sure what your need for a water block cooler is based on.   for all I know  you may have a really good reason.

Do you mean tracking number?  I don't see one listed yet on my order page.  Usually, the tracking number shows up on the Bitmain order page.  I don't understand what you mean by "reference number put in your order number."

Go to: http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_US&WBPM_lid=homepage/ct1.html_pnl_trk

Click on "Track by Reference Number"

Paste your BITMAIN Order # into this "reference number" field and hit track

Ahh, thank you.  My labels have been created, but no expected delivery date yet.

Has anyone with a B3 order received a shipping notification?  Still anxiously awaiting mine...

probably late tonight (which is morn July 22 in china) or tomorrow because my late batch 2 was shipped today
My batch 3 order
Order Date: 2014-07-11 18:50:20
Pay Date:2014-07-11 19:01:06

Just got an e-mail from UPS this morning EST that my labels have been printed.

Good to hear.  My order/pay date was July 7.  I guess if yours was July 11 and you are receiving your labels, mine should be "any moment now."
Go to ups.com and search by reference number put in your order number it will let you know if the labels have been printed. They show a delivery date of wensday for mine even though they haven't received them yet.
