I feel like unlocking your wallet to mine stake should be a lot easier...like, a click of a button. If it requires console to unlock then this is probably on it's way to fail.

maybe if you are 5 and unable to understand simple isntructions. No offence, this isn't exactly requiring a high level of technical know-how to do it, we are talking click a menu, select an option, click another button and then input some text. I could train a monkey to do it purely with a picture of Wesley Snipes for training.

Roll Eyes

Still,it's fucking stupidity. A race to see who can profit the least.
The total amount of BC available on MintPal, at any price is inconsequential, 2-3 BTC at most. Compare that with 100's of BTC volume for MINT. IMO, the difference is the dev has essentially done nothing to market and promote the coin outside of this forum. Also, even at BC 2300 MINT 38 sat the price ratio between the two is 60:1 or 30% higher than it was yesterday at 45:1. With the reward on MINT halving again today to a max block reward of 112,500 it makes no longer makes sense to mine, when you can mine BC at an equivalent guaranteed block reward of 600,000 Mint coins if you sell at 2300 and convert to MINT.

How does PoS work?

PoS can only be done by an unlocked wallet. In the client it is called 'Staked Mining'. As soon as you unlock your wallet (there is a difference between encrypted & locked) the stake miner will start. You will start to see coins being moved from your balance to your 'Stake' balance. Coins will not be lost. After a while you will start receiving transactions with your earned interest.

How to unlock:

Go to your Debug Window and then open the Console. Type in:
Code:
walletpassphrase -yourpassword- -secondstokeepwalletopen- true

An example would be:
Code:
walletpassphrase Ex4mpl3P4ssW0rd 3600 true

In this way you'll unlock your wallet for one hour.

How to lock:

keep getting message

18:15:22

Error: Error parsing JSON:him

any ideas?
Go to your Debug Window and then open the Console. Type in:
Code:
walletlock

Now your wallet is locked and you'll stop PoS mining.

Is my stake balance spendable?
 - Not sure yet, has to be confirmed by either dev or community

This is the information I have managed to gather so far, If you have any other questions, please leave them here so I can try to answer them!

So, if you have an unencrypted wallet (never encrypted), will it be mining or do you need to go through this process, encrypt, then unencrypt/unlock it?

This is the real question for me too. My wallet ISN'T encrypted and I have had NO passwords / pass-phrases entered into my Blackcoin wallet since installation, im running 1.01.

The stake mining portion sounds awesome, but at the same time I don't want to start using a feature that isn't fully implemented / tested and put my coins at risk. Is there ANYONE who can clarify this?

Guys it's panick mode here idk what happens.

My wallet was doing great until i closed it and opened it again.

My balance was 0 instead of xxx,xxx

The wallet.dat wasnt the original one. I was about to go to sleep and want to encrypt it.

I found my wallet in the trashbin.

Now i can see my balance (a part of it), but it's not syncing.

stuck at 94%.

when syncing the first part of the blockchain, I saw a part of the balance going to stake; and disappears shortly after several time.

Time of those blocks were like 3:00,3:01,3:01,3:01,3:02,etc etc

I closed my wallet. And came here.

Please do help me. I invested a LOT in blackcoin  Sad

They're dumping to try and convert their assets into Aurora, buy up while it's cheap as their short sighted greed means profit for us

 Grin Grin

Think yourself as lucky, I only have 6k

lmao I just bought 143 and I thought I had a lot plus my 20 lol.. I won't be posting my addy here but yeah I hustle for work to get coin lol. Smiley Smiley So now I have 150 coins nearly I will earn a stake on them after 8 hours some interest? Will they hatch some new coins?

that 150 coins like someone said here are like 150 little miners. so you have less chance at having an interest.  the way i see it,the more coins you have, the higher chance you can get interest.  150 might be very low but it's still got some percentage where you'll get an interest Tongue
