Links for wallet binaries aren't working.  Undecided

1. it is easier and more secure to compile from github than running the binary.

2. the link to binary on blackcoin.co works fine for me.

Not everyone has the skills to compile a binary so it's impossible for them to use any wallet without a binary.

The fiasco of Bter and exco will harm altcoin market, including Blackcoin, I feel sorry about that.

Instead of "burning coins" whenever a transaction is not met in Halo,

Why not put it in a special reserve fund. That would be spread for things such as promotion material (after being subjected to community vote), or as a bonus for miners (even though blackcoinpool is looking more and more like a scam, it could still be changed), or any other justified reasons.

I first thought about putting it in the foundation, but it would have been too much controversial (as the funds could easily be misused for travelling, for example).

Edit: BTW, are there some news about bringing some API to Halo, that would let it be embed as a way of payment directly on websites ?
It has been work-in-progress for many months now

Amateurs build exchanges is the biggest problem of the crypto world.   Imagine how good bitcoin could be with proper exchanges.

"Where there is a will, there is a way" - hacker/attacker/thief will always try to find their ways.

Also, even the traditional financial institutions can't escape that. http://rt.com/news/232627-banks-hacked-russian-expert/

The 6 BTC sell wall at 7500 SAT on Bittrex seems to be fake. Apparently it's just some individual trying to suppress the price even lower, buy cheap and then pump it up. I wonder there are still sheeps who don't understand the rules of this dirty game.

I hear the same thing every time, with every coin.  Roll Eyes
that is probably because it is happening all the time, with (nearly) every coin, including BTC  Tongue

Exco.in shutting down is not helping either.
i doubt that that (sad as it is) has any influence.
Nothing in recent crypto markets is even remotely tied to development/reality.

Blackcoin is slowly reaching it's bottom. My estimation is that we can still dip down to 5-6K areas but maybe not. Again the cycle is repeating. Noobs are dumping below the price they bought in, smart ones accumulating. It seems like nothing is happening with BLK but I know there is always something happening in the backstage Wink
It's always the same when BTC moves in either direction.
Especially the bunch at BTC38 with their finger on the panic sell button 24/7 are ridiculously predictable. Not only with BLK, pretty much every altcoin.
Although we are "officially" trading vs. CNY all the daytraders do likely only care about the value in SAT/vs. BTC.

Two-way squared
Here is the info how staking is going to be added to the halo wallet.
Also it's useful if you want to implement your own custom staking scheme.
I have to clarify, whilst this does allow multi-signature staking however doesn't allow the cold staking which is a different concept and orthogonal to single/multi signature.

It's not necessary to use the block template and/or the block template sign key but makes the process way easier.
Not all of this stuff is implemented yet and some details wait for the upcoming hardfork.

Quote
Once per 16 seconds (more often makes no sense) you check your unspent coins

checkkernel [{"txid":hex,"vout":n}, ...] true

which usually returns

{
"found":false
}

or when you are lucky to create the new block

{
"found":true,
"kernel":{"txid":hex, "vout":n, "time":time},
"blocktemplate":hex,
"blocktemplatefees":fees,
"blocktemplatesignkey":hex
}
blocktemplatefees is in satoshi

Then you create the coinstake tx, using info returned by checkkernel, as
follows:
create empty tx
set time to the kernel time
add the kernel input
if you want then add more inputs (which have at least 500 confirmations)

Now we need to know the reward, so call

getstakesubsidy coinstake

returned stakesubsidy is in satoshi
Then calculate the output amount of the coinstake tx: sum of inputs + stakesubsidy + blocktemplatefees

Continue to build the coinstake tx:
add output to empty script, 0 coins
add output to script "OP_RETURN blocktemplatesignkey", 0 coins
add output to your addr, N coins (or split it to a few outputs)
sign tx

Last step you call
submitblock blocktemplate {"coinstake":hex}
It will add coinstake to the block template, recalculate merkle tree, sign
block, and announce it to the network.
