I think staking is not really profitable!??

You don't have to encrypt the wallet for staking, that' not true. You should encrypt it in any case, but for staking it is only necessary to unlock it for staking only.

Yes! For all coins which have staking feature, stakers should open wallets, unlock them, let them operate 24/7 (should be operated 24/7, but not mandatory) to earn as many staking rewards as possible.

Mandatory Update - Update NOW

COLX Core v1.0.3 is a mandatory update for all users. Min stake age decreased to 8 hours since block 300'000 (approximately 30.04.2018) - it is grace period to update wallets. Since block 300'000 old wallets will get much less staking power.

How to Upgrade
Shut down wallet. Wait until it has completely shut down, then run the installer (on Windows, if you installed in Program Files then Run as Administrator) or just copy over /Applications/COLX-Qt (on Mac) or colxd/colx-qt (on Linux).
