In an effort to increase ROI, PoW will be permanently removed starting from block 72,000. This will be around 2 weeks from now. The updates are, and I stress this, mandatory for all users. If you do not update then you will end up on a forked chain, which will result in a loss of coins. Discord mods will be patrolling BitcoinTalk and Discord daily, reminding users to update their wallets. VPS servers also need to be updated. A guide on this is coming out tomorrow.

You can join at any time I think. You do not have to be in 1st airdrop to join 2nd or 4th etc.
