Dear community. As you already know recently there was an unpleasant situation with the coin YENTEN (YescryptR16):
the attackers took advantage of the vulnerability in the source code of YENTEN thanks to this they received 84 million coins. This was followed by a price reduction to 0.1-1 Satoshi per coin. Hopefully, the YENTEN community will successfully resolve this.

However, many people believe that this problem could flow into the WAVI source code. This is a misconception so it is necessary to clarify this situation.

As it became known from the discussion on BTCtalk (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2329470.4140) the reason for this problem was a vulnerability in the source code called CVE-2018-17144 (more information: https://bitcoincore.org/en/2018/09/20/notice/). This vulnerability appeared in the Bitcoin source code in November 2016 in the version of Bitcoin Core 0.14.0 and was solved on September 18 this year in update 0.16.3. So this issue migrated to the YENTEN source code when the fork was produced in October 2017. Therefore this issue is not related to the YENTEN developer (and the YescryptR16 algorithm).

Now that concerns our coin. WAVI is a fork of DASH (a fork of bitcoin on January 18, 2014) in which initially there is no this vulnerability. This means that WAVI is not threatened by this problem and your investment is protected by a digital code.

Link to the source code of YENTEN in which the vulnerability lies:
https://github.com/conan-equal-newone/yenten/blob/master/src/validation.cpp#L2859

The corresponding part of the WAVI source code:
https://github.com/wavicom/wavi/blob/master/src/validation.cpp#L500

If you have something to add or make comments, I suggest to discuss it.

If anyone is interested: recently launched a very similar project - ANN] VECO [YescryptR32] [CPU Mining] [Masterodes] [DApps] - here is the link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-veco-yespower-10-cpus-only-mastenodes-dapps-5047116. If someone has computing power, you can try to start all over again)

I noticed a page on the WAVI devs site that mentions YENTEN. Not sure if that's evidence, but it did some a little odd.

1BTC=$1 000 000,—I believe in it!
I dare to suggest. Perhaps this is the idea of the developer — to leave the project. If the projects of Yenten and WAVI were created by one person or one group of people and they went offline. Both projects have gained a sufficient number of users and coin holders and are already listed on  exchanges. Such an option is possible as a targeted developer left the project, so that the holders could manage it themselves, if possible. A developer may want the project to develop along the lines of Bitcoin as Satoshi NakamotoBTC did when he went into the fog.

This is the very decentralization, when there is no commander. If the project continues to live, then it will show that it is needed by its coin holders!!!

It seems that Conan created PPTP coin (WAVI fork), as its repository belongs to the same Github user as Yenten.
But this is still not proof that Conan is the WAVI founder.

who cares, i have about 7 old Poweredge servers mining the shit out of this coin right now. Its fun to have access to a data center at work where old, retired machines are still powered on and you dont have to pay for electricity.

Wavi for now, im at 1400, when i get to maybe 2000 ill switch to another CPU coin. Veco is looking ok to mine so far.

I just want to warn the Wavi miners and holder, that Wavi was build by the same developer (Conan) of Yenten.
Yenten developer didn't update the bug on the wallet, and make the chain split in 2. The attacker who use the bug was able to create unlimited coins.
Now Yenten is worthless, and will be delist from exchanges.
Dont waste your CPU or Money is this coin or you will endup with worthless coin, and losing money.

Don't mislead people. WAVI and Yenten have different source code. The only similarity is the hashing algorithm based on YescryptR16. If the error lies in the mining algorithm, then provide proofs. In addition, this happened after the updates Yenten to version 2.0.1.

I'm sorry to tell you, but WAVI and Yenten are from the same developer (Conan).

do you have any proofs to prove the above claim?

WAVI has been added to CoinGecko. Now you can see the coin statistics here:

FYI, If Wavi were to win a one-click MN sinstall at 01VPS.net - that one click would also include Sentinel installation and setup. Just wanted to mention that. The idea is to provide a full VPS service (not just a MN hosting service) wherein the user does not have to directly interface with SSH/Linux is they don't want to. Cheers!
