The watermark can make sure that the copy you are watching was illegally obtained, but it may appear on your own tv, so anybody could see it, when you use the platform, there is no problem, but if you see it anywhere else, that means that it is an illegal copy, I don't see a way that the watermark won't appear in a pirate, because, what is stopping we just record the tv show live?

The idea looks really cool and promising, but if there's one thing I've been convinced for decades, it's that you can not stop piracy, despite the increasingly advanced technological means available for combat, there will always be a chance to be mocked, craving luck with that, because anyone who can stop these means, will certainly have success and renown in the segment

I think there are anti-piracy measures. Piracy can cause problems or even the closure of the platform.

The problem is not that there are pirated copies ON the platform. It's more the problem that people will try to pirate/copy the movies from the Cryptoflix platform.

The internet is full of porn / adult movies.

Most people using such platforms want to watch movies they've seen in the past and can not find them, or they want to see some series, TV shows, new Movies that they do not have a chance to see in the cinema or have lost their broadcast to certain TV stations.

The devs should just offer some unique materials, e.g. old or rare movies in good quality, so they won't be having much competition in the segment.

I'm only sure of one thing. If the platform will be good movies in good quality, success will be guaranteed. Films do not have to be old, there are a lot of worthy pictures in modern cinema!

Exclusive films will also find their audience. In order for this platform to become more popular they need originality- what competitors can not offer - So old, rare historical, military chronicles and other genres can create this originality.

I think if the platform will appear very quickly novelties of cinema in good quality, it will also have a positive impact on the popularity and competitiveness of the project!

Having novelties of cinema will be good for the business for sure, but is not going to make the difference.

Who knows? Maybe they will introduce something new and disruptive and use it to gain some competitive advantage

The broader range of materials they have - the better for the project. They are yet to find their perfect and the most profitable audience, and having very different materials, it will be much easier to do that.

Well, a product cannot rely on Elon Musk's mood about a sending a satellite and providing free internet to the masses.

The problem is not about his mood. If he says he will make this internet thing happen, than he will make it happen. The questions is when and that will not be this or next year for sure. For this they need to bring up a lot of satellites and SpaceX is still not in the situation to launch rockets weekly. Do not expect this to happen soon.

What I am trying to convey is that you cannot and should not rely on any other entity for your own product to work.

Well, that's a very idealistic approach and it doesn't really work in real life. We take inventions and developments of others and take them to the whole new level.

The codec is a very low part of a streaming solution. There are several developments using the x265 codec for video transmission.
Would be interesting how much Cryptoflix develops by themselfs or just buy a solution or using open source.

I do not think porn / adult movies will be a problem for Cryptoflix to gain popularity.
The internet is full of porn / adult movies.

Most people using such platforms want to watch movies they've seen in the past and can not find them, or they want to see some series, TV shows, new Movies that they do not have a chance to see in the cinema or have lost their broadcast to certain TV stations.
