I will mine, if I can receive my card from repair store :/.

Hi muf

Which card is that?  Good ones now is GTX 1070 or 1080.

This seems very interesting.

We would be interested in knowing what it takes to mine, especially on the GPU nVidia side.

Are there any link we could research?

Sure it is :-)
Setting it 6667 for now.

Hi,

2nd pool is up.
You can use it as backup pool, as I didn't make frontend yet, but backend is running and mining too.
I'll make frontend tommorow or next week :-)

Keep in mind that pool wallet doesn't have any coins in it, so if you start to mine on 2nd pool you will have to wait until coins get mature.

In config:
Code:
server = "dtc2.graymines.net";
port = "4444";

M.

Thank you Marcus!  More pools, more price!

I agree - another port please   Smiley

The funniest thing is that there only are now coins selling in parts of 0.00010025BTC/each price point.

I don't see anything funny about the 0.00010025 orders.
.0001 is precisely the BTC Pop minimum trade amount and the 25 satoshi at the end would be the fee.

The cumulative amount of DTC in aggregate within those orders is very small.

Lol.  I see there is a Datacoin wallet at MIT.

Hi MarcusDe,

Thank you for your dedication to Datacoin and this new pool!

Color me ignorant, but is is possible to have a different port for this one?

how we can know real price if 1-2 actors, are changing orders, how they like.

The Order Books aren't the ticker tape.
The price is chronicled in the Market History.

The real price is what you and the other party accept as a mutually beneficial deal in a trade.
You can set a real price in your bid and hope someone sells to you or in an offer and hope someone buys from you.

Its really that simple.

Yeah, I know.
But you can paint tape, but no I don't mean that.
Actually freicoin's price is having to low liquditity on btcpop, we can see real price, or at least real "demand".
The funniest thing is that there only are now coins selling in parts of 0.00010025BTC/each price point.
Tell me that it isn't done by one actor Wink.

Hi balko14,

Is this a gaming computer?
Make sure your crossfire is off.

And one 280x, at current mining difficulty of 9.84, your CPD should be about 165 (educated guess), and should garner about 250+ a day by my estimation, or 750 for all three.
And with Datacoin buys at 0.00000150 BTC (good liquidity at that level) = 0.001125 BTC, and with Bitcoin at 11,300 -- that would be about $12.71usd generated a day.
Note this is all highly variable -- each factor is subject to change very quickly, especially Datacoin price, as it appears to be in an upward trend.

We need a mining calculator!!  Roll Eyes  Shocked   Cheesy  Smiley

I look at these market incentives another way.
There are buyers looking for large lots hoping to shake the weak hands of those who have been holding onto large bags for years.

Another way to look at things is by comparing our prime generation with Primecoin.

We've had an uptick and difficulty levels are in the 9.83 range right now compared to Primecoin at 10.98.
Over the last 12 months, XPM has gone from 4 cents to 89 cents.

Both the Primecoin and Datacoin network share very similar performance characteristics yet we've bundled an additional feature to add value.
Time will tell how the market reacts. Maybe someone should work to help shift some of the XPM mining swarm over to our chain.

I think that will help quite a bit.

It would also be good to have a page kept up in realtime showing the profitability of mining XPM versus DTC so we can track our own flippening there.

Hi Chicago,

I'd love to see a realtime profitability monitor on one of our websites, can someone here create that?

And agreed on the XPM mining swarm.
I've laid a bunch of breadcrumbs all over BTCTalk on each XPM thread I could find a couple weeks ago -- I also started to do so on Twitter with some of the older Primecoin Twitter pages and threads.
Some have already garnered fruit. A couple more miners, and even a pool operator are putting in GPU power to test the waters -- another is playing around with Apertus.
The XPM group that is still there are a dedicated bunch that are understandably disappointed at the lack development by the old Primecoin -- we most definitely should reach out with open arms so we can all pool resources and develop Datacoin into the great force she can be.

Also....  I eagerly await the XPM - DTC flippening!!!   Cheesy

We can only know price when more people trade and dilute effect of individuals. Until then individuals control price, but only individuals who make trades not just offers. Offer means nothing if not accepted by someone. More people will come in time and then price will reveal itself.

WTF is all the talk about manipulation?

Manipulation is huge action to move the CROWD.

There is no crowd yet for datacoin. In small market every individual moves market with every order by definition. Some have bigger wallets than others, that is all. Until hundreds or thousands trade datacoin every day then talk of manipulation is talk of fools.

Yeah, I mean, he can do what he wants to do, but placing orders, than withdrawing or chopping them into small pieces, isn't a market behaviour.
It's too small market, but such action matters - how we can know real price if 1-2 actors, are changing orders, how they like.

Chicago you make a lot of sense.  The price of a mineable cryptocurrency seems to track the difficulty, which is related to the mining.  So if you want to increase the price, you should mine to increase the difficulty.

Weird, I know, but you have spotted the method in the madness.  The other factors in the price are the number of wallets and the number of exchanges.

The mechanism for this behaviour is probably the dynamic difficulty adjustment algorithm.  The more hashpower you throw at the network, the lower the block reward.  This means that the number of coins produced per day drops, because the block time stays the same.  At the moment we are adding about 14000 coins per day to the circulation.  Add more miners and that would decrease to 10000 or even 8000.  Add massive mining pools and you could literally choke off the supply of Datacoin.  While sending the price through the roof.  I have been in contact with one XPM pool and I gave them our code when they asked for it.

@muf18 there is your answer.  Mine some Datacoin.  You will give yourself some free coins AND you will increase the price of Datacoin.  A win-win no?

Cheers.  It has been a great day.

Does anyone know who controls the datacoin-project account at Github?  Seems like a nice handle where we could park our updates.

I have tried to get the co-operation of the owner of the datacoin account, but with no success.

Hello CryptoLuck07,

    We've landed at https://github.com/datacoinproject for 2018.
All of the related projects are there.

Best Regards,
-Chicago
