Found a nifty cryptocurrency search engine while idling in ##altcoins and right now it doesn't look like they've heard of Datacoin.

Good morning,
Just tried this link page 1

Pool Miner
https://github.com/rdebourbon/jhPrimeminer

The mega file is no longer available.
Any chance of a windows binary please.

Also, is there a solo miner for this yet please?

Thanks
J

My miner is a solo CPU miner - I did send a private message for the O.P to be updated - but this hasn't been done yet. To give a rough idea of performance my old Xeon L5340 server is mining roughly 2 blocks a day at the moment while also acting as a file / media server.

What version of windows and what CPU do you have and I'll put a fresh binary build up Smiley

Basically I just need to know if its 64bit (if not why not Tongue) and if your CPU is SSE4/AVX/AVX2.

I've got a few planned updates to the CPU miner - which should make it quite a bit faster.. My proof of concept in .Net currently sieves at almost the same speed as the previous C++ code I had on Github - so watch this space Smiley

Thanks

I plan to publish a short tutorial on Steemit soon, here is a rough draft  Smiley

Datacoin - How to Etch an IBM PCx86 simulator to the Blockchain

Windows Tutorial

1. Go to the new Datacoin annoucement thread and download the latest client.

2. Wait for the wallet to sync then browse to Apertus.io and download Apertus 0.3.11

3. Once Apertus is installed it will need to be configured to work with your Datacoin wallet.

4. Click Help, then select Info and follow the instructions to complete Apertus configuration

5. Browse to https://www.pcjs.org/apps/pcx86/examples/ and download examples.zip.
Extract all files then create a new folder called ibmjs
From the examples folder copy the following files into ibmjs directory
   1981-04-24.json
   components.css
   components.xsl
   example1.xml
   ibm-basic-1.00.json
   ibm-mda-cga.json
   example1.html
   pcx86.js

   Rename example1.html to index.html

6. At this point you should have already setup an Account, Profile and Signature, select attach
and locate the ibmjs folder, hold down ctrl + a to highlight all files then select ok.

7. Click Etch to publish simulator to the Datacoin Blockchain. Note: This may take up to hour
   to complete.

8. On completion your IBM simulator will appear in the main search window. If you receive an
'access denied' error proceed to step 9.

9. Download Micrsoft Edge and set it as your default browser.
Select a blank area of the search window and click create shortcut.

10. Open the shortcut, your simulator should now run inside of the Edge browser.

Sources of Datacoin-hp14 wallet:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz9EpO65pdadS3c3SVlhaXBiR1k

Sources of Datacoin wallet with embedded server fow xpmclient:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz9EpO65pdadY3dLOXp1NVFNSWc

These sources include last patches from primecoin and QT 5. These also include patches for working with last versions of some libraries (f.e. czmq lib).

They are successfully compiled in windows. But I believe they can be compiled (with some minor patches of makefile) on other systems.

Getdata works without problems.

Datacoin wallet with embedded server for local GPU solo mining with xpmclient.

Type "setgenerate true" in debug console for starting server.

Download xpmclient and configure it for localhost or 127.0.0.1.

Awesome news! I will build it later tonight and see if I have the same problems.  I noticed we do not have a datacoin sample out on our Apertus.io website do you mind if I link to this?
It Demonstrates Apertus.io has the ability to make most any blockchain Turing complete. <3

Not at all anything to promote the use of Datacoin and Apertus  Cool

Hi Embii,

I finally got it up and running, here are the steps I took

After following your instructions I could now access the index.html page by default although
it was displaying an "access denied" message.
Thinking this was js realated I changed the registry settings as listed in the Apertus doc
After playing with all the js settings in ie security and advanced options I decided to remove IE11.
Then I ran another search, created a shortcut from within apertus and selected open with edge.
The emulator ran successfully.

To confirm it was downloading from the chain and not locally I removed all folders from the root index and started
the emulator from the shortcut again.
I have also tested the emulator on chrome but received the "access denied" error.
Once I figure out the settings within IE apertus should run as per normal

So sexy, it hurts.
Hi Team,

Am I seeing blocks that are substantially under 60 seconds here (contrary to what we advertise) ?

Windows binaries of Datacoin-hp14.

It is CPU high performance version of datacoin wallet with some last patches from primecoin and QT.

For solo mining type in debug console:

setgenerate true -1

Type getmininginfo for mining stats.

It has been used by me for 1.5 months.

It sends 1% of mined datacoins for donation. It can be changed in command line.

also if you are storing code for later reuse consider storing it along with #keywords  Keywords like twitter tags help people find and discover content.

so for instance the jquery etching should've had a #jquery #JQuery kewords etched.  futures user searching for #jquery will than be able to find the script.

Since you are experimenting keep in mind that Apertus builds a master root index of all etched data that is accessible by any future etchings by referencing the transaction id in your web scripting

example:
../ad262e902b88513ccf6f9fd0b9a01670acb1f9cd7acbd39a90846683e3ce80d6/dtc.jpg

is the permanent direct link to the profile image you just stored on datacoin.  the ../  is required.

this shortcut can be used in future web scripting in lieu of re-etching the file.

here is example of linking to a jquery 1.11.1 script that has already been etched on bitcoin.

the link feature allows an unlimited amount of users to decide for themselves if your content is trustworthy.  by signing it themselves they in effect are sharing your etched content with their own audience or systems...links and signatures allow decentralized trust ecosystems to develop on the chain.

no need to re-etch the whole thing.  consider using the link feature described above.

Hi Atomsea,

Attempting to etch an IBM emulator (javascript) onto the dtc blockchain, when I search
for the rootid it fails to open the index.html by default and instead receive the listing of the
entire directory with each link greyed out.
The rootid is - cc8697edaccfb49261ad0c01a6274dd3007a568677551c30a981d674c5c4ea51
I have no issues running the emulator locally, could this issue be realated to my Apertus settings or file size?
Hoping you might be able to shed some light on this

Thanks

awesome that you are testing scripting.

i found your test on bitfossil.com indexer here: http://bitfossil.com/cc8697edaccfb49261ad0c01a6274dd3007a568677551c30a981d674c5c4ea51/index.htm
i noticed the test was not signed.  signatures and the trust center allow scripted content to come through unfiltered.

Have no fear you can use the link feature to pull your previously etched content into a new transaction root id that has been signed.

copy the transid of your first etching into the search bar and hit [enter] cc8697edaccfb49261ad0c01a6274dd3007a568677551c30a981d674c5c4ea51
the content will display filtered out because unsigned content is not trusted by default.

click on the link icon on the top right corner of the screen.
this will push the trans id into the attach text box.

create a signature if you haven't already  by pressing the + button next to the signatures drop down box. enter a name in the text box that pops up and hit [enter].

make sure the signature and your profile are both selected.
start typing a message to get the etch button to activate if it is grayed out.  if a message is not wanted delete what you typed and the etch button will remain activated.
click the etch button.  wait.... once finished you will now see that your content is no longer filtered out and if you named the file index.html  it should automatically just open up.

here is a video about the trust center to help you understand this functionality.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp-e343kG3w&list=PLDNMoJ2rHmfqn8mlv5V-jcSt7sq2kGTtE&index=16

ALSO: if you would like bitfossil to automatically render your scripted content bitfossil must also trust your signature.   that requires some level of trust be established between bitfossil \ hugpuddle and yourself...because should we trust your signature all scripting and file content you etch will appear in bitfossil unfiltered in real time.

Once my datacoin wallets are synced i will send you a direct message on datacoin testnet should you still need assistance

Thanks for your time.

That is very nice of you.

We need to set up a development fund. Maybe something as simple as a DTC or BTC address.

So sexy, it hurts.
I've asked CryptoId for adding DTC, here's response:

Hello sir,

CryptoId looks very nice and solid. Is it possible to add Datacoin (DTC) to your service?

Coin info:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.1880
New thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2188160.new#new

From a while DataCoin is ressurected and actively developed.

Thank you in advance
MM.

Hi,

I am asking for a contribution to hosting costs of $109 for a year (or $59 for 6 months), via Paypal, BTC or LTC.
Let me know if you are interested!

Thank you for the info MarcusDE.

What does everyone think?
These cats legit?

HugPuddle will gladly pay for 6 months --- perhaps by then we'll have so many Datacoin guru's making nifty tools that we won't need to pay Smiley
