Allright, looking forward for some details improved in the future.
I would like to mention Vericoin & Philosopherstone for inspiration, both with nice POS code.

And for those who didnt saw already, this is the "result" of POW-Mining, a new-rich snob and his poor workers burning as much carbon they can:

To go green as smokers are, POS is the way, thanks for running this coin.

Hi,

i am buying in some coins, because cannabis culture needs support, the POS seems less waste of electricity (better use it for growing) and your claim "freedom is not enough" is simply great.

I just wonder if staking could enlarge the size of the wallet.dat file (why?) and i also was not able to send the complete fund of my wallet, after divide it in three transaction it works.

Cheers

Yes, it does grow, but you can send your coins back to yourself every so often to get the number of inputs back low again.

I don't think there is enough liquidity in DOPE to have it as a payment option. I've been thinking about shops with low liquidity coins and have come to the conclusion that the only way they will work is if the shop owner works for free. Devs work for free, shop owners should work for free also. Instead of trying to make money on a shop. Make money by increasing DOPEs popularity.

Good post Fartbags. There has to be a substantial eco-system built around DopeCoin. I think Price first and liquidity 2nd which is why I'm busy trying to create some initiatives to solve both. I'm not entirely sure what you mean that the store owner has take everything as free , but I think you mean with the hope of the DopeCoin price going up ? so they hold on to their stash ?

#1 thing for me is price. It has to be the cheapest place online. It also has to be possible to buy the coins. If I need 2,000,000 DOPE to buy something then I have to be able to buy them. I wouldn't spend coins that I'm saving.

Ex. I want to order something that costs $200 on your site because it costs $300 on other sites. I would go on bittrex and buy $200 worth of coins all at once. That is the amount of coins I would pay.

Price of items on a store are important I agree.  As a store you have to competitive in the pricing to drive an incentive to go purchase DopeCoin. Which in itself needs to be easy to buy also.

I can't stress how important it is for you to work for free and do not try to make money on this shop through sales. It will never work unless you are working for free.

I personally spend about $20,000 a year online. If you were working for free and selling me that same $20,000 worth of stuff for $15,000 then that would be $15,000 worth of cash going into DOPE just from myself.

Cryptocoins need more people using their skills for free. If you are a quality e-commerce store operator, that is a great skill to have supporting DOPE.

You could be correct. One thing I'm looking at is 'staking' accounts. So when users sign up they get some DOPE which in turn 'stakes'. So this is like an incentive to sign up to a service. For example, can you imagine if you had a betting site , and each time you logged in you got some DOPE in your account say $1-5 bucks worth over the last week. Its a great incentive to sign-up and use a service I believe.  Good post!

This is exactly what I'm intending.    Costs/shipping fees that will come out of my pocket will be an investment in DOPE's future, I don't look it as working for free.   Hopefully I'll be able to offer some merchandise that will motivate people to go into the market and buy DOPE or will motivate someone who wants to unwind their position to instead allow me to take possession of it by bartering for goods instead of dumping it on the exchange.   I feel this is a better contribution to coin's ecosystem than just taking some cash, buying some btc, and making a market buy.  I intend to hold any coins collected until at least the 1k satoshi price point.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was considering letting trusted community members list their own auctions in my shop.    I was wondering if it would be possible to develop an automated way to hold a transaction in escrow until a certain price point is reached on the exchanges.   In other words:  seller lists auction, buyer sends payment, seller delivers the item, funds are held in escrow until DOPE reaches a certain price point on the exchanges and when at least one market buy at that price point takes place the funds are automatically freed.

We need positive pressure in the market (price increase) to increase liquidity.   Hopefully SRR, the multi-pool, my shop etc can provide the escape velocity we require to take DOPE to the next level.

Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

Coming soon!  My online shop that will only accept DOPE.

The URL is registered, software has been selected, and the template is under construction!

Stay tuned for more details!

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

By the way, PM me, if you need help with HTML/CSS.

Thanks man.  I really appreciate the offer but honestly, that's the easy part.   The good news is I'm working from a super customized template of another store I admin already and other than changing lots off CSS values and swapping out some graphics it's mostly a done deal.  Custom graphics are already finished.  I'm dying to share the logo but I'm not ready to share the URL just yet.

I'm in the process of adding an auction module which is a mess but coming along.  I'm toying with the idea of allowing trusted members to list their own auctions too.

I'd rather put the store online with basic beatures first. You can always keep adding something new after the launch, people like updates Smiley

610,000 is nothing! Just wait until the account with 6.7 million DOPE wants to sell.

https://beta.bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-DOPE << click the distribution tab

Since the coins are on bittrex and not safely stored I can only expect they are planning to sell them all off soon.
