I hope they have some good news. Maybe they've got a strategic partnership or a whale investor. Can't wait to hear the news.

Indeed, can't wait either, the announcement of the upcoming announcement has made me curious. Hope to hear some big news.

Is this related to the big announcement?  Shocked Shocked

It says something very special, wish it is related to the big announcement which will bring more confidence to support the project. Lets wait and see!

Beside STO on DUSK, i am more interested in Anonymous Network Layer, Segregated Byzantine Agreement and Secure Tunnel Switching technology.  There are many thing with STO are still up in air,  eventually happen if underlying technology is better.

let's hope they make all that on time. delays will hurt this project. especially considering that the other projects coins are currently being used.

Most of the other STO-oriented projects are all based on Ethereum. Ethereum is very poorly suited for both privacy and security which is exactly what's required by regulators when talking about STO's. Take for instance Polymath; You can't launch an STO on their platform without going through them (getting their approval), which indicates centralization. Using their platform is also done OFF-chain. All they are is a centralised enitity with some aspects related to blockchain. Most of the other projects don't focus on anonymity and privacy which is what is needed to launch an STO. Securities come paired with high KYC standards. If a project want to be fully regulatory compliant they'll need to have the KYC part figured out, it's the most important thing when it comes to securities. It's great to see that Dusk knows what is needed for a network suitable for launching STO's. Hence I don't think they need to rush because of the competition. To be completely honest; there's barely any competition. The other projects trying to accomplish such a platform will not get around regulatory standards, they're doomed to fail.

Anyways, I'm really excited to see how Dusk will tackle the trading of STO's. Perhaps some kind of DEX? you're building a private chain after all. Also can't wait for the exchange announcement this week, if it's a big exchange that's investing in Dusk then I'm sure you guys will deliver!

Interesting to see the difference between dusk network and other project, some competition is good, that mean that there is a market and things to build. Dusk network seems to have very good argument to be a sucessfull project.

One of the strong point of Dusk is that it will deliver a complete solution if they succeed. From payment to data transfer.

Yes, that's why I wanted to invest in DUSK but I can't due to minimum 100 ETH. Anonymity and privacy are a top priority for me.

That's not correct. Any investor will be able to withdraw from the contract at any time. However the contract will only release a certain amount of tokens at a time proportional to the total amount. So if you purchased 1,000,000 tokens you'l be able to withdraw 500,000 of them after 6 months. Only the team has a lockup period of 12 months and after that they'll be subject to the Second-by-Second vesting contract.

Also, I do not quite understand this point: the remaining 500,000 tokens can be withdraw only after a year?

After the private is conducted we will deploy a smart contract which will vest allocations second by second. What this means in practice is that at any point a token investor wanted to release their tokens, they can make a call on the smart contract and then will have access to the total number of tokens that will have vested at that second.

As an example: after the lockup, tokens will be vested over 31,536,000 seconds (365 days x 24 hours x 60 minutes x 60 seconds). If they did it at exactly 6 months, they would receive half. If they did it at 1 day, then 10 days, then 57 days, and then every 3 weeks; they would receive the relevant whole tokens (rounded down) at each specific second.

So imagine you purchased 1,000,000 tokens and want to withdraw the first second;
1,000,000 (total allocation) / 31,536,000 (total seconds in a year) * 1 = 0.032 DUSK

So imagine you purchased 1,000,000 tokens and want to withdraw after a week;
1,000,000 (total allocation) / 31,536,000 (total seconds in a year) * 604,800 (total seconds in a week) = 19,178.08 DUSK

So imagine you purchased 1,000,000 tokens and want to withdraw after a month;
1,000,000 (total allocation) / 31,536,000 (total seconds in a year) * 2,628,000 (total seconds in a month) = 83,333.33 DUSK

So imagine you purchased 1,000,000 tokens and want to withdraw after 9 months;
1,000,000 (total allocation) / 31,536,000 (total seconds in a year) * 23,652,000 (total seconds in 9 months) = 750,000 DUSK

I hope this clearifies it! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask Wink

A nice Dutch review of Dusk Network that has just been released!

If you are from Holland, Belgium or speak Dutch, check out the following link:

Or use a translation website. Often machine translation generates an unreadable mess but this translated review is quite readable. The review explains the rationale behind DUSK and what makes DUSK stand out in the current crypto landscape.

Translator made a very good result in english and german, it was better than many translations from humans to be honest.

Basically we foresee plenty of options to migrate the vesting to the mainnet currency after the token swap moment, so that we do not have to continue vesting an ERC20 for x months after it's no longer relevant, we also foresee we can do this without impacting any privacy or disclosing user info.

Perfectly. That is, you can be sure that you will not require KYC before swap.

is there anyone have created competitive analysis of DUSK platform with other projects in existence?   May help understand value

Dev already posted this comparison table earlier, it's also in the faq section on their website.

Does DASH qualifies to be at the above comparison table? It was also offering anonymous transactions ever since it started as DARKcoin.

The partnership is very important now and they have to strive for partnerships with big companies to succeed.

Yeah, it could be more fantastic if they could get to partner with a company who will adopt the platform as its end user.
yes at this point of the project the partnerships are very important, if they find as partners some companies that will use as a payment method their exchange the success would be assured...

Good point, didn't think about translating it as I'm able to read Dutch. I could possibly post the translated article here in English. It contains a few very good reason to why Dusk is more suitable for launching STO's compared to a few of its competitors.
