Dusk network will support smart contract and tokens with complete privacy. Am i understanding correctly?

You understand correctly. They will be completely anonymous. And we hope that they are safe!

Wow, that means this can be huge.

A complete anonymous network with a smart contract extension. It is unique, and a necessary one.

That is very understandable, I'm sure the devs would make the necessary testings before they release the mainnet to avoid any untoward issues.

Absolutely!

DUSK's use case is not just for the payments only. So, monero and dusk differ in many ways.

That's correct, Monero is mainly used for payments while we will offer much more! Dusk network is a network and as such has a very sharp focus on confidential data transmission. This means unidirectional atomic transaction (transfer of value), bidirectional atomic transactions (purchase of asset - you give money and receive an asset in return) and bidirectional time-unbound transactions (basically streaming, audiovisual calls and conferencing, etc)

This is the simplest explanation anyone can read to know more about the dusk network.

What is this STO? Can you explaine? And at first this will be ERC token and than you will swap to native coins When maiinet launch?

You can read more aboutt ICO's vs STO's here! And yes, DUSK will start out as an ERC20 tokens until the mainnet launch where the ERC20 equivalent must be swapped to the native DUSK token.

So I can safely assume that it will work like Swarm and Waves where you just issue tokens without the need of a smart contract? I always wondered how it works for Waves for example (Swarm just issue tokens based on Stellar's blockchain)
The waves didn't reach the popularity what I was hoping, with each passing day less and less projects create tokens at their platform - although their idea was wonderful.

Why did Waves not become popular? Too many people already using Ethereum? That could become a problem for Dusk. Even if their tech would be better, the best tech does not always win. It is incredibly hard to unseat a platform that has almost a monopoly. How do you convince people to switch from the platform they are used to?

Imho Waves was aiming too low to begin with, and at the start, having roots in nxt coin, they were mainly interested in the tokenisation and the fiat gateway. Not sure what theyare doing now though.

Dusk on the other hand seems to be doing something that has not been done before and having such a bright team, i really think they have an edge on delivering and edge on gaining a monopoly on their field.

Everything about this project is going to be released under github to be publicly available for scrutiny right?

It will be a hard way, yes. You can see it everywhere, also at operating systems or browsers. The best are not the winner today.

then the dusk network will support the smart contracts and tokens, I deduce somehow similar to eth, the wallet has been released and team are testing on it the mainnet, good many wonderful news...

different token betwen ethereum and waves is in contract scrypt. waves is simple contract, you can't custom it as like as you want - like untradeable - but, in ethereum you can.

With good start capial and team you can do all of it without ETH platform, but at leasrt one of you should probably be a genius to do that.

Technical stuff are usually complicated, they demand more knowledge and a lot of testing.

is DUSK planning to have master node architecture to rewards node owners?

they could reward nodes that participate in mixin coins but I don't know if masternodes are planned.

So, i am puzzled by the roadmap and trying to figure it out.... The wallet comes before the testnet... I thought you needed a testnet for a wallet... How does that work? Also what is a devnet?

You're correct! The wallet will be used to test the functionality of the network and will be lacking a GUI for now as there's no need for an average user to use the wallet before mainnet launch. A devnet is required to test the core features of the platform before the launch of the testnet/mainnet to make sure the critical sections of the platform are secure and bug-free.

That is very understandable, I'm sure the devs would make the necessary testings before they release the mainnet to avoid any untoward issues.

In the script, what is the forecast for launching Mainet for testing, is there any kind of volunteer participation for this to happen?

Of course, if there are those kind of problems once its working the damage would be much bigger.
