Critical: Wallet Update (Version 2.0.1.2)

We will post links to updated wallets here, and also on the OP. Links to older wallets have been removed.

These wallets fix a potential slow-acting network bug that starts with orphaned proof-of-stake transactions. Please update your wallets ASAP.

Sources will be available as soon as our repository manager is able to merge the changes (this afternoon), but we want to make wallets available as we get them built.

Sources are now available.

Mac wallet is now available with a special thanks to pcmerc!

Note: Version 2.0.1.2 wallets now clear the "checkpoint too old" warning.

Thanks for the wallet update.  Notice a little action happening on the new exchange.  Still takes the wallet a little time to load, but no issues and all my coins were still there.

Regarding the EBT/USD rates on http://cryptofleamarket.com/rates at the moment we're only calculating the trade volume/pricing from PoloniEX into the rate.

Once EBT gains a little more volume on EuropEX we'll include it into our rate calculator and average the EBT/USD rate across multiple sources like we do with BTC, LTC and QRK.

So don't be alarmed if you see EBT trading for 85 on EuropEX, 34 on PoloniEX and we list a price of 5,496.671 EBT = $1 USD, just part of the volatility of a new market with a limited user base.

If you can get EBT on MintPal, SwissCEX and C-CEX that would be great too.  It would really help stabilize the USD rate we're suggesting buyers and sellers opt for at the flea market.

Speaking of which, we're modifying the back end so sellers can list an item for multiple coins (I want to sell my old blue-ray player for $10 and I'll accept BTC, QRK or EBT for it).

Once we get enough sales data on what people want for their junk and what coin amounts they're selling for we're hoping to compile a separate price index which will value coins against USD not so much on speculative trading via exchanges, but based on real market buying/selling goods and services activity.

This will let us know what price EBT goes for on an exchange, and what price EBT goes for in the consumer's mind and help to separate alt-coin prices from being linked directly to the BTC/USD valuation.

seems like the only people selling EBT are dumpers dumping cheap.  Im holding most of mine for POS and using the rest to buy stuff.

Keep it in your wallet indeed. Smiley

EBT, any chance of coin control features soon?  I read in the HoboNickels forum that it helps in getting rid of dust, and also a human can control what coins they send somewhere according to age, i.e. send the 'younger' coins first.

I have my pool account set up to send chunks of 2000 for interest minting when they mature.

Coin control is slated to be in the release in two weeks. We'll try to push it up. Unfortunately, we need to put out a maintenance release first, which will be available for Windows in a few hours and for Mac most likely tonight.

why from block 262590 to 262821 it took about 13 HOURS(!!!) to generate only 231 block??? it's about 4,4 minutes per block!!!
all my POW mining was orphaned

i think your POS is mess, because it was a very lagging wallet(wallets) with a lot of small transactions, which disables POW mining for that period of time

Thank you for this observation. We are looking into it. We agree that there may be a problem with PoS based on these long block times. As of this moment, this issue is our highest priority.

[update]

We believe that the long block times are related to a bug we previously identified during a code review prompted in part by (but unrelated to) the heartbleed bug. We have made the appropriate changes in the source code and will have at least an updated windows wallet tomorrow. We might have an updated OS X wallet at that time as well, but it may take an extra day because our OS X build environment is temporarily down due to relocation.

Because we believe this problem is related to a bug we have already addressed in a forthcoming update (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6386637), we are confident in saying that the changes have already been extensively tested. We will update the wallets with fixes to this bug before we release wallets with other major new features, due to the potential severity of this bug and the fact that it has manifested somewhat sooner than we expected.

Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention.

Dev, would you be interested in a new website?  Let me know of what you think?  This is just the initial concept and eventually i would like to host it.  Donations welcome.  I really want to help this coin takeoff and i think it has a promising future.

5,092.306 EBT = $1 USD

It's gone up every time I've checked it today.  Still way undervalued though.

That price is heavily tied to a few transactions but it's valid.  EBT is now open for trading on EurpoEU.eu and votes look promising on SwissCEX for future rounds of additions.

This one will be tough to maintain a stable price.  It doesn't look like anyone wants to sell due to staking.

That should raise the price.

Actually, they price things backwards.  So a "higher" price translates into fewer EBT to equal $1 buck.

5,708.263 EBT = $1 USD << current price

It takes 610 more ebt to buy a $1 that it did a few days so while the EBT number went up, the "value" went down some.  Still don't know if I like their "value".  Would I rather see:

5708 EBT = $1

or

1 EBT = $0.000175

Seems a couple pools are 'stuck'.  I am finding lots of new blocks but solving none, or even getting rejects.  Anyone else notice?
