I did it, it worked.  I sent the transaction from Exodus Wallet.  I can't view the returning transaction in Exodus but I see on EtherScan that the Etherball came back in two transactions, just like you said.  Thanks.

Given the once a month waiting period, when is the next time I can claim?  Jan 1st, or one month from today, Jan 9th?

We have published the new distribution smart contract. It got the same functions to distribute the tokens through airdrop; but we have also included a fallback function in it, so everyone can claim the tokens with a 0 ETH transaction. This is the best solution for now to distribute in a jammed blockchain situation. The distribution is already unlocked. Every address can claim the tokens only once; every month we will then unlock the addresses so they can claim again.
We have already sent all the minted tokens to the new contract (transaction here: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x658e950e88c40f3ff61dfc8fcf38442dacf8c4388a9b2769f236986fe1f34756) except for the 5% reserved for the team; and we have also locked forever the old distribution contract (transaction here: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x55d38bd10fbd33556ed94b14c343c9378cd6ba899e147cea1dfa708c897d7fd1) so this can never be used anymore to mint new tokens by anyone.

We decided to raise for the moment the distribution rate:

• For every ETH you will receive 0.1 EBYTE
• For every 1 EBYTE you will receive an additional 0.2 EBYTE (20%)

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Just send a transaction to the contract address: 0xecfe4b7afC47260cB590D3043d3F790a61Bb7910
It is not necessary to send ETH, the transaction can be 0 ETH; we suggest you to use MyEtherWallet (you can send 0 ETH with it), if you use Mist or Metamask you cannot send a transaction without value, the minimum amount is 1 wei (0.000000000000000001 ETH).
What is really important is to set the gas limit to at least 120,000. For the gas price we suggest you to refer to ETH Gas Station website: pick the "Gas Price SafeLow (Gwei)" on top of the page and use it as minimum to avoid to get stuck with the transaction.

When you request the tokens, you will see 2 tokens transaction: the first one refers to the percentage of interest, which will be 0 if you didn't receive any in the first distribution; the second one refers to the distribution based on ETH holding.

UPDATE

We continued to monitor the situation in the last two days but the network is still jammed: right now over 15k transactions are unconfirmed and it's still impossible to perform a full distribution without having an impact of hundreds dollars for our pockets.
Meanwhile we are working on a completely different way of distribution, a new smart contract is on its way to be tested. The idea is to switch to a "self claim" distribution, where everyone can request the tokens with a transaction. We will get you posted in the next days with new updates.

Yesterday was the 3rd of December, and it was intended to be the day of our second distribution.
Unfortunately, not a single transaction passed. Our smart contract requires a lot of gas for the distribution function (4 millions and more) and usually a block can contain up to 6.7 millions gas; but the network is now congested by this new kitties game, as you can see in this chart: https://etherscan.io/chart/pendingtx

We tried a lot of transaction yesterday and today, but only one passed, and we had to pay a lot for that single transaction. As we stated since the beginning, this is a free project maintained for the moment with personal resources, and it is impossible for us to pay 10$ to get every transaction been accepted by the miners (we have to do 86 transactions right now to distribute to all the 8k+ addresses registered).

We decided to suspend the distribution until the network will be usable again, or until we find a new solution.

Unfortunately there is a lot of delay today on the Ethereum network, we sent hours ago the first transactions but they never confirmed.
We worked all day to find a solution to speed up the process of distribution.

The explanation of the ETH/EBYTE ratio is in the whitepaper. The email request is to avoid spam (reCaptcha in Google Forms can be activated only if you request emails). And you don't have to wait endlessly, because the distribution is every month. This is not a fast distribution for fast dumpers, everything is done to have a lot of holders, so the token can raise in value through scarcity and wide consensus

This air drop really doesn't make much sense. Can we get an explanation as to what 18TH being 0.01 byte is? Plus why do we haveto input our emails and wait endlessly? Good looking project though with some potential of the devs execute it

We raised the amount for the second distribution, it doesn't mean it is raised forever. We wanted to attract more people since the first distribution only gave away a few amount (less than 0.01%)
But keep in mind that our basic distribution is: 0.001 EBYTE for 1 ETH, and 10% interest on EBYTE

You're going to end with the same issue Byteball had. Anyone linked with large amounts of ETH just dumps each month. Shouldn't have increased 10x
