If anyone has any script mining asics machines you can put them to use mining ETC.. You wont be supporting the chain because its script but you can still select ETC as your payout
https://prohashing.com
Wow, i have script ASIC!  Can anyone feedback on this site?  Is it a scam?

Don't bother. Just mine whatever your ASIC is for and buy ETC with the proceeds if you want to support it. Paying someone else 5% to do it is ridiculous.
For me the extra fee is worth it.. I have 240Mhs in script asic miners.. I use the prohashing pool because you just select your coin you want to be paid in and the pool switches to whatever script coin is most profitable does all the work for you then pays you in whatever you like.. Its set it and forget it. No cashing out this or that coin then transfering them to a exchange. Then trading them for ETC then withdrawing back to your wallet. Rinse and repeat over and over. This is not for everyone as some like doing it that way. But for me the extra fee is worth it. I can just pick ETC as my payout coin and let the pool figure out what coin to mine and do all the exchange stuff.

It's legit man, I helped them test the pool before it was public. They're good people.

I can confirm, it's a great pool, good people.

bullshit it is merged mining ... you sell your scrypt hashrate against etc.
etc is not mined it is buyed at exchanges ...

so that will not power up the networkhashrate ...

Etc is a minority that selflessly gave to ethf people, they spit on their free hedge and now is when they need it most

Cool!  Cheesy

However, 51% attack gang are hopping threads and up and running again with  DDOS proxies and cloudflare protecting the site

Ethf should learn about the Streisand effect

Ethf is not a coin you want in the future. Think about your children. Do you want them learning about daos, forks and attacks against minorities?

Why wait to sync geth?

MyEtherWallet.com supports Ethereum Classic.  Make the choice when you make the wallet

1etc = 0.0030299btc atm.  or $1.90  Still very cheap.

Would be a shame not to have a few.  Cheesy

50,000 etc on polo. waiting for $4 a piece  Cool

How was ETC launched? Is it also premined as ETH?

no it is the real ethereum..the other eth is hardforked!
there is no premine!

So where do these 82 million ETC come from?

From ethf users. They had etc. We did not and had to buy. This is the fairest launch I've seen.

By the way, is classic going to switch to POS as ETF?
Become an ETC miner and you will have a say no doubt.  It's not the dictatorship ETH was.

Does it mean that if the miners do not want the PoS, there will never be a PoS in the Ethereum Classic?

We aren't sure yet but there's strong talk of supporting our miners and I don't believe in pos.

Your BIOS will say somthing like, "turn off embedded graphics when gpu detected = y-n"

You need to do this before you connect any gpu to mobo and not after.

depends on the mobo/os maybe.

just built an eth miner with a gigabyte z97x/celeron 1840 with integrated graphics. took the mobo out of the box, plugged the r9 390 in, hooked the monitor to the 390 instad of the mobo, installed ubuntu 15.10 and the amd video driver and started mining with the same config that the other builds have. no platform switch needed for me. claymores dual miner.

As mentioned a cpl of times now, if u use claymores miner, you wont need to specify card or platform.

No problems mining with active onboard GPU.. u can use that gpu for a monitor.
Some mobos disable onboard if gpu detected, but it does not hinder mining in any ways. (as long as u specify what to mine with)
(atleast the ones ive used. Intel, Asus and MSI mobos)

Im pretty sure the "no suitable gpu" message from the original ethminer and genoils is solved by --opencl-platform 1
(0 is the onboard gpu.. you could try 2 if 1 fails you have a special setup.)

ETC has no future. Is any smart-contracts on it? ETC without contracts useless.
At least one I know of that has left bailout fork for ETC

BETH has no future.  BailoutEdition is just Vitalik's useless vanity project.

This was known before the fork.  Where have you been?

Quote
Ethereum has value for one reason and one reason only — it is the turing complete, smart contract protocol. In other words. ETH’s value is a direct result of the value of smart contracts and Ethereum’s position as the premier protocol for them. On June 17'th, The DAO, a smart contract running on Ethereum was savaged. We must now choose to respond in one of two ways:

1.  We can learn a lesson and build better smart contacts in the future

2.  Or, we can reverse the flawed smart contract and pull the rug out from under Ethereum forever

There is something far bigger than The Dao, or even Ethereum, at stake here: the very idea of immutable smart contracts. The core promise of smart contracts was brilliantly articulated by The DAO. They are designed to operate “solely with the steadfast iron will of unstoppable code.” The core idea here is that the code is the contract, and that it does not require or allow human intervention or interpretation. It is automatic and “autonomous”. Deterministic outcomes based on code — that is the value.

This value, of deterministic outcomes is 100% dependant on being able to run on a protocol that can be trusted to operate according to deterministic rules known in advance. That is what Ethereum must be. What is being now suggested is to go and change the protocol level rules, retroactively, because of an exploit discovered in one contract on the application level. To do so, would destroy the very trust that makes all contracts on the application level possible.

A lot of people have been pointing out that Bitcoin also forked in the early days. This is true but also very misleading. Bitcoin only forked when the protocol was broken. Never when the protocol worked as intended but the results were uncomfortable.

Another argument made in favor of forking is that consensus is created “by the community”. That “the miners can vote”. This is even more subtle and misleading. Miners are not meant to be the final arbiters of transactions and contracts. By design, they are supposed to be dumb slaves of the protocol rules. A dumb lottery validating transactions according to deterministic rules. If they need to employ good judgment, we are at the mercy of their good sense.

It comes down to is this:

1.  If smart contracts must be interpreted by humans for their “intent” instead of by code for their programming
2.  Then smart contracts cannot be autonomous and automatic
3.  And instead can be retroactively reversed by the community, the courts or governments
4.  In which case it’s hard to see what value smart contracts actually have
5.  Which means that it’s hard to see that Ethereum should have any value at all

The only way for Ethereum to be able to recover from this event and thrive in the future is for it to stick to its principles. This is the hard choice. And it is the only choice.

It's legit man, I helped them test the pool before it was public. They're good people.

I don't dispute that but 5%?  I am better off taking the coins from my current scypt mining and buying some ETC Cloud Mining contract as my scrypt miner will not help bump up ETC hashrate directly.

Most pps pools charge higher fees I guess because every share is counted and in theory you should get a little more, they split your hash over several coins along with merge mining. I have had days where the profitability on that pool was 2 or 3 times more than any other scrypt pool, mostly if one of the coins went up significantly in price or a new scrypt coin launched that went well (I know Longshot these days lol) they're algo for which coin to mine is pretty awesome and it's set up to buy when the price is lower which is an easy mindless way to help support the price. anyway, just sharing my experience with prohashing, your call on whether to mine there or not

They are the original 82 million coins, the hard fork went to a new chain with new coins. If you had ETH coins before you still have them on the ETC chain, and also the NEW chain for ETH.
