By the way, is classic going to switch to POS as ETF?
Become an ETC miner and you will have a say no doubt.  It's not the dictatorship ETH was.

Does it mean that if the miners do not want the PoS, there will never be a PoS in the Ethereum Classic?

We aren't sure yet but there's strong talk of supporting our miners and I don't believe in pos.

It's understandable. However, you have to deal with exponential growth of difficulty:
https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/blob/v1.4.7/core/block_validator.go#L264
Code:
// (parent_diff + parent_diff // 2048 * max(1 - (block_timestamp - parent_timestamp) // 10, -99))
Code:
// the exponential factor, commonly referred to as "the bomb"
And if I got it right, it should kick in somewhere around 1e6 blocks from now. Roughly speaking it's around 6 months.

UPDATE:

http://51pool.org/#/miners  hashrate climbing fast again.  4 miners joined in the last 15 min

51% attack hashrate: 7 GH/s  and 14 miners

ETC network hashrate: 567.8 GH/s

China markets open shortly.  Lets hope they want to buy some ETC and sell ETH

I'm pretty sure that with some minimal effort I could set up my own pool and show any numbers I want on the front page.

What I'm trying to say is that if you don't support their effort then don't give any daylight to their claims, other than to ridicule them  Grin

This is just a threat from angry fork supporters. A wise miner knows that it is more profitable to mine the original chain side by side with the fork. It would be a waste of time and energy destroying the original chain. It is also stupid because it is like throwing money away.

So will ETC surpassed the ETH price?
I was thinking maybe if ETH will soon lose the battle ETC will survive along with BTC. do you think its possible or they are both here to stay?

I also hear ELC (Ethereum lite coin) is coming...backed by...Fontas !!

Most people in crypto have more respect for fontas than a bunch of developers that fork a blockchain so they don't lose money.

Ξpool - Updates

1. Payouts have been updated from daily to continues. Meaning as soon as one payout batch is done, the next payout batch begins. Depending on your hashrate, you should see a payout within just a few hours after you start mining.

2. Minimum payout has been raised to 1ETC. This allows for miners to mine directly to an exchange such as poloniex

3. Performance tweaks have allowed Epool to achieve 0% orphan rate. See here http://www.epool.io/#/blocks/pending

4. Front-end updates and cleaner website for better miner experience.

5.  Automatic block maturity after 540 blocks. Updating every minute. So you should see updates to your account page within minutes after you start mining.

6. Automatic Database pruning implemented for better performance.

Thanks,
