Bank of England Considering Opening Up Access to Monetary Reserves Through Blockchain Technology  Shocked
http://www.trustnodes.com/bank-of-england-considering-opening-up-access-to-monetary-reserves-through-blockchain-technology

I remember Mark Cairney BOE boss saying in a report that they are working with Ethereum (ETH)
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4omr7e/bank_of_england_using_ethereum_yes_the_central/?st=isv2pxha&sh=2c2b8275

Our view is that it is important to gain further experience in this area. In particular, we would like to explore
the following areas:

Scalability
we would need assurance that a system could be scaled in such a way that it operates with total data integrity, and reliably at the high speeds and volumes required by central bank infrastructure

Security
we will need certainty that the privacy of the data in distributed ledgers cannot be compromised by cyberattack, now and in the future

Privacy
current protocols require a trade off between privacy and resilience or DLT to be used in any central bank application, a high standard of both would be required

Interoperability
we would like to understand how existing data standards and infrastructure might interact with distributed ledgers

Sustainability
DLT systems typically use more energy and require more data storage than traditional ledgers for equivalent transaction flows. An important consideration therefore is how these
can be minimised as systems increase in scale.

I think after Devcon2 most of these issuses will be resolved.....Raiden, Hawk, ZK snarks are a few that will be shown next week  Smiley

In this post we’ll outline where we think the digital currency industry is headed and how the world will come to have an open financial system. We believe there will be four major phases (which we compare here to the internet).

Can you provide any proof of any break thorough or innovation delivered by ETC?
Sure. Code is the law. Something where the ETH fork totally failed.

ie. no

There is no need to think hard. What you really need is just watch. ETHC showed you where the digital currency industry is headed and ETHF showed how the world will come to NOT have an open financial system.

Can you provide any proof of any break thorough or innovation delivered by ETC?

Or, is this just something that you've been imagining in your fantasies!

Thomson Reuters is a well-respected name in the world of finance and research. In recent months, the group has been focusing its attention on blockchain technology. To be more precise, they have taken a liking to what Ethereum has to offer. The company is now partnering with Ethereum and a few others to host a weekend-long blockchain hackathon in London, England.

It seems eth etc both are in coma. Tiny volume, least movement in price, lack of general interest. If this condition persists newcomers will never know about these 2 coins in near future.
etc is not even worth mentioning nowadays

as for ETH, im gonna be buyin up all as i can before i go to Devcon....i know for 100% there is gonna be some huuuuuge breakthroughs for the entire crypto world over that week.
im so tempted to goto my cold store of ETH which has a good amount of shitcoin etc attached..dump them and get even more ETH Cheesy

ENJOY the last of cheap ETH as these days are almost over, very very soon new deals and new players join us  Wink

Can you imagine a massive hack on a bank, prison, or other record keeping system? What if all backups are destroyed? All of a sudden the records are gone and who has what money or time remaining?

Some kind of simple backup into the blockchain creates an immutable backup. Bitcoin or etc only. Unless you want eth forks, centralized "blockchains," or databases that will become corrupt.

So tell me...are etc devs thieves?

Everybody cool down, please!

Many people who are investing in Ethereum have no plans to invest in Bitcoin.

Because Ethereum has brought so many new people into the world of crypto currencies - a lot of people have gone off on tangents and are imagining these new people have an interest in alternatives to Ethereum!

Let me put it very crudely: Vitalik et al are trying to shape our digital future.
That digital future where "code is the law"?...

becoin here is a prime example of someone who couldn't give 2 fucks about ethereum until bitpop and the no clue crew made etc a masturbation tool for recessive bitcoiners.

ETH isn't viable even with all the fruitless hype

You could have had a product (sort of) if you had stuck with your original copy/paste course. But you, of course, bent over and took it when the anti-forkers and anti-pos people from Bitcoin started throwing their weight around. It's really quite sad to see someone deteriorate like this.

Let me put it very crudely: Vitalik et al are trying to shape our digital future. You are some Bitcoin whales' cum rag.

What do you think will happen when they've relieved themselves?

Any of you dumping ETH for ETC?

Look at coinmarketcap.com for your answer.

However, some notable bitcoiners went batshit when the dao-fork was initiated. Some, like Barry Babyface Shillbert bought a truckload of etc even though he a has publicly said he doesn't see the point in Ethereum. So there will probably be some hate-fueled turbulence to make money off. But etc and its nutty supporters will eventually fade into insignificance, so don't become a bagholder.

Any of you dumping ETH for ETC?
All Ethereum investors are doing that except those emotionally attached to the ETHF, because Ethereum central bank (aka Ethereum Foundation) attempted to bail them out of failed DAO.

I do not think this is true. ETH's support at 186k satoshis is still holding strong. I have been following this and I have been waiting for it to break down. So far nothing is happening.

Yes, the price is holding pretty strong, but the volume decreases. Few weeks/months ago ETH had always the biggest volume, but now it's being below of few other cryptos.
The volume is still resonably high, but ETH's credibility is definitely lower imo than it was before The DAO.
