Is there anywhere I can download the entire blockchain in the zipped?
I want the same. My internet speed is not that good and it would be easy for me to download the whole file in zipped form. please help me
There are 2 options currently with Geth:
1) On a fresh install you can enable fast blockchain download for a clean install or re-install: "--fast"
2) Then for normal running, increasing the cache size from default cache size of 128MB, you can boost internet speeds by 50% by using "--cache=1024".

Using Ubuntu 16.04LTS:
I simply saved the "Keystore" folder (where all you're wallets are), before doing anything.
Deleted everything related for 0.8.2 (except for "Keystore" folder, which was saved to a temporary location and a USB drive).
Installed 0.8.3 and downloaded the entire bockchain (only takes 40 minutes to download the entire blockchain on Ubuntu 16.04LTS).
Closed 0.8.3 down.
Moved my "Keystore" folder back to hidden Ethereum folder in the Home directory.
Re-ran 0.8.3 and everything was as shinny new

Parity is rock solid, kept the network alive during a major crisis (especially given the timing) and prevented a panic.
The Geth developers are nothing less than unreal. The time it took them to respond and deliver couldn't be matched even by the likes of google or apple.
Also a big shout out to all of us, the community for keeping our calm and actually being helpful by not panicking, by switching to a working client and by not putting extra pressure to the shoulders of the developers.

I think most non-devs don't get how extraordinary it is to have such a fast and committed response from devs.
This is what sets Ethereum apart in my mind. Yes, it is open source, but it also has professional and committed visionaries behind it.

I am wondering is this problem that you are talking about explain why my wallet will not download beyond block 2,287,977. I have rebuilt the db three times and the ethereum wallet / Geth keeps crashing.
