I though it will be just one-to-one ProgPow changed for Expanse but it looks quite interesting - so after that Ethereum and Expanse mining algorithm will be different? Won't it hurt mining availability? now it is ease to switch from ETH to Expanse; some people has Expanse mining set as failover etc.

Why did you go with a custom algo and not another existing like progpow or ubiqhash?

Well, we have worked on EXPEX but the legal atmosphere around running an exchange is just absolutely insane. Thats why most exchanges are either in a country where you can buy off the regulators -cough binance malta cough- or they made enough money to pay the cost before the feds started cracking down on it. Meh.

I was joking because of your other conversation, but you know what? You come across as someone I want to talk to. I think I can learn from you. Would be up for a call?

Yes there was a chain reorg. We arnt sure if it was intentional or accidental but either way it doesnt matter because we have added PirlGuard to help protect against reorgs.

In order to maximize the integrity of our blockchain, we have decided it is in the best interest of our network and community to employ a unique mining algorithm. We are the only Ether fork to use this algo. We are looking for a developer to help us create the GPU miner for our unique algo. If you would like to help us test the new algo then reach out via discord. The new algo is on github in the "frankomoto_with_blocklock" branch.

ALGO SUMMARY

On target epoch an algo switch is scheduled.
Light cache generation switches from Keccak to Sha512.
Whole DAG has to be regenerated from Light cache.
Mining algo changes from Keccak to Sha512.

There is 100k EXP bounty for this development.
