Yes, this thread has been reported to the bitcointalk moderators to be closed, because gladimor is not involved

The new thread is this one:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702675.new#new

We have currently a core team with three people:  smartaction, drakandar and thokon00, and the new thread is managed for all of us.

Indeed, because they are the heart and soul of every coin. A community needs a leader that will guide them and eventually make the coin succeed.  Only few people would be interested to invest on a coin without an active dev.

Nice to see this coin's being given new life. Easy to pump this one and love the name. Since when is the team working on its rebirth ? Also, are you going to keep this using this thread ? The creator hasn't logged in for a month and that's just scaring away people...

Hi all,

the 2nd hard fork happened at block 15680 (2014-07-24 18:54:34 GMT) and so far everything works as expected  Grin

For those of you who didn't update yet, please DO IT NOW! If you mint on the wrong block chain your staked blocks are LOST. And don't move any funds around until you update your wallet to v1.1.1 or you will LOOSE COINS!!

So, please: UPDATE YOUR WALLET NOW!

You can get the wallet v1.1.1 for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X here: http://fair-coin.org/#wallet

Hi all,

I have some good new and some bad news.
The good news:

Block 15555 has been reached, the network runs as expected, users are updating their wallets and FairCoin has transitioned into it's new phase where the development team has full control over all built in security features:

  • Sync-Checkpoints
  • Network-Alert system to notify users of important issues (see here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Alerts)
  • Supportive mining with the energy efficient myriad-grøstl algorithm as well as the well known scrypt and sha256

All wallets for all operating systems are available and work as expected. With one exception.

The not so good news:
Supportive mining is not working at this time because of a bug in the transaction checks which do not allow such a tiny reward amount of only 0.00001FAC. All mined blocks (not the staked blocks) are currently rejected.

Transparency is very important to us and this is why we do communicate promptly and exactly what happened. Therefore I have opened an issue at github every body can look at: https://github.com/FairCoinTeam/fair-coin/issues/3

The bad news:
To fix this bug another hard fork is necessary. There is a team meeting taking place shortly where we will decide about the further steps.

We will keep you up-to-date frequently.

I want emphasize one more time: the network is safe and works as before.

Just updated to the latest wallet, after not looking in on FAC for a few weeks.

Managed to get the new wallet at block 15533, just 22 blocks short of the hard fork!

What will happen to others who don't have the updated wallet? Will they loose their coins?Huh?

As smartactions stated correctly: No coins will be lost, if you don't move them.

But all stakes old wallets mint are lost!

So, everybody please update now!

See here: https://chain.fair-coin.org/rt/connected-nodes.html. All red lines are old wallets, that will be disconnected from the network after block 15555.

At time of writing: only 18 block left! (https://chain.fair-coin.org/chain/FairCoin)

Maybe not, I guess.

In order to not lost the coins they need to update the wallet before move the coins.

anyway i wonder that stake in the old version will not work, so anyway update as soon as possible!
only 20 blocks to the hard fork!

i noted this:

Generated coins must mature 25 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

maturation time for spending was reduced in this wallet version ? or i missed something.

No, the displayed value has been corrected to reflect the real value.

IMPORTANT

FairCoin wallet release v1.1.0. Get it here: http://fair-coin.org/#wallet, sources: https://github.com/FairCoinTeam/fair-coin.git

This is a hard fork release (@block 15555) (planned about thursday!). Please update your wallet immediately. If you do not update you won't be able to sync to the network and you even might loose coins.
WARNING: always backup your wallet.dat file prior updating

Change log(v1.1.0):
- added new checkpoint and activated synchronous checkpointing
- re-activated mining for the following algos: grøstl, scrypt and sha256
remember this is NOT a PoW coin but PoS, if you mine this coin you only supports the network.
The reward is only 10 satoshis
- unlock wallet menu item and unlock wallet button (to easily start minting blocks)
- updated to Qt5
- testnet optimizations
- immediate availability of binaries for the following operation systems:
Linux 32 and 64bit, Windows 32 and 64bit, Mac OS X and RasperryPi

Anyway as Thomas has stated go to the new ANN for further comments and questions

Again an interesting and fruitful meeting yesterday - but still too much material to discuss in such little time Tongue
Sunday will be the next meeting.

In the meanwhile I'm on TestNet testing out the new wallet...
