How big is the fastcoin block chain these days?  How fast does the block chain data grow?  Is there a client other than the Satoshi client for it?

Guys this coin BADLY needs a bootstrap to atleast the last few days. I downloaded a bootstrap that said it was until april 2015, and it took me to February 2015 and on 100Mps cable connection STILL takes over 10 hours to finish as there are over 4.5 million blocks!!

Vegas

The only boostrap I was getting to download was until jan of '14.. so you're lucky! And then it literally took 3 days to sync from there. Updates to their site are definitely needed. New everything! like 2 listed pools work.. Im trying to set up my own p2pool right now.. but stuff like this is giving me concerns..

Yeesh.. such annoying faults.

Anyway, dumpprivkey MY_ADDRESS gives me a result of "Private key for address MY_ADDRESS is not known (code -4)" Am I not doing it right? I already unlocked the wallet too..

I've got an unsent transaction stuck in my wallet, I just sent 20,000 FST and was sending 11k.. But it's not showing up in the blockchain, is there a fix for this? I already tried restarting the wallet and resynching the chain.

export your private key
rename wallet.dat
import your private key

Do this for all of your addresses

I have noticed that transactions over 5k typically don't work.  Sometimes even 4k or 5k don't work -- and this is with paying a high fee.

Hi - was curious why does your pool show a high DOA rate?

Also - there is a FST Block Explorer at:  http://fst.webboise.com

I've found the only way to mine this coin with any success is to create your own private pool and even with that you have to stay on it.  Takes a while - but you eventually find that "secret sauce" - lol.

Hey FSTcoin dev, please look into this: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/faq.dws

You need a good chain explorer

I fixed it using -rescan option.

Worked like a charm.

The transaction is not lost.

Your wallet thinks it was sent when it may not have been transmitted properly.

You can recover the transaction by dumping private keys and moving them to a new wallet.

I wrote a tiny script to do that here: https://github.com/ethought/PrivateKeyMover

Wouldn't -salvagewallet on the commandline do pretty much the same thing? If I understand correctly, it forgets then rebuilds the transaction list by rescanning the block chain, matching private keys to transactions included in blocks. I could be wrong.

Anyone here?  Or is this the wrong forum?

So I sent a transaction of 15,000 FST - and it never showed up or confirmed.  I even included a very good transaction fee of .1 FST.

Any idea to salvage this?  I would hope this isn't lost forever?  It was sent about 4 days ago.

I've restarted my wallet many times.  Nothing.  I am successful at sending 5,000 FST at a time, however, and it is super fast.

Look here on resolving orphan transactions.

0.1 FST for 15,000 FST doesn't seem very good.

Sorry - the transaction fee was actually 73.50 FST (maybe it was .1 FST per 1kB).  Thanks for everyone's response.  I'll try the script.

So what is the maximum one should send per transaction?  And should the transaction fee be higher than .1 FST per 1kB?

This coin is super fast, when I was sending 5000 FST to Cryptsy at a time.  Love it!

What was the name of that crap China shut down a couple years prior to Bitcoin, can't remember.

I don't know, but that statement

So true. Evident by the fact that NO centralized coin has a future. Unless you have a border and an army, you can't host a centralized currency. Its only inevitable you get shut down by the local authority.

is just pure Evil.

I'm going to be angry with myself when I remember the damn name. Point is. Someone opened up their own currency in China pre-bitcoin. It became popular with locals and merchants. Fully in use as a currency within a region. . . Seeing it as a threat to authority, Chinese government descended on their head offices and shut it down, arrested a bunch of people. They would have done the same thing to Bitcoin 5 years ago, but decentralization makes it impossible stop. That's what makes Bitcoin different. You take away the decentralization you have nothing. What's the point?

And its happened over and over in history. Currency is sovereignty. You set up your own currency you are declaring sovereignty. Governments don't generally like you doing that within their borders.
