Satoshi's Treasure: There is a real scavenger hunt with $1,000,000 worth of BTC to be claimed by the winner.  It could be fun to put together a team and combine efforts in a chance to claim the prize.  Anyone interested head over to the Ubiq Community Discord #geo channel.

weifa, I'm interested what made you choose to transfer geo mainnet to ubiq blockhain? since ethereum blockchain is more famous it could be more rational to move to ethereum. are there any technical advantages for geo project as to moving to ubiq blockchain? maybe you described it earlier but I think I missed it

I think a major reason was reliability and the team he was able to work with would be some reasons.  Eth can be a bit difficult to navigate development wise with coming changes to POS. I would assume that and the smaller DAG size with Ubiq which will allow for smaller miners to contribute for a longer time frame is another reason, this also reduces bloat on the chain.  I would venture a guess that the monetary policy was a big factor too.   Just speculation on my part till Weifa pops in..

Hope some of that helps.  Ubiq is like a Honda imo, super relaible, durable and plenty of leg room for TXs
Yes I agree with Crypt0ptimus, reliability and security were the main driving forces that made us decide on the Ubiq blockchain.  Follow the links within the tweet above for more in depth information.

The Ubiq developers were very helpful during the onboarding process and assisting us with the swap.  We are very happy to be part of the Ubiq Network and I also feel that many tokens can get lost in the dilution of tokens found on the Ethereum Network.

As requested, we were able to implement a directional vector arrow into our GPS location for collect mode.  This new vector arrow will help users navigate their way to the nearest $GEO using their choice of map orientation option.  Please try it out and let us know your thoughts!

Here is a link to some gresh gear with GEO branding as well folks... Some great designs coming from @TunaChum!  https://www.cryptanthropy.com/gearshop  We have prints from GEO BTC UBQ and DOGE, even a few of our own designs.

Check back often as we try to release a new print every day or at least expand on the existing prints with new product.  If you see a print you like but not the item please drop me a line.  Trying to get everything represented fully.   Feedback and tips on your experience on the site is really valued.

You get a killer shirt, Tuna gets 5 bucks, another 5 goes to further our #RandomActsOfKindness project with about 3 odd dollars to support website hosting fees and whatnot.  So a little markup on our cost but well worth it imo.

Be sure to check out our link at the bottom of the page for Coincards.ca https://coincards.ca/?ref=Cryptanthropy as well and buy some gift cards with that digital currency.  Every sale supports our efforts via referral.

Here is a sneak peak on the next Geo shirt in development...  https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/550375022183841793/558256915029950464/preview.png

We have fine tuned this new map orientation option to be more responsive based on direct feedback from our community of beta testers.  An additional 1,300+ GEO have been dropped onto the map for collection.  Please try out the new collection mode option and let us know what you think!

Just added another feature based on direct request from some beta testers.  There is now a new map orientation option available under your user settings.  Users can now select a "Track Up" option which will follow your movements automatically while tracking down $GEO in the wild.

PoL was expected to launch by Q3/Q4 of 2018 and then again postponed, I understand this but at this point I begin to disbelieve in GEO for the following reasons:

1. No whitepaper yet
2. No documentation / preview of PoL
3. No estimated launch date -- not really a reason, but still good to clarify this

We don't even know if the PoL is it really going to be an algorithm or just a centralized web interface with a distributed supply owned by creators of GEO.
According to your latest updates (with some beta tests completed) I assume you are very close to give us an estimated date of launch and if that is the case it would be highly appreciated to clear the first two doubts I've mentioned above.
Looking forward your reply weifa, have a good day!
Thanks for your questions, I'm happy to provide some answers as best as I can.

We have never had a GeoCoin whitepaper and I don't plan to create one at this time.  In terms of a preview for the PoL system, we have been running our 2nd phase of beta testing since early this year and the results and feedback coming back are great!  The Proof of Location process is not an algorithm, it is more a user driven experience where you drop a magnet to attract GEO to nearby green spaces (parks and rec areas that should hopefully be safe for people to collect GEO at).  Since GEO is now an ERC20 token on the Ubiq Network, it can no longer be mined using traditional GPU POW mining.  The Proof of Location process allows users to 'mine' the remaining supply of GEO by turning on their smartphone GPS and navigating to the location.  This will allow us to continue to increase our Circulating Supply and it acts as the Coin Supply Inflation in a sense.  Your last question is in regards to an estimated launch date.  As I've mentioned in the past, we have partnered up with the KryptoTech.io team for their assistance with our wallet backend.  I'm currently trying to work with them to figure out a more solid timeline, but the last I had heard they were estimating it could be complete within a matter of a few months.  I realized this has been said before as I originally had wanted to release it by the end of 2018, but due to their availability it has been postponed.

The GeoCoin project is an ongoing project and we're pretty excited about all the progress and improvements we've been making recently with the assistance of our beta testers.  I personally can't wait until everything is fully up and running and will do whatever it takes to get us there.  Let's keep it GEOing!

Found out the Search feature was acting up over the weekend based on beta tester feedback. We were able to resolve the issue by updating our Mapbox GL JS core and geocoder API's. Keep the feedback coming!
