The amount is never known before distribution because the dev has a finite supply of coins and it depends on the number of participants in each round. However, he has said he will make up for the big gap between drop 4 and 5 so we can expect a healthy sum.

I agree that the number of participants can not be known, but there is always a pool dedicated to reward. Of course it is better to know in advance.

Just as an FYI, the Mac wallet seems to work fine. I've left it running on a server I have running 24x7 anyways and have received a few coins from staking. Not going to get rich :-) but better than nothing.
