I have a old wallet cold storage, saved the wallet.dat file. I can just import that/copy that file over to the new wallet version and be OK right? Or do I need to do something special? Havent touched that one in like 5-6 months.
With the latest wallet version it says Syncing Headers in bottom left corner than stays seemingly stuck at last received block, which was 5 days ago it says. One time I left it like this for a long while and it completed sync but IDK how long that took. Its abnormal to me cause the guncoin wallet would sync so fast usually leave it open and itd complete sync within 3-5 minutes (depending on how far its been since I opened it last)
This newest wallet took some time to initially sync after reindexing, maybe a good day.
To answer your question though...I believe so.
That said, what I would try is:
Make sure that you have a backup of that original "wallet.dat" file.
Drop that into your Guncoin folder, most likely under "Your User Name/AppData/Roaming/Guncoin".
But I WOULD NOT be overwriting any wallet.dat file that may have different addresses in it, ie...newer deposits, if you have multiple wallets.
Download the newest version, and start her up.
It should install, reindex, and sync, but take a while this first time.
Should be quick as usual after that.
There was some good discussion regarding some of this on the Telegram for GUN last week.
