Hello when the cryptopia open input and output gun ?

Let me try and describe what happened to GUN on Cryptopia a few days ago and why we requested them to halt our trading and put GUN in Maintenance mode until further notice.  Over the past week, GUN and many other coins who follow the Bitcoin Core technology were attacked when someone found a latent vulnerability in the BTC Core code and exploited it on several exchanges including Cryptopia.  This was NOT a 51% attack, we have code to protect against that.  It was a vulnerability exploit in the Bitcoin Core code that has existed since Bitcoin Core 0.14.0 (up to 0.16.0).

The attack created an illegal block, GUN V1.5 accepted and checkpointed it, GUN V1.4 rejected it. GUN V1.5 checkpointed the illegal chain. The attackers sent more than 400M in one illegal transaction, that's more coins than we have to date. Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 (GUN V1.5) thought there was nothing wrong with that unfortunately due to the exploited vulnerability. This bug had been present since Bitcoin Core 0.14.

So Bitcoin Core 0.16.3 was released to solve the problem and protect against further similar attacks.  This is what we have included in GUN V1.5.1 which we highly recommend upgrading to immediately.  That being said, it will take a LONG time to sync as it is checking each transaction - that takes a while.

As to what was lost by Cryptopia or our GUN traders who were in the middle of the mess, the outcome is still in question.  Cryptopia froze BTC transfers, but not sure when and how much was saved.  In reality, those transactions should be reversed within a few days. If the BTC was saved by Cryptopia, it will be returned.  If not, you will get nothing as they have a disclaimer protecting themselves against a loss of this type.  Likewise, since the code came from the Bitcoin Core community, there will be no liability on their part either - they published the update and we got it out within hours of discovering the issue.  

Our Guncoinpool.com is being updated now as are a few other pools.  Once this is done and we see clean blocks being mined, we will have Cryptopia start trading GUN.  Again, we thank our programmers and team for getting the word out quickly and the fix in place as soon as possible.

Yes, it was and still is for all the Bitcoin Core based altcoins.  We have completed and published all the updates - please pass the word to all.  The Guncoinpool.com mining pools should be running the new code by Wednesday or Thursday.  Once that is done and we see the blockchain results that we are expecting, we will have Cryptopia take us out of maintenance mode and do their update as well.  Thanks for your support.  We thank Bushstar and many others for VERY prompt action in getting this issue resolved quickly.

Upgrade done..

Team Guncoin is releasing a mandatory security patch upgrade - GUN Core V1.5.1.  This is required due to a recent Bitcoin Core Team announcement of a vulnerability that was discovered last week in 0.16.0.  As a result, Bitcoin Core is now at 0.16.3 and that includes the patch to eliminate the risk of the vulnerability to be exploited.

If you are running 1.5 and have already synced past the block with the illegal TX then you will need to start 1.5.1 with reindex=1 in your conf file, remember to remove that line before the next time you start.  We have had Cryptopia to put GUN in Maintenance mode UNTIL the majority of the blockchain is on the new code.  We will also update the seed nodes and the GUNCOINPOOL.com mining pool as well.  We will be updating website and OP here shortly.

I took a look at your facebook page, you seemed to have gotten a bunch of people interested who know literally nothing about crypto currencies which is always a good thing. This will be interesting to follow, good luck.

What version do you have? Information is very small. Probably need to add a screenshot because everyone seems to work. At me like all worked but the laptop on which costs already week was not updated so for me still it is impossible to look local or global failure all the same.

My god...Guncoin...How have we been!! Its been years since i have been here, used to be a supporter back in the day.  What’s the good word? Tokens i see in the mix?

Sorry, GUN devs are not into that kind of crap.  We report the newbies as spammers (which they are) as fast as we find them and try to get their post deleted.  We are successful about half the time.  They serve no vale to this thread, the coin or or community.  FYI, watch other threads and you will find the same ones hitting them too.

Been watching this thread and I would bet those n00b accounts were silently accumulating and now want the Devs to do a heavy pump lift for them so they can dump.

As far as I heard this plans do not have competitors? There are those that partially do what they plan to do, but no one completely? Is there already a minimum working product?

Hmmm, still a little skeptical about them if they are real or not.

We are using Telegram frequently, Facebook, here and Twitter.  While we have looked at Discord, we do not see it of much interest to the GUN community.  There is only so much social media that we can adequately monitor and maintain at one time.
