Does the prototype calculate the real tasks or is it a imitation?

Those are real tasks.

If these are useful calculations, then you need to encourage the use of the prototype even in the test network. Can then swap test coins for coins from the main network. Otherwise, what the sense of constantly using the prototype?

You have a good point look at IDENA the coin is in testnet but all the coins that miners are earning are already tradeable in exchange, why not allow us to convert points that we earn from testnet to real coins when mainnet is launch, this is to encourage testers and new users, instead of waiting.
This is how it should be. There must be an incentive to participate in the test network otherwise you can turn on > view > turn off > forget.

Different projects take different strategies.
We currently get enough feedback from testers even without offering hard incentives.

However, we still consider offering a different approach later on.

We currently offer the HiveNet's alpha version with a focus on testing.
Once we start onboarding the first test customers, we might change this.

Have you always wondered how much money your computer could earn on HiveNet?

We have now released a calculator, which you can use to enter your computer's setup and find out how much your computer could earn:

https://www.hivenet.cloud/calculator

Is it the name that listed in the Processor list is the minimum required to have to use the calculator? because I can't find my cpu processor on that list, maybe mine is too low Cheesy maybe you can add another processor list for calculation to be more friendly, so everyone can use it well.

Yea, right, I can earn $500 for 12 hours Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

The value is annually, yes.

Haha  Grin
Well, we have data for more processors, but we limited the list for the calculator to most common CPUs, because we were worried that people might have to search too long.
So your CPU isn't necessarily too low  Wink
What CPU are you using?

Please correct if I am wrong here and this is not to bash the project. I have looked at many of these cloud computing in the space none has really deliver or able to generate users for their platform. I can name like 4 to 5 project that was able to raise huge funds during the last ICO craze and most are just there burning the investors funds.

My question is how is this project going to be different from them

You are right, there are a couple of projects, which try to decentralize or distribute different aspects of computing.
We have thoroughly analyzed them and had a similar impression as you have.
Although (for legal reasons) we can't get into the details why we believe they are failing, we of course tried to learn from their mistakes to not repeat them.

Generally, what distinguishes us from these projects is our strong business pragmatism.
We performed the planning for our project in the right order.
We first looked at the market and what it needs. Only afterwards we analyzed and determined how we can deliver the technical solution.
Most other projects obviously started with "what is cool from a tech perspective" or what they want to work/research on, then they collected money and just afterwards started to worry how they could deliver the tech or what the market actually needs.

Therefore, these projects often have huge needs for research activities, which may succeed, but often fail, causing delays and changes of direction.
HiveNet on the other hand builds upon available technology and knowledge.
Therefore, we have practically no need for new research.
We have already setup our architecture and solved all relevant technological and business barriers upfront.
Therefore, while other projects started with extreme research risks, HiveNet doesn't have those and we can basically just move forward with writing the code step by step according to our development plan.

Coins earned in the test network will be credited to the main network?

Yes this is indeed an interesting project but no you cannot earn from the testnet but you can try on how it works and see if this is the kind of project worth working for, bookmark this announcement and will drop by from time to time to see how the project progresses.

Please note: HiveNet is currently available as a testnet. All granted rewards are given as test coins. You will only be able to earn a revenue in HiveCoins once HiveNet's mainnet has launched. You can find details on HiveNet's milestones and the planned mainnet launch date in our roadmap.

It's great that the testnet finally came out. I confess, I thought that I could not wait for this moment.
Apparently it's time to download your software and start the tests. The design in the screenshots is a bit confusing, it feels like you hired designers from 2005, but thank God it's a testnet.

Haha, can't argue about taste  Grin
We also got a lot of positive feedback for the simple design.
But for the mainnet we will of course improve everything Wink

I like your computer but the specs that you are showing me from that example is nowhere near the spec that I'm using right now, and do you mean 12 hivenet daily, then I prefer buying than using my computer to run the whole day if the reward is 100 Hivenet a day, that's way to low from people expect provided that the price in the market is $1 higher.

You should follow the link Cheesy
You can use the calculator and enter the specs of your own computer.
Then you get the info what revenue you could make.

Very interesting will follow the development and your platform and I'm looking forward to allocating one of my computers, I hope the project delivers to its promise, the timing to launch this project is right now that halving is just around the corner two months to be exact.

How do we know the income from our computer if we absolutely will not know the price of the hivenet later, people will be lazy with false promises or lure with prizes, I know your intention is very good for Hivenet to work slowly preparing for the Hivenet project but you also have to listen community cry when IEO announcement or hivenet sales will be made, I have long been here to listen

The reward you receive in HiveNet are HiveCoins which are equivalent to the specific USD value.
In our White Paper we explain how this is achieved.
Therefore, the reward is independent from the HVC market price (however, if you hodl the HVC the price development will affect you).

An example in short: If you are to receive HiveCoins in a value of 100 USD, then
if 1 HVC = 1 USD -> you get 100 HVC
if 1 HVC = 0.1 USD -> you get 1000 HVC
if 1 HVC = 10 USD -> you get 10 HVC

Ok, I understand, sir, when will you be listed on the exchange? It's not that you've been promising this for a long time, but I haven't heard this for quite a long time. I'm waiting for no progress on opening a new exchange, and I'm very curious, but I don't know when that curiosity will be answered, I hope you immediately do in the near future because many people are bored waiting, I hope you understand
