I just wonder how it is possible at all to protect a decentralized database?  Huh I can understand how to protect a server, you can do in a good or in a bad way, but is clear.

This is a question for a programmer or even for an hacker, I just know that is bit more diffult to alter data in a decentralized blockchain, but we're talking about privacy that is something different.

to alter a some data in a bloackchain is diffucult beacuse the work to do and most important the costs in terms of power and computation is disadvantageous for the one who try. but I think too that privacy is a different matter.

Let's just pray theres no security bridge in this project,  because it's going to really bring it down painting a negative image on it,  however as much as we are very optimistic towards the project,  we hope team is putting all measures in place to avoid these kind of circumstances.

I don't think it will happen now, and if it will happen in future it means that JDS is the new ashley madison for its importance. so there is still a good side!  Grin just joking, the risks are real but it just a discussion that, I think, aim to be constructive.

I would really like to be a programmer to better understand how.  Huh It is a clear point on their white paper, one of the next they aim to reach after the end of the ICO.

I think is this point what a lot of people on this thread can misleading with an higher level of privacy. but I just think that if you read the white paper properly it's impossible to not understand what they mean.

an higher level of privacy should be a great thing in a dating site like this. blockchain can help to enforce the security level from alterations of data, so it can be a disincentive to a attempt from stealing data, but it does not increase privacy level itself.
people still remember what happen after Ashley Madison data breach. many husband try to cheat their wife but when their cc public. that's terrible

yes, it was a famous case. but also if you don't mean to broke someone's heart and you're just looking for a relation or a partner for a good night, you may like to don't let everybody knows about it.

I remember too. Obviously in this case protect the users data was not a priority for them. I don't know if JDS will be able to avoid a scandal like this. I hope their security methods can be good enough!

it is something very difficult. if a skilled hacker aim to steal the data from the JDS database (I hope it will not happen) it's nearly impossible to stop it. the security measures can protect the users from fake users, not from this kind of attack.

Yep! After all hackers can introduce themselves in banks and institutional website very easily. Maybe then they will be captured, but in the moment they enter somewhere the damage is done!   Undecided

I think they will do their best to save the security of their users. Privacy is something difficult to obtain in every field and if they will discover a way to secure a decentralized database they can sell their algorithms to the most important fiat and crypto payment companies like paypal or mastercard.

It seems here there are no relevant news but I'm glad there's people who's trying to talk about something that is not the airdrop even if some still talk about it... something new on telegram princeshake?

there is someone who talks about the airdrop also there. it seems that there will be some futher updates soon, but I still don't know which kind. I think is all they said in the lasts days.

It is something good if they talk about some updates, I really would like to know something more about what they are doing in this moment, so I will wait, let us know please!

of course!  Smiley oh, I almost forget it. they are about to close they slack account because in the social in general, and not in this particular case, there were some frauds.

Ok, perfect! A good thing to know also for some future project. Is not a very bad thing for me, I didn't yet opened an account and I think I won't do it in the next days...  Smiley

this is not slack owners fault, but there are some fake accounts that are there for phishing and to stole some crypto-money if I have understood. I don't know how big is the problem, so I will no blame slack itself.

Yes, of course! You can have some similar experiences everywhere: on facebook, by email, on a dating site I presume  Wink so it is good that (a) they left slack if they had some doubts and (2) if they have some security methods on their platforms to avoid those risks.

like one of the other users always says (I think is wolfg888) the data are the main point on this project. every dating site can collect them, but the provide some security services than can be an important strenght.
