The mining period is roughly 20 days , am I correct?

When does the mining reward switch from 1 to 400?

Please look at viacoin setup to make sure that only a small amount coin can be mined each day.

I will invest in the ipo once I get clear answers for these questions. Best of luck!

I have got a couple of message and concern on people losing their investments because the miners dumped cheap and the coin lost value in some cases of previous alt coins.
The distribution in our case in in the best interest of the pre-sale participants.
The POW mining amount will not be significant initially and will protect the investors, from instant dumping by the miners. The distribution is one of the most challenging part for a coin launch and we have modeled the distribution taking all factors into consideration.

Thanks for the effort.

At MIT, is this true?

I've done research and I believe this to be true.

We are now offering en escrow to participate in the Pre-sale. The escrow is handled by Maidak, who is a reputed escrow member. He will update the thread shortly with the details.

The Coin will currently be listed on the Allcoin exchange on launch, and we are still looking at other exchanges.
We are also offering Bounties for Translations and Application Development, and details have been updated in the initial post.

Yes, and after the first week, we will also make announcements for giveaways for innovating applications and developments at MIT, which will also be open to other developers.

mining some too big too fast, can damage the ipo investors.

I agree, I wish this coin was purely PoS or with a different Block reward, cause miners will mine and dump in a flash.

The block reward is less in the initial blocks so that there is no immediate dumping. By the time the block rewards increase everything will be setup(coins will be distributed), which will ensure a fair launch.

I think it would be best if you go through a Proof of Developer from CryptoAsian.com?

This will give investors that sense of resassurance after numerous scam coins.

Perhaps a background of each and everyone from the team? Education, work exp, skills? No name needs to be listed since I know that at least 1 attended MIT.

is this project being worked under some MIT club? Or is it just a side project that some of you guys are working on? Just to get an idea of the scope of the project. Best of luck!

There is not any specific MIT club as of now. There is the bit coin club, but again, it just organizes meet ups, talks and hackathons on campus. It the last month, we have had several sessions on the future of bit coin and crypto currency, however only one of us was on campus.

I think you might need to be a bit more transparent with the background info. Perhaps get a POD?

I went to http://web.mit.edu/people.html and searched for the 2 given emails.

It was not found; However, I googled the email of Karen Su and got a linkedin under 'Karen Su." Under education, MIT was listed. I couldn't find anything with the second email.

I do believe that Karen Su (UX designer) attended MIT, but Jeff Anston is still unclear to me.

That site does not list everyone. I think it doesn't list the graduate students as well.
Currently only 2 of us have decided to be transparent, the other 3 do not want their names on the forum, so we have respected that.

What about bounties?
Also, can you get on mintpal?

Yes, that was one of the exciting news. We are introducing bounties for several things(translations, Android wallet , 3rd party Apps , Signatures etc) and the thread will be updated with this.
