Intense September Update

Enjoy reading:) https://intensecoin.com/2017/09/17/september-update/

Selected highlights:
  • the pool mining server and daemon have been running for weeks without complaint
  • At this time, we are still waiting for response from NovaExchange regarding listing, as their 1 BTC listing fee is something the core team is able to budget out of personal coffers
  • development has not been tremendously fruitful as of late
  • active on Twitter and Bitcointalk
  • Going forward, we plan to publish a monthly summary of the happenings of Intense Coin, on or about the 15th of the month (the launch anniversary of Intense).
  • Following our roadmap, the items on our immediate agenda are paper wallet generation (a la BIP39), ITNS listing on an exchange, a Slack tipbot, and a Twitter awareness ad campaign

Analysis
First the bad stuff: development of the VPN solution not being fruitful is a little concerning. This project has a lot of potential but it'll require a credible path to actually building the VPN solution. That said it's only been a month and we should see how things stand over the next few ones.

The good stuff: The developers are willing to pay 1 BTC out of their person pockets to get it listed. That shows a serious commitment by the developer, and so, per my previous point, even if they didn't have a great first month, it shows that they intend to make some true progress.

Moreover the promise to provide monthly updates is also a really positive move. Open and clear communication will build a lot of trust and interest in the project. It's like a company publishing quarterly reports.

All in all in my mind this update substantially boosted the value of this coin. Before we kind of just had to take it on face value that a VPN solution would be built. Now we have some evidence that developers are both serious about it and will give us honest updates about its development.

I feel like people here haven't really considered that the value of this coin has SUBSTANTIALLY increased over the past week. Intense Coin is now a gold mine.

Take a step back. Crypto valuations are down more than 10% across the board [1]. This is a troubling time to be in cryptomarkets.

But why are valuations down? The most important factor is China putting restrictions on cryptocurrencies, and the potential that more will be announced shortly [2].

This is great news for this coin specifically.
...
Look at the price action of VPNCoin (VASH): 300->70 sat, Mysterium (MYST) 31k->20k sat over that time period, not so great news for vpn coins after all.

Has the dev been more active recently? Is he mostly on Slack or where can we expect the quickest answers to our questions?

If we want to see $1 per 1 Intense coin, then devs and community should make a promotion company for the coin. Than more people know about coin then higher the price of the coin.

It would probably be prudent to wait until there is a working product, dVPN, before promotion really begins. Otherwise you will promote and people's first impression will not be positive.

Keep in mind that Monero will hit around 18 millions coins in 2022, which will be twice less than INTS already mined (in one month). So I think $50 per coin is "a little" too much enthusiastic Smiley

If we get to $1 a coin I would be exceptionally pleased. $10 or more and I'd crap my pants.

Why the diff is lower, the hashrate increased but last block found 15 minutes ago? Usually it is 2 minutes ago.
Something happen into the original pool?

Yep. Which is why I said $50 per intense would be waaaaay high. Unless the coin has major major real world application I don't see it getting there.

Let's not lose sight of what this coin's ultimate purpose is. This project is an effort to be a decentralized VPN.

What happens if China announces further restrictions on cryptocurrencies? Will they all drop what they're doing, toe the government line, and forget about cryptos entirely? Of course not! We're all human. When someone tells us we can't do something we find a way around what they said, and do it anyway.

Those in China are going to continue to mine and trade cryptos but now they'll need something to protect themselves from the government finding out. That something?

A VPN

Just like this project...

The developers shouldn't focus on getting it listed. The developers should be focusing on building out a credible plan for the core VPN technology.  China's announcement turned what would likely have been a middling coin into an unbelievable gold mine overnight.

I'd love Intense to get to $50 per coin. That would be crazy high though. I'm not sure it will get that high. But again, would be epic!

I have just received the last coins that http://intensecoinpool.sytes.net owed me from the last fiasco with the broken daemon code, so they are honest guys (Erdanis and Dr.Lecter). Looking forward to this pool running again now that the code seems to have been fixed.  Cool
Thank you for your mining. i hope you continue mining on our pool with FEE 0.1%
