I installed the GUI client. It's up to date, and it reports 5 transactions, but my coins aren't showing up (and nothing shows up in the transaction history). Does the GUI have a separate wallet from the command line?

There is no fairer way to distribute coins than with a premine.

I just woke out of a coma and found out about Bitcoin. Why have 11 million coins already been mined? Premine!!!! Some of you need to understand what a *PRE*mine actually stands for. It means you mine before the coin is released. I mined 10K coins *30* minutes after it was released and I was late to the party that had already started with others on the forum here.

You can criticize the amount of days there was that early block bonus but that isn't a *PRE*mine. And the same people can criticize Bitcoin for only having 3 years of 50coin blocks and call that a *PRE*mine too.

The early block bonus seems to have worked as there is a solid pool running, a faucet coming and an exchange about to adopt it. So pretty smart decision on the part of the creator in my opinion. BTW if anyone has any Mincoins I'm willing to buy some for the right price!  Grin You never know which one of these altcoins are going to be successful and which ones are not and I don't mind taking a small risk.

So the first 3-day adopters get to pre-mine this at 500 coins/block and now they're 2 coins/block. Thanks but no thanks.

This ^...tarded way of starting a coin. lol

Yeah, I think early adopters sometimes get more rewards with these crypto-currencies then those who join in later.

Assuming you're using the non-GUI executable, just open a terminal in the same directory it is and check with:

Code:
mincoin listaccounts

Which should list all of your accounts contained within the wallet, along with their balance.
What GUI? Was the link updated at some point? Also, the command line won't accept any text and crashes when I try to close it.

What is the hash rate on NVIDIA cards? I have a couple laying around.
My 460 gets around 103Kh/s with cudaminer. Almost double what I get with any other mining program.

Very nice, I'll have to put some of these on a scrypt chain. Thanks for the info.

CUDAminer works reasonably well as well, averaging a 90% valid share ratio on an old GT 220M. Good alternative for the nVidia crowd, IMO.

That's normal that it crashes for the non gui DAEMON on windows for Bitcoin/Litecoin/etc when you try to close it.

You should try the GUI version http://www.vircurpool.com/qt/mnc-w32-0.6.3.0-beta-setup.exe

I mined about 5 blocks at some point. Now, can somebody tell me how to find out my wallet balance?

On VirCurPool, I'm putting out 1.8 MH/s via CGMiner - but VirCurPool web interface only reports I'm putting out 113 KH/s? Any idea why?

Nevermind... figured it out... ignore.

CGminer is slower and produces more stales than Reaper I've noticed. Since switching to Reaper I've had much better results. Now my hashrate matches the pool exactly.
