Hello all Mintcoiners,

I have uploaded a full copy of the Mintcoin Blockchain to Megaupload. This is to help all Mintcoiners who are new and want to fully sync their wallets from scratch quickly.

The link for the Blockchain as of August 11th is available here https://mega.co.nz/#!8x8zwZgS!TSg2kis3nLWx12_SsDFnbjQA-zDoOfhdkC09i3ks12g

The Zip file compresses the Blockchain by 31% and provides a direct link for download. The size of the file is 750 MB and takes about 1 hour to download vs approximately 36-48 hours to Sync from scratch.

I posted an in depth guide on sharing the Blockchain in this way a couple pages back as well.

Happy Mintcoining

Crestington

Fabulous! Thanks!

Cryptomommy asked me if I could do this for you guys and so I took the time out to do this for you guys so please make sure that this isn't going to get buried in the thread pages.

I don't own any Mintcoin and don't have a lot of time to devote to helping other Altcoins so I would like it if a someone from the community could take the time to test, adapt and polish the guide for Mintcoin which I posted a few pages back https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450381.16600

In return for my services I would like it if you guys please could link me to the process you are using for uploading and hosting the Blockchain via Torrents.
Excellent! Do we have a torrent of this yet we can all seed? That way people can download it in like 5 minutes instead of an hour. I have lots of bandwidth to help out seeding.

I don't have loads of bandwidth, but I'd be more than happy to help seed.   Wink

There is still a ton of cleanup to be done - but I think this is a good start?

Thank you Crestington - This is extremely valuable for our community and we truly appreciate it.
The front page has been edited and I am currently reaching out to our team for a process on keeping it updated.

I have this queued for inclusion in our new developers learning center. Do you have a mintcoin address and short bio I could include to ensure you get full credit for this?

Donated some mint. Cool stuff!

I am confident that the whole book will be released before Christmas 2014.  My ojective is to complette all coin sections (Bitcoin plus 49 altcoins) by the end of September and then complete every other page in October.  Afterwards, I can focus on the possible avenues by which I can get it published.

This looks awesome! I can't wait to see the full version. Let me know when  you publish it so I can pass it around?

Mintcoin MINT has its own four page section in my book called Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" Reference Book.  Here is the thread:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cryptocurrency-the-alt-ernative-beginners-reference-book-483187

I will document all major historical events for MINT as well as the current coin specifications.  I have been working on the book for a few months.  If you would like to help fund this future publication, here is my MINT wallet address:

MZKhgDfWYxfWpkpC9Jn6ZtpBQduBSKvfet

Here is the incomplete preview section for MINT (the section is more up-to-date on my computer):

I wouldn't concentrate on advertising right now...There is a more of work still to be done to clean up this coin... to make this coin more professional and presentable.

The main thing is cleaning up the presentation and online information for this coin.
- Agreed.

Reddit still says there is a premine on the sidebar.
- I should have this modified over the weekend.

Github Mintcoin code comments still says there is a premine.
Premine references need to go.
- I noted this within the Developers Circle - We are working on cleaning up all assets.

Get rid of the little animation on the main website that has an outdated mintcoin logo.
- I have an open task for this - the current site needs allot of work.
- We will be continually working to clean up the entire site page by page.

The second thing, is to release the Android wallet, so we can actually share/use Mintcoin with people anywhere, on the go.
We are still on target with a soft launch of August 18th.

Then get the NGO released too.
This is currently in the hands of the French Government. The only thing we can do at this time is wait Smiley

The Android wallet, and NGO have been promised for a long time, yet nothing has been delivered. This is the reason why the coin is so low...no progress/development on the infrastructure surrounding the coin. Deliver on these things, and things will turn around. I'm looking forward to it, just some people probably lose patience.

Hang tight - we have a pretty awesome team coming together and delivering great things. I'm excited.

FYI:

The Dumper on Mintpal is still unloading mintcoins like it is going out of style.
(Around a bitcoin worth per day.)
Add to the 2 satochi wall instead of buying at 3 satochi , it will get you a 3rd more mintcoins for your money until he runs out.

 Cool

Do you mind if I re-post this on the Mintcoin blog and share out for a broader audience?

OK ,
It is becoming apparent , that their will be necessary bills that must be paid every month.
For Example keeping the BlockChain explorer up and running.

Here is a thought,  Open for Debate and any Warnings or Insights
Let's form a Club from the inside the community.
Something like the MintCoin Guard or MintCoin Elite .
Other Names should be submitted to be voted on.

Members of the club would agreed to pay a monthly due to a bitcoin or mintcoin address.
Membership would be $1 per month if 100 or more sign up.
If we only get 50 to sign up then we would have to have a monthly due of $2.
(or if preferred a yearly due )
If we can't get at least 50 signed up , then scrap this idea.

From the Monthly Dues , the Treasurer pays off the Monthly BlockChain bill.
Any additional money would be used for the following :
1: To shore up the buy walls on the exchange with the most Mintcoins are being held, and when  Purchased,  mintcoins are immediately moved off of the exchange to be kept by the Treasurer in a Mintcoin Address , and all interest from it is to be  divided equally by all members Quartely.
2: Used by MintCoin Team to advertise Mintcoin.
Club would vote on Percentages to go to option 1 and 2.
After Blockchain explorer is paid for, if anything extra for example
50% to 1 & 2 options, or 75% for 1 and 25%  to 2.

What would Membership give you,
Voting Rights in all Future Directions that the Mintcoin Team would like to take.
Payouts from MintCoin Interest on the Club Mintcoin account every quarter divided between all Members equally.

Treasurer should be someone with no other functions in the MintCoin community, their only function would be treasurer to prevent any conflict of interests.
Also they can not be anonymous  and must be reachable by an email.
They will keep track of member's email & mintcoin address for the quarterly interest payment.
And they should post a Quartely Report on how the money was used on the MinCoin.CC website .
For every year they serve as treasurer, they are listed as a member for 5 years.

Everyone already performing a task on the Mintcoin Team automatically receives a membership in the club which is good for 1 year after they no longer perform that service.

Any way here is a thought, what do you Think?
 Cool

P.S.
I have no interest in being treasurer.
This is only to help the coin survive & prosper.

How much BTC we need to stabilize MINT price at 0.00000010 ? We could collect together appropriate amount of Bitcoin necessary to stabilize mintcoin price at minimum 0.00000010 BTC/MINT.

Probably only about 50 BTC, as long as people don't sell. But maybe less, if the momentum changes to positive.

No offense, but this is a bad idea. This will not help. You cannot make all that hold MINT "Promise I will not sell".
The buy/sell orders are somewhat dynamic for MINT, as soon as the exchange rate go up/down then will some minters move their funds to the exchange and get ready to sell at the "right time".
You cannot see the real market depth at mintpal/cryptsy for MINT, since only a stupid trader would let the coins sit at the exchange, when you could be minting instead.

@ToolDK one of our primary initiatives is to promote minting throughout our advertising. Hopefully as awareness grows the number of coins on the exchanges will decrease

3 BTC could potentially get people moving in the right direction if done in correlation with the new wallet launch. The new wallet will also showcase a few other projects we are currently working on as well.

Right now I also have a retargeting campaign running as well as paid advertising in Facebook. This should at least get a little more brand recognition around the community.
