We are pleased to announce the official MON giveaway. In order to encourage Vertans to update their wallets to the new version for supporting Stealth Address transactions, we are targeting this giveaway to Vertans.
Anyone whose posts Stealth Address in here is eligible to receive 5 MONs.

There's almost no trade volume on Poloniex or BitTrex. Is this coin being traded elsewhere, or is everyone holding? It's obviously being mined, so the coins have to be going somewhere? 
I know I've been continuing to hold. I think once things flesh out and people start losing interest in the junk coins being released every day, we will start to see a rise. I believe the limited supply and difficulty to obtain outside of buying on an exchange creates some noteworthy potential value. I believe people were looking at it as a "free bonus" if they were already mining VTC regardless so it wasn't assigned a proper value.
In my experience, both of those exchanges have the ability to produce considerable volume when there is demand. Getting listed on MintPal or Cryptsy would be fine and dandy but it seems premature regardless - people don't even know what they have here. I believe impatience and the desire for quick profit has created an entire class of undervalued, premium cryptocurrencies. MON is certainly in that class along with several other big names. These PoS-only coins are starting to fizzle, the country coins have fizzled - gimmicks without substance will eventually fail. When people start looking into crypto at a fundamental level, Monocle will stand out from the pack.

I downloaded the monocle wallet on another computer pasted my wallet.dat file. I let 1 day reading the whole blockchain...my transaction continues with 0 confirmations after some days...the adreess is valid because i got the 0,01 MON on that address sent by xgtele.
I offer 100 monocles to the one that makes possible to get my monocles back...
If you only have coins on that address you can try

dumpprivkey thataddress
in the debug console, save it somewhere, close the GUI, rename your wallet.dat to something else, like wallet.bak, then restart the wallet and run

importprivkey the_key_from_earlier
It will rescan the entire blockchain (no need to redownload) for any transactions related to that priv/pubkey pair. There are other ways too (e.g. manually pruning the transaction from your wallet.dat), but I think that is the easiest way and it should work. Just make sure you make backups etc

Hey i need your help guys.
I made a MON transaction last saturday and its with 0 confirmation since then..
I downloaded last wallet and synced.
The address was given by poloniex and the say it's valid, although if i check it in the blockchain (http://monexplorer.vertcoin.org/address/MHcvoBTxFqroTAdiBqTR8TqdPhf1HxXVtq) it says it does not exist.
I already contacted poloniex support and they keep saying that the address is valid...i hope i didn't loose all my coins....what should i do?

Hi xgtele, thanks for your help. I'm going to delete all the files except wallet.dat and monocle and monocle.conf and let it sync again....i will tell you the results..thanks again.

Bittrex is a meaningless exchange anyway, let them rot.
Bittrex is happy to add latest scamcoins every day, let them do his poor job. MON target is moon and mintpal.

Last time i checked Mintpal couldn't save Vertcoin, just a small boost then going down as usual. It would be silly to think Mintpal = Moon, plenty of dead coins there.
I recall buying two monitors from the VTC on mintpal hype. =)
Never said it would "save" anything either. Interested onlookers from the pump could look into MON, and further, VTC. So far, in my opinion, VTC and MON are doing just fine.
