The files are now finished uploading and the p2pool "node in a box" is available (complete with README) at https://github.com/Paul-Bradley/EasyNode

This is preconfigured to triple merge-mine VTC+MON+PLX and is the best way to mine, with the highest possible payouts and zero fees.

A reminder - please vote for MON on CoinedUp at http://www.reddit.com/r/CoinedUp/comments/24yk8a/please_add_mon_vtc_team_release_mergemined_on_vtc/

If I am triple mining on local p2pool with 0.6 Mh/s am I wasting my time? My VTC payments are normal, around 3 VTC per day, but I only received 25 MON in the last 3 days and I've just added the settings for triple mining today, so no para yet.

I want to support p2pool mining, but would I even find a block of MON or parallax with this hash rate?

Yes you'll find blocks, they'll just be a long time coming. 25 MON seems pretty good so far with your hashrate.

You need a good amount of patience. At the current difficulty you could find a mon block every 136 hours on average, and a plx block every 72 hours with that hashrate, assuming unchanged difficulty during this period.

triple mining available only for solo?

If you're running your own node using https://github.com/Paul-Bradley/EasyNode you're not solomining VTC, you're mining VTC on p2pool and solomining MON and PLX at the same time.

Do you have problems with simplevert.com

I think they are lying to us to pay
because to me the payment of VTC for 24 hours is about 20% less than a regular pool

Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh
We've had a pretty unlucky run over the last 24h - check it out for yourself http://simplevert.com/blocks
I ran the numbers last night and it looked like this
24 hour luck avg - 140% work completed of expected (40% less lucky than average during this time period)
48 hour luck avg - 100% luck

for 24 hours simplevert.com has 54 found Block - 872.6 MH/s - 1200 worker
for 24 hours vertco.in has 91 found Block - 838.80MH/s -  1100 worker

Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

I am at a loss to you guys /simplevert/, even MON not be able to cover my losses

Or I still think that you have hidden mining blocks from people

How else pay 10% bonus, then 5% and now 2.5% bonus

I've learned that in life nothing is for free, so most likely you steal from us to give us a small percentage bonus

I'm sick of incorrect pools  Angry

Ive been mining at simplevert for 84hrs with 6.3Mhs while donating the standard 1%, ive earned 86VTC, which means im only behind by 5VTC on the average. I dont "think" they are hiding anything. Those bonuses you are talking about are only for MON and they told us how they are able to offer them and why they have been reduced.

Have the files been uploaded? I can't see them in the releases section yet.

As someone else said, upload is taking a while. Zipped files are about 2GB but my upstream is being a bit slow. They'll be up ASAP.

Running a own node is nice because you have no problems with getting paid and latency and you can easily switch between the 3 nets depending on your hash.
With a small hash i think you will no longer be able to find a block MON or Parallax. I´ll try a while on 1.2Mh.
I had not much luck with using a p2p pool and got only a few mon, mabe i find one solo but not a big hope

I made a virtualbox image and howto so people can very easily run their own node to triple-merge-mine VTC+MON+PLX. Hasn't been tested yet, the port forwarding might break on your machine in which case I'll need to update the HOWTO so it can be added back in easily. I'd appreciate if someone could give it a try.

Please note, I'm still uploading it at the time of posting this, it'll be a few minutes before the release files are available. The HOWTO is on the main page of the git repo.

It's like 8 GB. He said he just started uploading it so give him some time. It will probably take a moment to download too.

Yesss! That will be an extremely easy solution for people to get started with mining all 3 coins! I assume since it's a VM, a decent amount of memory (RAM) will be required.

I have set it to allocate 1GB of physical RAM by default, it also has a 1GB pagefile inside the VM. That should be sufficient I would think, but if you have a lot of RAM raising the physical
allocation to 2GB might result in better performance. It's also worth mentioning that for best performance, if you have plenty of spare SSD space it might be best to unzip the virtualbox
files to an SSD partition, but I doubt it would make enough difference to be worth doing that if space was at a premium.

Just curious why you use a non-linear function of round shares for your stats (luck %). A simple % of expected shares is much easier on the brain if you want to guestimate average pool performance over time with a look at the stats page.

I do agree that being non-linear here is a disadvantage, but to me it makes more sense that the 'luck' goes down the longer you mine. I have had a lot of questions about this and have considered changing it or having both
