While I've been reading through the replies , I've been tumbling upon hateful comments , mega manipulators , the supportive , haters again , more haters etc etc.
What I just want you to know is that we've been through hell , been there done that. yada , yada.

also in case of a hitch, and only when everything was ready and tested, prepare an
real announcement \ official release.

This way, you burn a project, and you kill the community, and any hope to take it to a good conclusion.
