For those looking into exchanges, here is some information you may need for Noodlyappendagecoin:

Abbreviation is "NDL"
"Network Version" is "0x35"
"Private Key Prefix" is "0xb5"
"WIF-start" (what uncompressed private keys begin with) is "7"
"CWIF-start" (what compressed private keys begin with) is "T"
"Minimum Transaction Fee" is "0.01"
The wallet DOES support multi-sig addresses.

Before we begin, we should take a hard look at ourselves first.

Per your suggestion, I took a long and very hard look at myself in a mirror.  I did this for several minutes trying, and straining harder and harder.  Then, suddenly, I realized someone had pooped in my pants.  I won't go into detail about who, but lets just say I stopped looking at myself at that point.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

We are born as we are, so we can already cope with that.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It could be a turning point now. In my opinion, the coin should have a chance to grow slowly but steadily, decentralized exchanges first do not undermine the intention of further growing on an exchange or several echchanges.
What I am able to throw in personally for this project is experience in journalism, natural sciences, modern philosophy, authorship and also pedagocical skills.
And: Common sense! Smiley
And by the way: Thats why I am in since 2014. Thats the spirit of this coin at least as I have understood it. Since Trump, it even does make more sense! ;-)
But even more important is, that a turning point with different people needs more knowledge and growing trust in their goals, not only in skills.
And therefore I recommend an article on WHALES (yes, of course here deep down is eventually only whales-talking left at the moment, thin and strange peeping sound-noodles crossing even the whole fucking atlantic ocean ... ):
Please read it. It is a brilliant link to more awareness of our position and role in that situation - in some coins we are Krill in this one we are --- hopefully not nipponese whale sushi:
https://medium.com/cryptolinks/the-anatomy-of-a-whale-eb0f76164895
Quote
The Anatomy Of a Whale
A reddit post from galgitron that was removed by mods
The nature of Whales and their feeding cycles. This is ENTIRELY my own thesis, terminology, and beliefs; all based on my years of experience in trading and the various discussions and observations that I’ve had over those years.
Before we begin, we should take a hard look at ourselves first. (...)
So, what kind of the three types of whales, mentioned in the article above is everyone of us, when it comes to money?
To my eyes one of the best sentences in cryptocurrency and also trading in whole is that one, above, right from the beginning of the article:
Before we begin, we should take a hard look at ourselves first.
Nothing to add.
_____________________
I do think: the last few postings above in the NoodlyAppendageThread (as long as no one changes or deletes anything) will give everyone new in the NDL-coin circus a very clear picture of the situation as it is - for years. :-)
So: We do have slightly different intentions. And skills. And dreams. Which is good.
Me - for example - I have thought a lot about airdrops over the last weeks, which I could manage over years - as (not as the explorer suggests) we 5 or 6 persons really do have the half of the complete coin amount of NDL.
And - no I really don't need 75-100 Million Dollars at 350 Satoshis of NDL at a BTC spot of 60.000 $ ... .
So. Lets stay normal and do a great thing with a growing community at a healthy pace. The right pace matters!
Therefore - none of the above suggestions seems really irrational to me, but bringing it together will be a matter of organization and interaction within our different goals in common sense.
I would love to see a growing NDL comunity - yes, and I would like to be rich one day, haha.
But thats not the main point I think.
Its not a pump-and-dump-idea, this one here.
If you also read again (of course after the great article above, which i REALLY recommend, - have I said it before?  Cheesy ) the very first page of this NDL thread, you again get a glimpse, of what this coin could perhaps move in supporting the defense of views and freedom of modern science!
And all this - by humour (please don't forget).
In future my postings will be shorter, I promise. But this time I thought it is important to be more direct and a bit visionary and also in detail at once.
Yes, lets grow up that noodly-nerdy-coin - but: Only the pace will be part of the discussion, I guess. ---
Because now, we are all just growing noodle-whales left in a shrinking pool ... .
I hereby predict (with no supporting evidence, logic, or rationality whatsoever), that Noodlyappendagecoin will have a starting and long term price/exchange rate of no less than approximately 100 satoshi each.  Those of you mining, better get to mining hard!
Perhaps by working together we can provide all that is necessary to achieve the goal of being listed on an exchange.  Once we get past that hump, much more will fall into place.
Thanks for the good instruction on your page, dnp!
http://dognose.net/~ndl/
by the way: the whole suggestions of getting NDL on an exchange etc again - is this possible at all, as we are not the devs of this coin?
thank-you!
i'm willing to add/modify those instructions if given suggestions.
in the back of my mind i keep thinking i'd like to open an exchange just for obscure altcoins that i support out of my whimiscal nature and the name of the coin.  and possibly other coins that bribe me with a monthly listing fee.
it would only exchange with LTC and Doge markets and no BTC support since presumably such obscure coins would not achieve high enough valuations.
butt... i need to locate *good* open-source exchange code to run on linux.
and i need to be convinced the exchange fees would pay the monthly virtual server costs after the first couple months of setup and operation. say $15euro/month to start and increasing with higher usage loads -- this seems very very unlikely without finding altcoins willing to pay monthly listing fees in BCH, LTC or Doge.
i'd also run iquidus explorers for each altcoin on the exchange.
and of course provide download links for the inevitably modified coin daemons/wallets i run, along with a simple web page describing the coin (like my above ndl link.)
i can make the time to admin (and minor modify) stuff, just not the focused undisturbed time to develop new code
and of course there will be dealing with DDOS attacks (i'd be inclined to just let them happen, until the botnet gets bored and moves on to other victims.)
but, alas, this is all just an unlikely dream Smiley
Like any coin (even bitcoin) a set of devs could overtake the existing blockchain if enough people followed them, the same applies here.
However, with this coin, the original dev is no longer a part of the project (and not for a lack of trying on the part of us new guys).  My update to the NDL code wasn't a hard fork, so no one was really required to follow it and it doesn't conflict with the pre-existing wallets or blockchain.  Though I did hard code some checkpoints.  Previously the last checkpoint was dated from around 2014 (I think).
So its completely possible for us to get NDL on an exchange, but the question is, does anyone who supports NDL have the know-how and or the financial resources to achieve that goal?
If you didn't see it:
Github Repo is : https://github.com/number435398/noodlyappendagecoin
Direct link for Windows Wallet is : https://github.com/number435398/noodlyappendagecoin/blob/master/noodlyappendagecoin-qt%20V0.0.3.exe
Remember to backup your wallet.dat file before doing anything!  There have been no reported problems, but if you're the first have a problem, I don't want you to lose your stuff (this is a good rule to follow regarding any crypto-currency).
Good idea, I hope you have had all the info they need.
Only thing is: We are a bit old in code I think, though its from 2014. ;-)
But I am pretty sure, they could love NDL, anyway.
Its a nerdy coin for people with a sense of humour.
Thats why I still think, its worth a try, too.
Perhaps we should do it like in the Hexx coin takeover: A new chain with a snapshot of the old - well on from the beginning and seed.
I do think, this could be a great idea, - BUT:
This is otherwise risky in a lot of ways, who has followed the interesting hexx project knows what i mean!
as the new devs have been cheated several times by fellows ... every coin is only as trustfully as its participating people ... and the big fault they made, was doing anything completely anonymously (also between each other), due to the concept of developing a "privacy coin", so now the trace to the stolen 15.000 HEXX is gone with the chain ...
Here the "historic" video from hexx dev shiki0 on youtube, after 1 min and 40 seconds and later after 4 minutes again, he begins to declare, what actually happend to them, video is just 6 weeks old:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/KBKJkj3n28c
In short: The trick of the thief has been to get that coins from the new devs (shiki0 and others) themselves and for paying and so organizing the listing at a major exchange, after gaining their trust.
The person got the bunch of coins - of course anonymously - and simply ran away with it! :-D
Shortly before that happened, I had a few disputes with that guy in the ann thread - and i felt something could be smelling untasty there - which made me throwing all my hexx coins back to markets.
This time, at least, I wasn't one of the dear poor landlubbers in the market. ...
But - though everything is great fun - we should be totally aware of such things. At least, my little fish feed trown in.
goods: instant noodles for NDL (for example)
Instant noodles is intriguing... though I'm not sure how private trades would be done appropriately.  You up to applying any of those ideas for some NDL?
What does instant noodles in this context even stand for? Is it the real food that should me more quickly exchangeable with NDL?
I believe that was the premise, in the context of "real food" being anything containing and or associated with actual noodles.
This is a bit weird then. Is there really the need for a coin that is focussed on everything that has to do with noodles? Cheesy
The coin is not focused on noodles.  That was merely one idea that we could correlate with it.  Besides, pool noodles taste awful.
Ok but coin for pastafarians could very well suggest that this has at least some sort of focus on products that have to do with noodles. Wink
It is not focused on such things, however, that doesn't mean they can't be included Wink
