Dreams are realities un-manifested.
Does piggycoin have a slack going anywhere? I recently learnt about piggycoin and couldn't believe how small the marketcap is for it. I can't help with the development but I'd be happy to help with marketing/infographics etc

Check out piggycoin.slack.com .

Good idea! With all the new users coming into Crypto this would be a good time to make such an effort to reach out to them. There does seem to be rising interest lately on NovaExchange and Cryptopia, judging from the increased buying going on there.

Thanks for the help... this didn't work either. (And addnode wasn't listed in the Help list of commands in the console. Nor anything similar when I skimmed the list.)  I tried manually adding to the .conf file with no success either. My next step is to try moving the computer to a different network and see if that does the trick.

Sorry about that. I went to an old piggycoin wallet to see if it had that addnode command and it didn't either  Angry so I guess piggycoin has never had addnode as an option. Still, look in the debug log and see if it is trying any of the nodes you add to the .conf file. If those nodes are not listed in the 'last seen 2000 hours ago' list then maybe delete the peers file? That's what I would try. Most wallets have the addnode option and I should have checked that piggycoin did before I suggested it. I'm not sure why some don't.

Whelp, brought the computer home with me and it's connecting up just fine. Looks like someone has been playing with the firewall settings at work.  Undecided

Thanks for the effort though. :-)

(Snip)

then click on the top menu of the wallet and when you are at the console paste in

addnode 1.34.180.245 add

then hit enter,

then

addnode 109.48.255.161 add

Usually when you have pasted in 2 or 3 it starts catching then suddenly more will add on automatically.

Thanks; I tried this and it didn't help. I think now it must be a firewall issue, as my home computers are having no issue.

Compare the debug log for computers that connect properly and those that don't. On the top menu of your wallet open up the console and click on "open debug log".

I fired up my Piggycoin wallet briefly the other day and got no connections. I thought it was a fluke so I shut it down and didn't think much of it. Now I'm trying again and getting the same result. Can anyone help me out? I'm running v. 1.2.3.0 and haven't noticed any issues prior to this.

Cryptoid lists a lot of peers. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/piggy/#!network Firewall issue? Never hurts to addnode a few connections if a wallet is slow to start.

How do I add/edit nodes? I don't think I've done that before and don't see an option in the wallet itself. Is there a config file or something?

The odd thing is I have an identical copy of the wallet on another computer and it is connecting just fine. So I think something must have gotten corrupted on the one.

Check the OP under "Config file" section you will find your answer. And after creating a necessary file just copy paste this nodes taken from Piggycoin Blockchain Explorer. If you are a Mac user, a file path is different.

add
To add nodes in any wallet, go to the menu at the top of the wallet and open the debug window or console. Type 'help' and you will see a list of commands. To add a node type addnode 123.123.123.123 add but replace the 123s with the ip of the node.

Also look at your debug log and see if it says "tried xyz node, last seen 3000 hours" etc in which case no fresh nodes are the problem, but debug log can give other info too.

Is there a connection between DNotes and Piggy?
They launched 2/16/14 and 2/25/14 with a similar focus.

Soon will probably be a lot of media interest in both coins.

Back in the game....

Hey piggies. I just recently opened up my newpiggycoin wallet and I can't seem to sync it.  I'm caught up to 81 days ago at block 1219561.
Did something happen at that point?Wallet is showing 8 active connections.  My balance is 0,  all my coins are listed in the Stake line, 0 unconfirmed.

I have tried a complete new install and a download of the blocks from scratch but again I'm stuck at the above numbers....
Check & Repair Wallet Report OK

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for the help!

Ok wallet is now in sync but all my coins are stuck in stake.  They immediately staked when I opened the synced wallet (in 32 consecutive mined transactions) but then they won't confirm (showing 32 confirmations for the oldest tranaction and 1 confirmation for youngest).
Check & Repair Wallet are reporting OK.

A) What should I do next to gain access to the coins?
B) Can I / Should I get rid of all the orphan transactions in my wallet?  How?

Almost back in the game...

Spoke too soon....  Transactions are starting to clear now.  I forgot how short the little piggy legs are.....

Thanks again everyone!

Well, That's Crypto :-\
Conceptually Piggy is one of the best coins in the crypto space.

Providing a solution for the younger generation to familiarize themselves with crypto is genius.

Time and patience my friends.

@Devs How about expanding the Piggy site and or wallet to include games/ music/ or a members only club that the kids can enjoy. The demographic that piggy aims for has tons of spendable money for swag, ect.

Just don't let Piggy die! It's not even Christmas yet!
 #Oink.

Piggy has been around three years and I'm sure will be fine.  :-)

I'm just afraid that Piggy has gone wild recently...
