Ukrainians will resist
I have coins in my wallet that cannot be spent, the transaction ends with an error.
I corresponded with the support, they could not help me.
In fact, I have lost my coins if I cannot spend them.
why such incompetence, even the developers themselves cannot defeat the glitches of their wallet.
If you value your money, you better stay away from this coin and this team.

The way the price is going you gonna just lose real money mining this.

Veil = fail

Nothing happening with this project

Veil mining profitability is quite good for RandomX and ProgPoW for the last several weeks after the new multi-algo system went live. Development is still continuing and we still aim to create the best privacy coin we can.

Hello All.

I want to thank the team for making the coin minable to all.  As a CPU miner normally I cannot mine a coin I am interested in. Thank you for giving each mining type a chance to mine the coin.  That is really cool.

Cheers,
Waya

Thanks for the kind words! It is easy to get started CPU mining through the Veil wallet. If you plan to mine let us know how it goes!

Got into the same trouble again and tried to download snapshot again  but this time SHA-256 hash of downloaded zip was not equal to that one displayed on site. Did it three times  and all times there were  no matches. Sha-256 of three downloads are the same but they differ from that one on the site.  Is that the site shows me  the wrong hash?

I just tried downloading the snapshot and tested the hash. It was correct for me. Could you tell me what command you tried to use? It is SHA256.

Quote
D:\>CertUtil -hashfile 20201210-veil-snapshot-995856.zip SHA256
SHA256 hash of 20201210-veil-snapshot-995856.zip:
1682af581e6cbb1e0d5a0733b4f3aa04629b49656469429cd1331fb72171af6c
CertUtil: -hashfile command completed successfully.

After a while i decided to move the wallet to a machine with much better specs (i actually use it atm to mine Veil with CPU - Win10 - Ryzen 9 - 16 GB Ram - m2. SSD), no other wallets are running in this current machine and so far the wallet is running smoothly, no crashes, no errors, receiving stakes normally.

i dunno if the above info is helpful but i hope it made the situation a bit clearer for you.

I don’t think it’s about faster CPU and RAM. If you mine your never shutdown neither wallet nor machine, right? Probably this is why no such crashes as was described in my post. As it was already said the problem may lay in the "partial" wallet's shutdown with its process remaining active in background.  Nevertheless time is needed to check this assumption.

It doesn't matter if you dont turn off the wallet, it might crash anyway.
At the previous machine the wallet was working 24/7 as well due to staking but eventually it was getting crashed by the same error that you get, although, you're not completely wrong, cause some times it was crashing after reopening when the machine has previously rebooted-restarted (due to updates or whatever).

In the machine i have it running now, in which i both solo mine and stake veil, so far it works ok, this machine reboots as well but so far no issues have occurred.

When Veil team will bother itself to make a wallet that could work? My 1.1.0.1 worked couple of weeks and now reports the following error. "MinGW runtime Assertion: Assertion failed! Expression: pindexWalk-->pprev"  Looks like I need to download the fresh snapshot of 18 GB to get it work  Huh 5h 26m  left to download... to see if this will work around.

Apologies about that. Using a snapshot is the right solution if you get that error. One way to reduce the chances of that error is to make sure to shut down the wallet itself before shutting down/restarting the computer.

I am doing it all the time when using the wallet but now starting to suspect that sometimes it doesn't fully close itself and relevant processes remain running in background. Need to check this suspicion.  BTW, after downloading the current snapshot and replacing the content of four folders (sure you know what I'm talking about) wallet is in working state  again.

After the upgrade of the wallet to the latest version i had exactly the same problem, however, i had the wallet installed in a machine (Win 10 - i5U - 8GB Ram - SSD) along with other POS wallets.
Every time the problem appeared i solved it by deleting the appropriate folders and placing the latest snapshot in their place.

Hello VeilDango !

I'm really glad that the team pulled off all these changes and upgrades.

Is there a way to see how many people are mining in the three different algos ?
I can see for progpow in there  https://miningpoolstats.stream/veil-progpow but how about the sha-256 and the RandomX ?

veil have random x algo. And where pool with such mining?

You can read about setting up RandomX mining here: https://veil-project.com/blog/2020-mineafterhardfork/

There's no pool support for RandomX yet but you can solo mine it perfectly fine with the wallet.

Coins received with the new wallet 1.1 cannot be sent to staking and to another container. The transaction hangs unconfirmed for a long time, I rescan the blockchain and restart the wallet. The coins are returned to the balance.
How can this be fixed?
Sorry to hear about the issues. You can contact our support team at https://veil.freshdesk.com/ or [email protected]
