Multi Cryptocoin Payments has just opened a new poll asking which coins users want them to support. They say they will support 5 or 6 of these and PPC is currently tied for 7th place in the poll.

I don't understand why payment processors are even considering other coins with such low market caps. What is the point?

Maybe our users are not aware of what products/services are available through Coin Payments, looks like pr0d1gy decided to delist XPM and PPC from Coin Payments for now.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/multi-cryptocoin-payment-processing-coin-list-vote-285619

I feel having support of the first multi-currency payment processor is important, not just for our sake, but also for a healthy competitive currency market in general. So please let Coin Payments know that our community is really active and interested in using their service, so hopefully they can reconsider this unfortunate decision to desupport two of the most innovative currencies both in the top ten market cap ranking.

You can leave your feedback in the above thread or PM pr0d1gy.

XPM was re added. Hopefully PPC is next, I send him a few requests this morning they say it will come back in time.

My store CoinCable.com is now accepting XPM , cant wait to accept PPC too!

Cheers

Sunny,

I've lost interest in this payment processor. Why bother when they would even consider dumping two of the most innovative and popular coins for a boatload of other copycat/scam-coins? Some of the coins they support have less than 1/10th the market cap of PPC. WTF are they thinking!? IMO, dealing with them is a waste of time and energy.

I'm wondering if BTC-e is maintaining a low fractional reserve ratio of PPC because yesterday I tried to withdraw PPC from BTC-e and only got 60% of what I asked for. The transactions all showed as completed in my account history so I opened a ticket with support asking that they process the withdrawals and they credited PPC back to my account. Today I tried to withdraw the remaining 40% and received an additional 10%, with the remaining 30% showing as a completed withdrawals in my account history but there is no trace of them on the blockchain.

This makes me suspicious that BTC-e doesn't have the PPC available and is employing a low fractional reserve ratio on PPC. Given their known interest in the PPC competitor Novacoin I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing this to increase the PPC supply beyond what exists on the blockchain to depress the price.

Have any of you had trouble withdrawing PPC from BTC-e? I'd love a response from BTC-e as well about whether they only maintain a fractional reserve of PPC and other coins.

I've had countless issues with BTC-e, including disconnects when trying to sell coins before a dump. I think the owners of that exchange work with the pumpers/dumpers and alert "VIP" persons (scammers) when to dump.

Finally, if they are out of PPC and a bunch of us try to withdraw PPC now they will need to buy PPC and raise the price to induce deposits to fulfill the withdrawal requests Smiley

I feel sorry for that as well. PPC and XPM are very innovative indeed. However, one individual's promotion is not sufficient in the era of information explosion. I think a team consisting of relevant expertise like programming, marketing and sales should be set up in order to push the eco-friendly PPC.
Just fore reference only.

yes
PPC is very quit the last few months. Could get crazy in multipliers if a new crypto-currency hype starts. Lets say conservatively 3x for PPC price in BTC and 10x for Bitcoin in USD in the next craze. That's a great opportunity  Tongue

btw, my only issue with this great idea is its name.  PPcoin?  Who named it that?  I'm assuming it wasn't someone who is fluent in English, as they would have realized how saying "PP" sounds like a toddler describing his own penis, or urination.

Perhaps change the name?  Roll Eyes
It's best to just refer to it as Peercoin.

“Does proof of stake have a future? Many signs suggest that it certainly does. PPCoin founder Sunny King argues that Bitcoin’s security will become too weak over time as its block reward continues to drop; indeed, this is one of his primary motivations for creating PPCoin and Primecoin. Since then, PPCoin has come to be the fifth largest cryptocurrency on the market”

Just noticed that clark moody removed the ppc donation address. It has been replaced with xpm. Anyone know why? Why not have both?

Good time to send him an email asking that.

Any chance you would like to increase interest from 1% on POS with all the ASICS coming in to play to say 10% ?
What do ASICs have do to with it?

Quote
I think this will have a very positive effect on PPC price as more people will prefer to hold it in order to mint a stake just like it is happening with NVC which is now using 53% annually...
53% interest annually? That's insane.

ASICS are hitting all the SHA256 coins and are not ready available as GPU's at the moment for any miner not willing to wait 6months to a year.
This difficulty spike is decreasing GPU profitability and in order to avoid all new ASIC miners dumping as they mine for BTC or USD, higher POS rewards could make this coin something they would hold for extra % oppose to BTC/LTC which cant produce any additional return.

Sunny King, NVC seems to be doing quite well with their high POS interest model.

 Just a thought Smiley

Is Maddoff or something like that the name to cite here, as in some crook every idiot who wants a fast buck throws their money at because wow the profits are huge so better just jump in what could possibly go wrong?

Aren't there enough ponzi / pyramid / tulip-mania scams out there already without starting to break the few things left that aren't just scams run by some megalomaniac who will do anything to make a fast buck?

A centrally managed money supply with a central power that sets the interest rates, how original, and even more original that they are raised so all the cronies of the central power can get lots, then of course lowered to keep out the riff-raff. Sheesh, that novacoin is so innovative!

Maybe you should check what the brains behind Enron are up to now and get in on that too, sure to be a big hit!

-Mark

I personally think 1% is a bit low and it would make sense to have more reward for "savers" in order to control dumping and thus stabilize the price over time.
The rest of your comment does make sense and I agree that is why I am not asking for more then 10%, 5-10% seems to be a good reasonable number in my opinion.
