Here is the green one with the text on the coin...

And I was playing around with Paint and made this. It's the same coin with a carbon fiber background. It's not a serious submission. I thought it was funny, so I posted it.

Here's a random question. How much would a bounty need to be to get a coin-control interface coded for ppcoin? I'm thinking of one that was GUI, allowed you to control coins by address, set priority of addresses for spending, control change addresses, toggle coins available for generating stake, show coin-age, calculate likelihood of generating stake at any point and show total interest earned. If it integrates the secure offline storage while generating stake so much the better.

Beyond that I'd like to see it provide detailed information about the network. I want to see how many other coins out there are generating stake, changes to the block reward over time, the network hash rate, block size, number of nodes connected, etc., etc. with both numbers and graphical views. It shouldn't require command-line interface to get reports like a rich list, etc. Imagine how many more people would hold onto their coins if they could watch their holdings ranked against the global rich list in real-time. There are a million ppcoins for sale on btc-e right now, people aren't sitting around generating stake, they're trying to earn BTC.

We're in a popularity war here and having the coolest client that blows bitcoin-qt out of the water would be a major coup.

As I said in the other forum, I'm divided on these new ones. I know I don't like the blue one. The all gold one looks too plain. For me, currently it's between the one with the leaf and the one with the green background. I think I might still be leaning in the direction of the leaf.

What would the one with the green background look like with the text around the outside of the coin? It looks a little plain because that's missing.

Ok, here goes...

THIS THREAD IS MOVING TO PPCOINTALK.ORG - PLEASE CONTINUE IT THERE!

PLEASE JOIN US THERE!

I'd like to see SunnyKing say he's moving over there. Then I'll follow. No offense Excelsior but if the Dev isn't moving.... Well ;o)

We are still in the growing stages and let's be honest, lot's of people here will be looking at other coins in the next several months and by coins, I don't mean the sudden influx of p-n-d, premine, get rich quick coins. If we jump over to ppcointalk will we have the same exposure we do here?

PPC has  maintained or exceeded profitability of 95% of the other coins out there over the last few days despite the massive turbulance. I just don't think removing this marketing channel at this crucial time is the best route. This is our strongest point of information right now and to say it is suddenly done I believe is to remove one of our best advertisements.

I vote we wait to see what happens at the conference. With what happened today with Dwolla who knows, maybe all of the attendees will be arrested by homeland security. lol though I hope not.

Sorry for the rambling post, I'm just not sure that totally abandoning this thread is the best move at this point.

*edit it should probably read "exceeded profitability of 85-90% of the other coins" I was just shooting from the hip before, but I'll leave it as I typed it originally. I just don't want to get called to the block because someone disagrees with me.

Its just a matter of reaching people...the reality is that for the time being many of us post on both forums currently until people start to migrate (if they do).  Bitcointalk is obviously a more established forum, no question about that.  And many of us have vested interests in more than just PPC so it makes sense that we are here.  Its sort of a cache 22, nobody wants to post there until everybody is posting there Wink

And monetarymetals, I like where you are going with the stacked coins at the bottom.  In reality we'd probably have use for both images so its good you have the designs ready.

Good points, well taken.

I guess we just use both for now. Probably in the future the transition will just happen organically and naturally.

On a side note... how do we grow ppcoin from here? What truly needs to be done?

Just my thought(s), but Merchants, lots of Merchants. A pretty face (icon, website) is also great and helps acceptance both by merchants and consumers.

Not sure if most of you have seen this or not but Sunny offered a 100 ppc bounty (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ppc-bounty-project-discussion-142295) to the first 20 merchants to accept ppc (Not sure if it was intended to be payable to those convincing merchants only or to merchants also). I added 5 ppc to the first 20. I am not ppc rich by any means, but 100 ppc is a small price to pay. It'd be awesome if others could chip in a ppc or two and get the bounties up enough that merchants and those who could convince merchants get excited about doing so.

Without excitement by those not participating in this thread we are just spinning our own wheels.

At least at litecoin.net the pool threads don't fare well. The pool owners openned threads in the pools area there but seldom answers questions althought they are all active in pool threads at bitcointalk.

Yeah, I'm with Irishmick on this one. I will use ppcointalk, but we need to keep this thread open because it's our main connection to the Bitcoin community. We're not strong enough yet to completely separate ourselves from this forum. This thread acts as an advertisement for ppcoin.

I would make the suggestion to Sunny to add a link to the first post of this thread to ppcointalk.org, that way we can also use this thread as an advertisement for the new forum. He should also probably link to it from the main website, rather than bitcointalk's alt-coin forum. This will help to build up the community.

5) ALL of us completely dropping out of bitcointalk and carrying on our conversations at ppcointalk.org, each of us leaving on all ppcoin threads something like the following "THIS THREAD IS MOVED TO PPCOINTALK.ORG - JOIN US!"

+1, it's getting messy here... but not sure if it's feasible. We should at least try it though Smiley

I like it, but a bit too complex for a logo. My vote is to leave Peer to Peer on top but remove both the year and "cryptocoin."

OMG TheSeven, I freaking love you, you just saved me a very very large sum of money!! I'm now going to back up all my wallets and I'm putting them on a flash drive, and straight into my parents safety deposit box! Thanks again so much!!
Put them on at least two flash drives of different brands. Flash media aren't exactly known for their reliability... Smiley

^This and possibly print out a paper copy of the private key.

I will try and make a few adjustments, I'm not really sold on the coin shading on this one to be honest

Do you mean the way the light reflects off of the coin? I agree with that. I think it could be improved somehow, but I love the general design of the coin.

Here is the post I made over at ppcointalk.org. It has some critiques.

- I agree and disagree with some of the things Excelsior said. I think you should probably lose the date. Since we don't have physical coins that were created on a certain date, it doesn't really make sense to include it.

- I'm glad you spelled out peer to peer. I have the feeling that people get confused as to the meaning of pp and this would help clear up any confusion.

- It is pretty hard to read cryptocoin. Maybe you could darken it up a bit.

- I'd like to see the PP in the middle a more golden color as well. I'm not sure what it would look like though, so I'm just wondering. Also, I really believe we should drop the logo design that looks like IP. I think it's just going to confuse people. We don't need people going around saying they bought some IP coin.

- PPCOIN under the logo is much too large. I would think about making it smaller such as the gray text in this link (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17/Sentinelrv/Other-Images/ppcoinweb8.png), except dark green like what you have currently. Maybe just minimize that logo.

- I very much disagree that we should remove the leaf design from the coin. The leaf is what conveys that the coin is eco-friendly. This is very important in separating ppcoin from the competition. I also disagree that we should make the coin completely golden for several reasons. First of all, cryptocoins aren't physical, so they're not completely made out of copper or other metals. This is the only reason physical coins are one color and the same rule need not apply to cyptocoins. The main reason though is that without the green, I most likely wouldn't be able to tell that it was a leaf. It would just look like some random background design. It also helps break up the coin and makes it stand out. So please, keep the leaf to maintain ppcoin's eco-friendliness and the green color.

Ok, I'm back home from work and I whipped that alteration up real quick. I'm glad we're not rushing this or we wouldn't have gotten to some of these later designs. They're amazing!

Is it possible to see what that looks like with the top and middle connected? I'm at work so I can't do it at the moment. Not only does this look awesome, it states peer to peer right on the coin to clear up any confusion.
