I am a strong believer in this currency, long term. Now would be the time for the PPC community to come together to promote, grow and stabilize the market. There is an explosion of interest coming into crypto every minute at this point, let's get some of them on board.

Is there an agreed upon logo for the coin? Also, please take this as a critique only: the website at ppcoin.org leaves something to be desired. When I first browsed there my mind automatically jumped to the conclusion I may have typed in the URL wrong, what my eyes were visually taking in was not congruent with what I expected to see for the Portal into this great currency.

Easier said that done, I know. I would much prefer Sonny to not focus on such things that will take away from his core focus and expertise. We have a spoil of riches with artistic talent on these boards. I know this because I have seen some of the great work posted on this very thread. Anyone willing to put something more appealing to the eye would be welcomed.

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/period-charts.php?period=6-months&resolution=day&pair=ppc-btc&market=btc-e

If it drops below .00132, I would predict a freefall. Now could be a rebound period. There is about a 30 BTC support right now. 30 BTC up on the sell part would raise price to .0015..

eek, not sure what to think. Good chance PPC is gonna die...

Is there any information/charts about the history difficulty data set and hashrate data of ppcoin just like bitcoin? Thanks!

Some of that is available here: http://proofofstake.com/
But if you want more accurate information, it's probably best to directly pull it from the blockchain.

Any one getting proof of stake coins ?

I have plenty of coins that are 1.5 months old. but still no proof of stake...

wallet is 'unlocked for block minting only'

how much luck is involved? is there a calculator to gauge avg times?
Well, I found out, that my 415 coins at pretty much the same age as yours, would take about 80 days to find a PoS stake block. However, the more they age, the more the days to find a block will decrease. But at the same time, the PoS difficulty can rise, which in turn will raise the days to find a block.

Bounty plea:
http://www.ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=188.0

Please read. Consider it marketing if you need a tax write-off ;o) of course consult your tax professional first.

I want to add that I'm willing to give ppcointalk a try again. I did try before 95% of people did, but views were negligible then. Hopefully they increase.
Thanks all.

*edit I like to throw out random % guesses so some one takes the time to actually correct me. Can you tell me how many people joined before/after me? ;o)

** double edit ok sorry I didn't realize that ppcointalk had a members list organized by join date. Nevermind too easy ;o)

Aside from creating dank emblems, where is the project right now? What are the current plans/developments?

Home page forum link will be updated to point to ppcointalk.org soon.

Due to the flood of new altcoins directing new ppcoin user to this forum is confusing to say the least.

However I will continue to put my 80% forum time here because this is an important forum to communicate ppcoin's message and innovations, to a broader audience with interests in cryptocurrency in general.

Nice, I guess next it's up to Sunny to vouch for it.

He's already posted there in the sticky in General Discussion.

I think it's time PPC get it's own forum.

Here's a random question. How much would a bounty need to be to get a coin-control interface coded for ppcoin? I'm thinking of one that was GUI, allowed you to control coins by address, set priority of addresses for spending, control change addresses, toggle coins available for generating stake, show coin-age, calculate likelihood of generating stake at any point and show total interest earned. If it integrates the secure offline storage while generating stake so much the better.

Beyond that I'd like to see it provide detailed information about the network. I want to see how many other coins out there are generating stake, changes to the block reward over time, the network hash rate, block size, number of nodes connected, etc., etc. with both numbers and graphical views. It shouldn't require command-line interface to get reports like a rich list, etc. Imagine how many more people would hold onto their coins if they could watch their holdings ranked against the global rich list in real-time. There are a million ppcoins for sale on btc-e right now, people aren't sitting around generating stake, they're trying to earn BTC.

We're in a popularity war here and having the coolest client that blows bitcoin-qt out of the water would be a major coup.

That sounds like it could be a pretty cool interface. Personally I'd be happy with just some basics like setting up addresses and mining. A kick starter for that and the other things you've mentioned sounds good though. I certainly could pitch in, at least a bit.

Maybe I should I post this in Project Development?

I couldnt resist another attempt at a coin using parts of the updated designs recently seen here.

First I decided to move away from the PP logo approach and decided to look at representing the meaning behind the coin, so I decided to look at displaying time (to show POS) and the ability to transfer anywhere (using a travellers sundial). Also switched to a more metallic silver, to me it feels more futuristic, especially in direct contrast to the copper type industrial/traditional interior.

Mainly though this is just some fun and is sort of addictive!

Here it is  Smiley

Edit, heres a verly light gold/copper version:

Looks to me like Sunny is already there, at least to some degree. I think the only reason more people aren't there already is that there was an email confirmation problem. FuzzyBear took care of that and now I'm happily part of the Peercoin discussions. Peercoin is the main reason a registered on this forum and if there is place devoted to it then that's even better.  Grin

Ok, here goes...

THIS THREAD IS MOVING TO PPCOINTALK.ORG - PLEASE CONTINUE IT THERE!

PLEASE JOIN US THERE!

Well, that would at least need a link to a specific ppcointalk thread Smiley

We are still in the growing stages and let's be honest, lot's of people here will be looking at other coins in the next several months and by coins, I don't mean the sudden influx of p-n-d, premine, get rich quick coins. If we jump over to ppcointalk will we have the same exposure we do here?

I think it would be a good idea to declutter this thread. We definitely should not move this thread over there as is. Instead we should keep it here, and start moving individual discussions out of it. For example the whole logo talk, and some others. This one should stay open primarily for announcements, but possibly also for discussion about improvement of ppcoin itself (in contrast to the ecosystem around it). Not sure where support questions should go...
