I've been voting for PXL on Mintpal but I think we as a community are going to need to start putting in more effort to get this coin acknowledged. I'm kind of upset that it's so overlooked because if you ask me it has the potential to be huge. But then again with all the MT GOX drama going on right now everything is down. I'm not giving up on PXL I'm actually going to buy more now while it's low because these prices aren't going to stay this low for ever.

Yep - it's all about the $$$. Which is fine. Always been that way to get listed for many coins on many exchanges.
I kind of like how they are open about it.

I've been voting for another coin on there and TBH you need the BTC to get anywhere on the leaderboard and even then you could find yourself in a head-to-head battle with another coin.
Not trying to put people off, as I think MintPal is a great exchange and a real contender for the Cryptsy crown...just wanted to make people aware so they don't get too downhearted when voting alone doesn't work.
I do know that they also choose one random coin of the week - they did this with LTC, so it's not only top of the board that gets listed.

im pretty sure sooner or later this will take off...you just have to put the pixel wall up on various places so many people see it regularily...i imagine in a few years you can find it on all kinds of places like on amazon packaging boxes, book covers and billboards, and a small spot on the wall will be worth millions (or maybe not, who really knows

It seems like the coin is currently stuck in limbo - getting to the next phase would require us getting listed on bigger exchanges, but we need to get their attention. If anyone has any ideas on marketing please let me know, I am working on a little something right now that will help get the word out.
Also I would really like to push our voting system and would like to add newer coins not listed on CMC. If anyone has any ideas on what other newer coins to add please let me know as well!

It's not the greatest exchange visually but there are quite a few other coins on there being actively traded.
It also has the Giveaways section which you could use to expose more people to the idea of PXL...a lot get traded straight off but it does raise awareness.
They also just tweeted about requesting new markets, so they may be looking to add more.

But main reason is the two exchanges it's on are not enough to get sales. I contacted Mintpal
which is going to be the new big Alt exchange. They did like 3000 BTC volume on MINT coin.
Atomic is great but has no volume. Cryptorush is difficult to use at best.
So I e-mailed Mintpal to add it to their voting list and I will e-mail them a few more times
if needed. I can help get it to the top of the list once it's listed there.
Then we will go from there.. but ya... it's down - no doubt.
No point to sell for now.

) so I want to get this on liquid exchange where it can
actually be traded. If I can get it on their voting list - and the we (or I) can get it to be listed on the exchange
then from there it may get some actual attention finally.
It deserves a chance because it still is a really cool idea and all the other coins are boring copies.

it seems like very bad trend: coins with intrinsic value (Datacoin, Riecoin, Pxlcoin) never make big hype, though coins like doge or maxcoin (with no such value) have so much buzz around.

A scam? It clearly states the fee. We increased it to help the other pools get miners and spread the hashrate. Funny how we try to help the other pools and people like you make it negative.
