Is there any details about the technology of the qora? Just like a whitePaper.
I just want to know more about the qora, and then I can try to promote it .
Before I promote it , I think I must know it very clearly.

There is no white paper. I don't know if the developer will do one at a later date but he has said there will be a website with documentation at some point.
I see. The documentation is also good.
I just want to know more about the qora, whether by whiepaper or website documentation.

The Experience Layer of the Decentralized Internet
Hi qora, couple questions...

1. When is the final wallet going to be released?  On or before May 16th?  If I generate an account number and give it to you, will you send qora to me?  I think it's the safer method than transferring account seed.

2. Will you tell us in PM how much Qora we will receive?  I just want to know how much I will receive so I can verify the amount later.

3. Could you tell me how POS is going to work in Qora?  Is it a minting process like other pos altcoins (ie. if I unlock my wallet, it will automatically generate new coin block).  I'd like to learn more about POS in qora.

Great coin, great dev!

The wallet will be released on 16th may. You can create a wallet and let me send your share to any of your addresses.

I will release a list with the calculations which shows how much qora each transaction is worth.

To generate blocks you will need to unlock your wallet. the POS relies on the fact that the client has access to a somewhat reliable time source. Basicly it uses time but does not have to rely on a centralized time server to work. Currently it still uses NTP but later on this will be changed so it works completely decentralized.

I don't really understand this "account seed"

Wouldn't it be easier if we just sent you a pm with our account's address and you send each investor their Qora?

I think this will indeed be the best way to handle it.

I think sending an address to Qora is a pretty simple way to do it. I dont have any more secure way???

BUT it's not fool proof. If someone does have access to your PM they could send an address they make.

CALL ME PARANOID BUT THIS FORUM IS FULL OF HACKER TYPES. WE NEED A SECURE WAY TO DO THIS.

PEOPLE SHOULD CHANGE THEIR ACCOUNT ADDRESS NOW IN CASE THEY ARE HACKED ALREADY.

PEOPLE CALLING TO USE SEEDS WITH SOCK PUPPET ACCOUNTS AND BROKEN ENGLISH WORRIES ME, SORRY IF THAT SOUNDS RACIST.

HOW DOES THE SEED THING WORK?

Oke I undestand some people are confused why I say account seed and not private key. Basicly how the Ed25519 library works is it generates your private key and public key from a seed. What bitcoin does is generating your public key using your private key.

Your idea about the list is not bad...  however...  the signing a message (Qora address) with the sending BTC address route is very safe and probably the best way to go...  review how signing messages with your BTC address works and it will become clear very quickly.

Edit:  Will not work for those that sent BTC from exchanges though.

The problem is some people sent directly from the exchange.
The list idea could work but there are only like 3 transaction left from which I do not know the owner.
Most transaction had only one claimer and when there were multiple claimers I asked for proof.
People that want to claim transactions at this point should be able to provide proof.

great work!dev~

I saw this on another thread related to NXT and the tired argument about distribution 'fairness' came up.....as always.

I thought this post by some guy/girl should be like a required reading or something against those that bash the POS method. here it is...

"The big flaw in this whole argument about "distribution" is that it's based more on a toy-throwing-out-of-pram premise than any dispassionate appraisal of the "distribution model".

For example. The argument goes that NxT stakeholders stand to make an X0000000 % gain from their investment and that that's somehow "excessive". Whereas if someone buying a currency that had, say 5000 buy-ins and also made an X0000000 % gain - that would be alright.

The fact is that there isn't anywhere near enough market liquidity in any of these currencies for such gains ever to be realised at the amounts of holdings the original stakeholders had. Thats why it doesn't matter if it's 76 or 7600 original holders - it's like melting 2 big blocks of ice or 20 little ones in a jug of water. It dilutes just the same.

If the envisaged potential market for these cryptos is, say 50 million people, then an initial "distribution" of 5000 doesn't look too great either. That's 0.01% of the market getting the initial stake. Thats the real hypocrisy behind these empty criticisms."

Hello.

Wasn't there a link in this thread
to QORA investors spreadsheet.
I can't find this link any more.

@qora

Can you post this link in the 1st page?
Thanks.

So you make a Qora address and use that to sign the same BTC address you sent the stake bitcoin?

The on the PM post the BTC address, signature and qora address?.....seems fool proof.

Yes...  definitely fool proof...  you can actually make the signature public and it wouldn't change a thing in terms of being a safe way to provide qora with an address...  people that sent BTC from an exchange wouldn't be able to do it this way of course...  so your list idea is still LIVE!   Wink

Seems the way to do it then. I did learn how to sign with my multibit account for my stake. Its easyish for most people I think, maybe the odd tutorial would be good to link.

Maybe the list could just be for those who sent from exchanges. I imagine there are only a few if any..

If i had access to your PM and account generally, which the moderators do here by the way. Then they know everything, including the btc address you sent on and probably the signature you used for your BTC address.

I'm absolutely no expert but surely sending a Qora address to Qora. Then he takes the list and puts it next to the BTC donations. Then give everyone a week to see that list, which gives people a chance to say if someone has sent a false address. Then Qora sends out.

Your idea about the list is not bad...  however...  the signing a message (Qora address) with the sending BTC address route is very safe and probably the best way to go...  review how signing messages with your BTC address works and it will become clear very quickly.
