You have to realise one thing here.

Why would anyone complain about the QRK success?

It is simple, they didn't mine it when they could, they didn't buy it when they could ( for nothing). Now they are crying that it has taken off lol

The exact thing happened with btc and ltc. The same thing will happen with the next coin that meets dramatic success from nowhere. It's simple people lose out , they cry about it.

The distribution of qrk is actually better than BTC and many other coins. BTC is said to be 70% in the hands of 100 people.

Many coins are almost totally mined in a few months. Look at CGB this is a great coin and has already been mined.

Quarks distribution was not achieved through mining, it was achieved through the free market. It was on sale for MONTHS for nothing. For a few ltc you could have bought a ton of it.

The price was low because the miners dumped it on day one on the exchange, then they dumped the rest out for any BTC they could get.  Anyone who bought it is now laughing.

MINING is nothing. It is a way to distribute the coins but the market does this to a much larger scale.

I am happy to see ALL crypto that is individual and has made some new contribution to crypto currency become successful. All the coins listed are going to go up over time. Which will explode next nobody knows.

+1 cryptohunter! I find your posts some of the most rational around here. If you look up the beginnings of LTC, XRP it was the same thing - hate and vitriol everywhere from people who missed the boat and/or the "BTC is the only cryptocurrency" crowd. Some are angry because they missed out, others are trying to protect their investments in other coins.

And despite the fact that, as you said, BTC is said to be 70% in the hands of 100 people, some people will continue to insist that BTC is the only way to go and QRK is just a premined scam. Despite the fact that Bitcoin is currently $1,000 and Quark is 12 cents, again, some how Quark is supposed to be a pump and dump scam.

Oh well, haters are going to hate, successful people are going to continue to be successful by ignoring lies and FUD spread by internet trolls  Smiley

Biggest redistribution of Quarks we have right now since few days, mainly on Cryptsy (less on Bter). Just look on a BTC volume for quark on Cryptsy. I have been watching sell and buy orders every day since few days and biggest whales are already almost happy. Soon it will end. I think today we can say that people slowly start to buy more then other want to sell, just look through sell/buy orders.

i'm probably not hashing enough, i get max 220-230 khashes second

i'll need a better CPU or get multiple computers to do the job

I don't think you'll get much action from anything other than an i5 or i7.
what about FX 8350?

somewhere back in the middle of this monster thread, someone had an optimised miner for AMD bulldozer processors, they were supposed to get about 2mh/s, which is pretty good.

was it neisklar's compiled w64 executable?

Is this still mineable?

Of course it is.

and its... profitable?

with a cpu? a normal cpu?

that makes it susceptible to botnets though, right?

I'm currently mining ~20 QRK/day on an i5 and a super old Athlon X2
what miner?
where do you mine? i have a phenom 2 x4 and i'm barely getting anything on coinmine.pl

Coinmine.pl with an i7 3630QM brings me an Hashrate of 0.895   and 16.000 - 19.000 QRC per Day !

with the Quark-v3_w64 Miner from the ru- source i posted here earlier!

My i5 does 0.67 by itself and the Athlon X2 adds another ~0.25 or so, so I'm probably getting around the same as your i7 with the two chips. 20 QRK/day was an estimate (hence the ~), but it's not much less than that. Although the difficulty is going up. I emptied my pool wallet about 15 hours ago and I'm up to ~10 now so today's haul will probably be 15 QRK or so.

coinmine.pl

I forget where I got the miner...it was something I found on a thread on r/QuarkCoin I'm pretty sure. I'm told you can just use cgminer though but I haven't tried that yet for QRK (but cgminer is my go-to miner for all other cryptos).

For the sake of Crypto world, some well known devs BTC/LTC and others need to take a look at Quark because it really is having some interesting features and the experiment of mining them all quicker than decades might turn out positive after a while. The devs of other coins need to stop being selfish and acting like they are in some kind of currency war and help hand because we are seeing improvements above BTC and LTC in these coins which deserve more attention and if some flaws get fixed we could get a top notch currency here.
Enlighten me, what are these features?

Let me tell you I am not holding any Quark, if I had I would have already sold, yes, call me weak hands and butthurt. But this doesn't make my arguments less valid, having said that, with 0.5% inflation there is not much left to the miners. And let me remind you that miners keep a coin alive.

Also let me laugh at the statement that Quarkcoin is a better currency than BTC because the price will stabilize sooner. Look at the infrastructure around BTC and then turn your head to QRK and tell me how people is going to invest in a coin that gives no future to miners ?

bitcoin have future to miners? the goverments wanna buy a lot of asics and will finish with the miners.

No one can mine since the asics. REAL ppl, not freaks how pay 4500 dollars in an pro asic, and after that they need to update in 6 months.

NO to the asics, yes to evolution and profits for all of us.

EDIT:

and no more to say.

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
December 05, 2013, 11:43:49 AM
look up ftc, ifc, ltc all called scam coins as they rose quickly. The FACT is the people calling them scams are those that wish they had mined or bought cheap.

qrk is huge now, there is no pushing back into the unknown, the same with btc and ltc.

It will exceed 1 dollar because nobody can resist grabbing a few bucks worth and holding on to see what happens. Same with all the cryptos they will all far exceed the price they are now. There is no stopping it. Simply supply and demand. Try and buy a high end gpu right now , the r9 280 is gone mostly so are high end PSU, people are heading to crypto in force now and all cryptos that have good devs will explode in the next year. QRKs design puts it right at the top. I see clones attempting to come along already. Qrk is already distributed very widely. The only coins i rate to explode more are cgb and digi. These coins still seem to be behind what they should be.

Decentralized Ascending Auctions on Blockchain

Oh, sorry. Fixed it. It was QUARKS BETTER THAN BITCOINS not BITCOINS BETTER THAN QUARKS
I wish all the Quark tourists would go away so the difficulty is lowered and it goes back to being a nice, easy to mine coin on commodity hardware. That goes double for the bozos pumping it.  Angry
