Development Updates (April 13 - 19)

Qtum Core

Qtum core updates normally consist of Qtum Improvement Proposals. These QIPs are generated by both our developers and the community and in some cases requests from enterprise users. Our developers evaluate the impact of each QIP and work on high priority QIPs. All bug fixes and feature enhancements that have been issued to the core project will be listed here.

Qtum Neutron & x86 Virtual Machine

Qtum Neutron is the infrastructure to support new virtual machines and the first will be the x86 virtual machine allowing smart contract development in C, Rust and other languages. The EVM will continue, but the x86 VM will allow easy creation of smart contracts using safe, well-known, mature languages and tools, and also provide a new state memory model using DeltaDB.

Qtum Foundation Completes Scheduled Coin Vesting

In March 2020 the Qtum Foundation completed the final scheduled vesting of funds, representing 5.75 million QTUM for future business development, academic research, education, and market extension. Specifically, 3.5 million Qtum will go towards business development initiatives, and 2.25 million Qtum will be used for academic research, education, and market extension.

With this final vesting, the circulating supply is now approximately 102,335,000, consisting of the original 100,000,000 coins created in the genesis blocks plus the block rewards to date. Circulating supply will reach a maximum capped supply of 107.82 million with additional block rewards over the next 25 years, where the current inflation rate is 0.9% and will drop with the halving process.

It is nice that this project is still active in their development. I remember this one because it was highly criticized before. Good thing they manage to stay alive even if the current price is still way below from where they started. But I guess most projects are in the downward trend starting from first quarter of 2018. But being in the top 50 cryptocurrencies is already a feat...But checking its performance for the past week, it is going in the positive direction just like bitcoin. Seem that they are following the btc trend.

Join us for a Qtum AMA with Atomic Wallet CEO Konstantin Gladych, Wednesday, April 8th, 2:00 PM GMT at http://t.me/QtumOfficial
What exactly is right? Because the image in the picture is UTC.

Sorry, please disregard that question. I already find the correct answer. I just find out now that there is no time difference between Coordinated Universal Time and Greenwich Mean Time
Where does this session take place? Is there a platform used?
Anyway, added this event to my calendar to not miss this one.

Qtum Phantom Protocol: Unveiling Layer-2 Privacy

On February 13, 2020, Qtum released the white paper for a Layer-2 zk-SNARKs-based privacy protocol named Qtum Phantom.

Phantom privacy protocol is not only a key project for Qtum this year, but is also one of the few privacy solutions in China.

Focusing on Phantom and its zero-knowledge proof algorithm, Odaily and Yi Zheng, the chief developer of Qtum China, had an in-depth discussion.

Qtum is giving some stable updates about their development activity and this will make the community happily stake their coin in the wallets. Every week these people give some stable updates this makes make to grab some cheap coins in the market because while other coins are losing their potential without any activity.
