**searches for J4bberwock group buy thread**

Nope, not yet.... Will check back again shortly.

Don't expect it for at least 2 weeks. I'm extremely busy with breakout boards orders and another large project.
US distribution will most likely be with my usual resellers (Finksy, Holybitcoin, and maybe 1 or 2 new ones who showed interest in the early stage of the project).
It will save a lot on shipping for small orders.

Europe will be handled by me for now.

Are you selling these with the Orb's heatsink or just the board? If we just want the board (because we have Orb bodies) will they be cheaper? Thanks!

One thing I'll add. I am pretty sure I saw that the chips would sell for roughly $30 each. That would put the parts cost for this in at least the $70-80 range (wild guess on my part). Maybe j4bberwock got a better price, but I don't think anybody should expect this to be cheap.

Final retail price will be close to $150.
You are right on the price of the chips, you can't get them really cheaper.
Then, you add the PCB, the other components, and the cost of the assembly.
To be transparent, they will cost me at least $125 including import taxes and VAT.
And we are speaking of a bulk order of over 1000 boards.

J4bberwock, which software will support these miners? Will cgminer or bfgminer devs add support for these devices, or is ancient minerd (the one that is also used for SFARDS official miner) the only one that is going to be supported?

It will be minerd initially, but the driver code is structured quit well so I might be adding bfgminer support pretty quickly.

First report of actual units in the wild, but don't get excited it's not good news

5 units sfards miner already arrive in our farm, but the quality is not as good as they promise, only 1 of them run at 1.5T/48M, all other four canot farm at promised hashrate, 2 of them canot run at all, ask other friend got similar report.  already ask sfards technician to provide help, but i think it is better to wait until the quality become more stable, it will be a nightmare for our employee if a large batch of miner canot run stable

well I would say it is about time.    and 1.5th along with 48m  are meh  ..  I would love to know  what power use is.

A 1.5th with a 48m earn  119usd + 123usd monthly or 242 total  before power so if they use 1kwatt  that is 72 usd per month at 10 cents.

242-72 = 170   at 1400 with shipping you are looking at  8 months 2 weeks to break even.    This is bullish  since I used 0 for diff increase and kept the ltc ½ out of the picture.

For now, only cpuminer works.
CGminer/BFGminer will be done if the devs can get the hardware.

Regarding hashing speeds and efficiency, they will be given in a few days once the next boards will be received and tested, but you can easily guess them from the chips specs.

FUN > ROI
what willbe the hashing scrypt speed?

Practical:
Definitive answer will be in 7-10 days once a few details will be fixed.

Theoretical from stats in first post:
SF100 dual-mode miner has 24 SF3301 chips, with the running modes as following:
[...]
  • Litecoin single mining mode: Hashing power 47 MHS

[...]
It is also possible to overclock to certain extent (Sha-256: 2T, Scrypt: 55M).
[...]
After strenuous testing of the SF3301, we reached hashrates of 152GH/s for SHA-256 and 3.17MH/s for Scrypt.

47Mh/s / 24 * 2 = 3.92Mh/s - lower bound
55Mh/s / 24 * 2 = 4.58Mh/s - upper bound
3.17Mh/s * 2 = 6.34Mh/s - optimistic bound

So besides the Zoomhash website, is there any other place to buy these miners at a more fair price?

Not aware of them in any USA seller other then Zoomhash. And like everyone else I have not seen a photo of one in action.

Here is one in "action" Wink

Do the chips live up to the stated specs?

Definitive answer will be in 7-10 days once a few details will be fixed.
I'm currently on vacations, and working on it with only some basic tools.
One of the details is the final choice of the voltage converter for the chips.
The one I'm currently using mixes 2 brands, and they don't seem to like to work together.
So I'll probably switch everything to TI chips.
