The people behind iTop are not new. Everyone is tired of getting ripped off. However to be frank I am not very familiar with any major scandals regarding ASICs but I don't doubt there have not been any.

Back in Oct 2012 I started sending through Paypal money to Butterfly Labs because I believed in them. I pre-ordered so many Jalapeños that I started converting them into Singles. I trusted Brian, Jody and Josh. This went on for a year before I realized I was burnt. Do you know who's fault that was? Mine, it was my fault. The writing was on the wall but I continued with an incurable optimism until I finally realized it was over.

However this did not make me start harassing legitimate sellers of ASICs or new companies of being bad actors. I was grateful to see more businesses selling ASICs because I knew then that we would eventually obtain some. Most of us started our ASIC mining with the USB's from Friedcat. When I needed a large USB Hub I went to one of the iTop owners that was just selling them on eBay back then and he got it to me fast. Thats how long this team has been around. The iTop Corporate brand is just the name of their new Business which they had to jump through a lot of hoops to get rolling. I think they even had to register their logo image.

I want to see these guys at iTop do well. Once they build up a much bigger base we will see all kinds of cool stuff. They are big into the Drones now but I am hoping to see some killer deals on 3D printers, Solar Generators, and more mining equipment and ways to save save energy while still being able to compete as an independent home miner.

Let me try to get a hold of a friend of mine on the East Coast and ask him to comment here in regards to these peoples character and trustworthiness. Plus a friend of mine in the UK that runs some NOMP pools because he bought like nearly a dozen in one shot of those Silverfish LTC Miners from them through the old iTop ebay store back in 'May 2015' I believe. These peoples credibility needs to be established immediately before any accusations based on assumptions.

Because everyone these days is so busy and if that means I am not able to get anyone here to back up what I am saying. I recommend you look at this at face value. If the risk if far greater than the reward then just don't do it. However please wait until there is actually proof that they are acting in bad faith before pounding them on here with FUD.

I recommend reaching out to iTop and doing Business with them. You will not regret it. These guys are well financed, connected and have this down to a science. They are available around the clock. You will appreciate the way they do business. I know I do and I have yet to have heard any complaints but only praise from the numerous friends I have sent to them over the last few years.

I briefly looked at itop, and while I'm not convinced they are scammers, you've convinced me that they are using shills and are not to be trusted.

If your referring to me as a shill your off base, out of line and straight wrong. I rarely comment about anything, usually its just to support my friends. That is all I am doing here. However you have just reminded me why I don't usually come on BitCoinTalk and post. The reason is I have never seen individuals that go after people online like I have experienced and witnessed here. It blows me away. Here its guilty till proven innocent. Thats not the way it really works. You know that.

BTW- These below are the people I was referring to that I know that have done a decent amount of Business. Like most in Crypto its hard to get anyone to budge to do anything so I doubt they are going to come here because I asked in order for them to support James and iTop. But you never know. Although if by chance you come across them just ask and you will hear only good things about iTop.

Clueless!
Remember they are the builders of the blade which came out last year at 3000 usd and dropped and dropped and dropped until they were under 200 on eBay.
The reasons for the price dropping aside, the fact that the price dropped over time at all is a good thing, surely?  There's another thread where people are complaining about gear's pricing not going down (or even going up) Smiley

When the gridseed blades came out we had the second factor 'Josh of paycoin'  So the scrypt market had so much manipulation on so many levels I can't tell you that gridseeds choice to continually and quickly drop blade prices was the single factor that crashed scrypt.

I can say price wars combined with pretend mining By Josh/paycoin/GAW crashed scrypt.

But when spondoolies and bitmaintech had the sp20 s-5 price war btc went from 400 to 180 usd.   So I would say flooding the market with good cheap gear has its risks and can drop price.

@ searing    yeah you are basically correct   and I should just leave this thread alone. But besides my mining addiction  I have a blog post addiction.

I think I made 20,000 posts on

Hey whatever I said it was not a 'slam' at all....just trying to figure this out in some kinda context that makes sense...right now it is the only way I can see
this whole SFARDS launch in any kind of context ..in my own mind anyway...of making some kinda sense on what they are doing launch/product and otherwise

but yeah I get your point on too many posts...I have too much time at work (work nites) so have lots of time to scan bitcointalk Smiley

yeah I am now retired 58 years old and a lot of time on my hands.  no gear to play with so I post.  Rather post about new gear that I am testing but at 1999 from zoomhash thats is a no go for me.  The chances for new gear are

avalon 4 mini----------------no reply to my latest email
sFards -----------------------cost is too high
sidehack's usb stick of which I have 2
bitmaintech s-5++ or s-7 which is who the fuck knows.

I don't bother with much in house gear in the summer. So I post.

I run the difficulty thread in spec and answer questions in support.  Not much else to do.

well if it is any consolation I have 2 titan(s) that will eventually be doorstops then I"m out of home mining. In anticipation i got a bitseed node v2 coming and building a ltc node
with a pi i have ...just need them flashy lights and feeling I'm doing something with the network ..also i too have 2 8gb usb sidehack units coming .probably should run them on the pi running the ltc node with the btc node just to keep all the flashy lights and such in one area (alas ....the addiction to home mining is gonna be rough on me) thus the nodes and sidehack toys.....can't go cold turkey ..just can't Smiley

on a side note I can't see getting an S7 if the pricing is anything like the last S5's i have 13c kwh electric (went up 1c the last month the fiends!) Smiley it prob just won't make any sense at the likely price they will want ..being the only game in town and all imho. Smiley

would be sooo nice if SFARDS would come thru with say a 600 buck unit..still would lose money on it..but then again..i lose money on toys all the time...but at their
current prices I could win the lottery and still would not buy one..the pricing is that bad imho Smiley

Oh what a joke.....

TBH I'm beginning to think this whole thread/product is a bit of a joke. No proof of existence, stupid prices, no replies to email questions, no posts by the "manufacturer" here or anywhere else....nothing of any substance anywhere.

If they are/have made anything, I guarantee they are/will be mining with them as I post this, & the only way they will sell anything to anyone here is when they become unprofitable to use them - ala bitmain - dust covered second hand over priced miners galore.

They obviously read this thread because they quickly changed their "Could" website after it was commented on here - so how about they actually post something here as well? It's quite boring seeing this thread constantly at the top of the hardware section then reading the same old speculation & guess work over & over.

It just ain't gonna happen guys......

1. Have you ever sent email to us , to which email and what email address you sent from ?(pm me pls), let me check it for you .
2. For the miners , correct , we are not manufacturer for now  but a reseller . we do produce some accessories(cables) for miners and our other two product categories drone and storage.
3. We get involved of this business more than 3 years but just started marketing with iTOP not so long time ago.

thanks for paying attention to  iTop , and give us some more time for improving our new e-commerce web store .

iTop up to $1500 now.

Yeah why not   Grin
Oh what a joke, they decided to go the hash while the hold and wait for buyers and especially while they're the cheapest currently. That is not how you make new customers when you are a small shop.

Honestly I hope all the scalpers get stuck with these and are forced to lower price.  I've seen stores lose value by having inventory before.  SilverFish 28, A2's, etc dropped in price so fast it was not funny.

I wish sfards well.  Just wish it was easier to get one at a fair price.

Nah at first GAW was a legit reseller and even did real hosting to whatever pool you wanted. It wasn't until the virtualized the miners that things went to shit.

Well we can argue all day  but between gridseeds flooding the market  and dropping price time and time again plus Josh/Gaw selling phantom gear from July on scrypt got crushed.   Now as a twist sFards has sold a batch out and has 2 other companies selling the gear.

I  did a lot of business with zoomhash and they list this gear at 1999  just can't see this price  and iTop at 1399 is far lower but still too high.

iTop up to $1500 now.

Clueless!
This all goes back to sFards  and how they market this item.

Remember they are the builders of the blade which came out last year at 3000 usd and dropped and dropped and dropped until they were under 200 on eBay.

I liked zoom hash and purchased 7k in blades last year total of 17 blades . I am not going to say do not buy from zoom hash or iTop I am going to say I do not like the way sFards went about introducing this to the btc ltc world.

Well if the price is 1299 for these units (setting aside the min of 100 units) and we are looking at 1.7TH for BTC and 47 mh for scrypt (or in LTC's case 23.5mh in less then 30 days in actual mining power as a comparison)

to say all this is MOOT is a massive understatement..to say the least Smiley

Again imho SFARDS had NO real desire to move this miner ..it was a way to get some press and show off their new btc/ltc chip in the hope they can get IPO $$$ for their large
Farm with their own chips and/or just bulk chip sales.

Looking at it I think it is pretty obvious..they got a lot of press as the only 'toy' in town..but now that the rubber is gonna meet the road here say if they really do get these units
out in say Sept 2015...well don't much matter.....the got their 'press flash' for a month or so and moving on it will all go into background mode imho of their data hall and IPO $$$ and maybe chip sales to other large scale miners....

It WAS JUST TOO LAME TO BE ANYTHING OTHER THEN THE ABOVE IMHO ...again assuming the 1295 price was correct (we already know about the 100 min amount of units to buy them)

just saying I know squat...but I guess we will see one way or another someday Smiley

Someone posted this on bitcointalk (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/itop-e-commerce-site-online-1134060), I have never heard of them before and it looks like they haven't been around that long from the twitter account.

I also do not see any good company info

They claim to be selling sfards miners http://www.itop-corp.com/

Looks fishy to me

I suspect not to be real they show stock: Units in Stock:100

If they had some I don't see that site having backing for 100 units.   Were talking around 100k usd or more... i don't see it.   Also  the site is weird as far as variety of items.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. You're right that 100 items was incorrect and you're right about the Twitter and website being quite new. We started on Taobao and Alibaba then later eBay and have had a lot of growth in the past few years so have decided to test the water in the rest of the world. We're starting up independently where we have more control of our products and services and more direct dealings with our customers to offer a more complete service. Case in point - The Silverfish miners had a problem when the authentication server went down. Through Taobao/eBay, there wasn't much we could do (they like to stop sellers and buyers from communicating directly) and we had to put a message into the store page to our customers and hope they got it to let them know about an updated firmware.

Going independent allows us to communicate directly with customers and avoid these problems going forwards.

The Sfards miner: http://www.itopshop.net/sfards-28nm-sha256-and-scrypt-dual-miner-p-243.html (we have 2 with more coming very soon)

The stock levels on the website aren't all correct right now as we only have a small team transferring everything from Taobao and Alibaba to the new website but if it's on the site you can at least know that it's in stock. We're working hard to get everything up to date and added. You'll see our product catalog grow as we get more things online.

Here's the recent thread I started to introduce the company: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/itop-e-commerce-site-online-1134060

If you notice any other problems or have any questions then please feel free to contact me by PM here or email (see my profile). As I said before, we're committed to excellent customer service and we have a proven record on Taobao, Alibaba and eBay. It'll take some time to get that reputation after a fresh start so of course we'll be trying even harder.

you  are new people are tired of new guys coming here and trying to rob people.  Myself and a few others are trusted and don't rip people off .

If you want to proof yourself send one to me and when I get it I will pay you.  Now I know you are UK based. and do not expect you to send one to me. But find a trusted UK guy we know and send him one  trust him and he can say you did that.

Other then doing something like that people will just not want to buy from you.

Biggest red flag i see is they are still selling SilverFish miners.  I'm not saying they are scammers just selling crap gear.

But the SF-28 I had was a pain as time went on and I think they had a license issue as they connected to server.  I know they fixed it now.  Not to mention I had to baby that thing and even right a batch file to restart it.

Most good mining sites have stopped selling SF miners.
