bullus, can you isolate the exact customized miner that built that darkcoin-mod bin that gets us 6+ ?

I can't tell if it's 6-25, -28, -39, or -30

Also, I think around that time, only 14.6RC1 was available; I'm convinced that .bin was built with different drivers.

Still copied the aznboy build bin to other miners.

No I'm with you bullus.  Hear me out though.

I have every build of aznboy84's including the very first one where he cloned the 6-25 prerelease off of nicehash and created bitblock.cl

I'm trying to isolate which version of his miners can reproduce the darkcoin-mod .bin UPON CREATION, reliably, and see if we can't track down why, with the matching source.  The problem with his github is he didn't know how to use git until about the 30th, so all of his files are LOCAL UPLOADS with no versioning.

If I'm on 14.7 and do all those mods and still have now dropped to 5.6 - 5.7, then this has to be a combination of build factors AND the drivers that were available at that time.  Since 14.6RC2 came out late during that weekend, I wasn't using it, I was using 14.6RC1; which means there may be a reason why that uploaded .bin of yours ONLY WORKS STABLY on ONE RIG.  If you put that .bin across to other cards like a Tri-X OC 290X, it wrecks them SICK in a matter of 15 minutes, or even worse -> HUNG RIG.

I want to know which version built that badass .bin, and then recreate and build bins for my 2 other rigs that contain Tri-X OC, and one that has mixed Tri-X OC and standard Sapphire 290X.

This latest build from 7-25 is rock fucking stable, but now we're barely coming up with 5.6 across 3 cards, which is a vast improvement from getting 5.4|5.4|5.0 which is why I had opened https://github.com/sgminer-dev/sgminer/issues/347

This can't be some mystery miner; one of us has to have this shit; and it's hard for you to share only your bin when it might not apply to others; I'm lucky in that I have one rig clocking in at 6.1|6.0|5.9 but 2 other rigs hodling only at 5.6|5.6|5.5 (which, is still an improvement)

Yes I've done luffa 1 and keccak unroll 6 and hamsi 7 (irrelevant to x11)

I'm getting 6230kh/s with the aznboy bin (1050/1350, xI=64) u should try xI=64.
then they also start crashing on me so i just went back to my stable settings

Can you please post your stable settings?

Thanks!
1040/1375 at I 16 but that wont necessarily be the same for you. it varies form card to card and especially between card makes
mine are sapphire 290x BF4 edition (had to change the crappy gpu coolers on them)

i have... while it does give me as much as 6.45 on one of my gpu the other drops to as low as 5.0 and the average drops to around 5.8 per gpu. then they also start crashing on me so i just went back to my stable settings
i can get 6.0 with I 17 but it crashes after a while and locks the whole computer

Wow 6.45! Is it due to the gpu when it crashes or minersettings?
they will run that way for a while but as i said the average between the two is actually worse
i really don't know why they do this... also i have noticed that the WU dint actually go up on the one with higher hash rates....
sometimes the higher WU is actually the one with lower hashes....

I tried your mod v5 and get about -50kh/s for x11 and better hashrates with x13/x15.
But when I copied the old x11bin to your miner and mine again I don't have a higher hashrate.
Also copied the x13-x15 bin to the other miner gives me no higher hashrates..can u test and do u have the same issue?
sgminer-5.0-daily-20140712-15-win32 and your modded miner.

the nightly builds from nicehash are unmodified sgminer5 builds straight from the git
the one i linked you was one where i modded a few things

changed
#define SPH_LUFFA_PARALLEL 0 to #define SPH_LUFFA_PARALLEL 1
#define SPH_KECCAK_UNROLL 0 to #define SPH_KECCAK_UNROLL 1

in groestl.cl
changed
Code:
#define PERM_BIG_P(a)   do { \
    int r; \
    for (r = 0; r < 14; r += 2) { \
      ROUND_BIG_P(a, r + 0); \
      ROUND_BIG_P(a, r + 1); \
    } \
  } while (0)

#define PERM_BIG_Q(a)   do { \
    int r; \
    for (r = 0; r < 14; r += 2) { \
      ROUND_BIG_Q(a, r + 0); \
      ROUND_BIG_Q(a, r + 1); \
    } \
  } while (0)
to
Code:
#define PERM_BIG_P(a)   do { \
    int r; \
    for (r = 0; r < 14; r ++) { \
      ROUND_BIG_P(a, r); \
    } \
  } while (0)

#define PERM_BIG_Q(a)   do { \
    int r; \
    for (r = 0; r < 14; r ++) { \
      ROUND_BIG_Q(a, r); \
    } \
  } while (0)
and that gets me 5.95mh/s with 1040/1375 at I 16

if you want to get the hash rate the easy way, pull the darkcoin-mod.cl and any others you want out of aznboy84's build and it should give at least as good hash rate as mine probably better

I've gotten incredibly stable uptime with the https://www.nicehash.com/software/nightly/sgminer-5.0-daily-20140725-21-win32.zip

I don't know why, but there is another build under it labeled '1' instead of '21' that I have not tried yet.

Tested the hashrates but x11 is still very low 5500kh/s where I can get 6200kh/s with the optimized bin.
x13/x15 is ok.

Note the name sgminer-dev-daily-20140725-1-win32.zip - we've added also nightly builds for develop branch of sgminer: https://github.com/sgminer-dev/sgminer/tree/develop ... it has support for Fresh algo, etc. ... it is expected for the v5.0 branch to stabilise and new features will be added to develop branch only.

About betarig. I change the no-submit-stale to false and even lowerd the intensity and use my 290x for the total of 10mh/s ,but stil fluctuate ..I did what I can so it's got to be annother issue not at my side.

It spits out the error line of:

GPU xxxx failure, disabling!
Error -4 Enqueueing kernel onto command queue.

Mind you this is just one algo, even with the X11 or NST5 algos in the miner this does not work ( well the x11 being the darkcoin-mod )

Ninja edit:

Ooooo thats what
Code:
 does lol.
dont use --kernel
use --algorithm
also TC is only used for scrypt/nscrypt

Okay so I installed 2 more gig of ram... and windows...

I run the sgminer 5.0 before I install VNC and it works just great.

Now, I wonder if VNC is the issue .... I almost think so.
i found teamviewer works better for me and much easier, though my extra miners are running pimp at the moment

I use TightVNC with no issues.  You need a VNC program that doesn't mess with your display when connecting.

I notice a hashrate drop to below 6mh/s and rise back again with xI=65.
Drop to xI=64 (6274kh/s) and is not dropping anymore.(10kh/s or so)

Edit2
As u can see the Accepted shares are calculate fine in sgminer, but the above value isn't.
Is it hard to change the above value to the value sgminer is showing with "G".?

edit3
Still stable after 3 hours.

Restarted and see if the other algos also be stable...6.346kh/s Shocked

Sigh... every time I get close someone has to leap farther ahead.   Wink

Looks like you encountered the same thing I did with the x-65/x-64 threshold. I'm running x-68 since last night, averaging 5.96 Mhash/GPU across 4 290X's over 12 hours. Stable apart from a renter trying to load dead pools for a while, LOL. I get up to around 6.17 Mhash on one of the GPU's but they keep dropping off and don't hold consistently at the highest speeds. But I'm still at 1020/1350 on the clocks so that explains much of my shortfall, I'm sure.

On scrypt I had all 4 of my GPU's individually tuned to four different engine and memory speeds for the fastest possible stable speed. I'm going to try the latest builds and settings you and badman74 helpfully shared, and then see if I can push individual GPU's higher. Thanks again!

EDIT: Dumb question - I've never messed with voltage settings before as I didn't want to fry anything. But I see in bullus' profile that he has vddc set to 0. Does that mean "go with the default setting"? As I understand it the reference voltage on a 290X is 1.0 volt. So if I wanted to try cutting that by 10%, should I put "0.9" in the vddc line, or "-0.1"?  Reading the docs would have me trying the former, but bullus' example makes me think the latter is right.

That's funny cause 1 renter told I was selling a 4.2mh/s rig but I have 9.8mh/s.(4x7950)
At the graph at betarigs u see fluctuating hashrates but can't see that at sgminer like i saw it with xI=65.(290x)
Average is still 9.6mh/s, a bit lower than normal, but no way 4.2mh/s. Is there a tweak for flat hashrates? Decreasing intensity?

gpu-vddc is set at 0 ,because I set it with msi afterburner for testing. At github guide u should set it like "1.000"

I don't know where he saw 4.2, especially with your average per 2 hours right where it should be. The thing about Betarigs is that the hashrate they show is just based on their readings of your rig's submitted shares. There's two things you can do, you could explain to the renter that the accepted shares will be higher if they direct the rig to a pool that's closer to your rig, or you could change no-submit-stale to false (or just delete that line). Doing that would mean that your rig would still submit stales but at least his pool will see a higher amount of total shares submitted (and that would mean a more accurate gauge of your hashrate). Another issue with betarigs is that I don't think most people are setting the difficulty properly, so there's going to be pretty wild variance on your hashrate.

I might just create a pre-build paragraph to message the renter as soon as they rent the rig to make sure that they understand all of this and to try to help them out as best I can with finding the right pool (I can test the latency to their pool and let them know if it'll be a factor for stales/rejects) and kinda guide them through setting the difficulty properly for the hashrate of the worker.

I don't know either, only once my hash from the graph show 4.2mh/s and he complains my rig is down and rented as 4.2mh/s..fuck it. I told him to make a ticket that I was selling my rig for 4.2mh/s instead of 9.8mh/s..heard nothing of him anymore. I'm gonna change no-submit-stale to false and see if that work better. Thanks
